Center solutions and how I got it to WORK!

After research, googling and reading MANY forums, including HP, I was finally able to install full software features for HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m and have work HP Solution Center!  I have been using a wireless network, printer worked fine, but the center of Solution would not be responsible.  I always got the message that installation is not ended, etc..  Well, I was simply not satisfied this so I persevered until FINALLY I got it working... even after several reboots of the PC and printer. I use a HP Pavilion Elite m9517c with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with a lot of memory.    I love this computer, if it's possible, but left speechless with my HP printer.  In any case, here are the steps and I suggest doing all the:

(1) I uninstalled using an uninstall program separate (download Revo, which is free).  I uninstalled all my printer-related products.  This uninstall program search all files "leftovers", folders, etc.  BUT still, he does not get everything.

(2) I uninstalled all my adware, malware and virus protection.  Yes, I said everything.  I unplugged my PC from the internet during this part.  This includes Microsoft Security Essentials, AdWare, Spybot, Threatfire and Win Patrol.

(3) I disabled my firewall, even with disconnected internet. (I'm just a 'novice'!)

(4) I then manually searched C drive and searched all HP and ERASED files.

(5) I then emptied the trash while using "CCleaner", free installation.

(6) I used "System Mechanic" to repair the shortcuts, missing files, the missing DLLs and other potential problems.

(7) I used "Registry Mechanic" to fix all registry errors.

With steps 5 through 7, I ran them several times, constantly repairing and removing pieces, pieces and traces of useless products.

8A) I open "Start" and type "msconfig".  On the general tab, I unchecked "Load Startup items" under "selective startup.

8 (b) under the tab "Services", that I ticked "hide all Microsoft Services".

8 c) on the same tab, I then disabled the remaining programs.  Click on "Apply" and do not restart... still.

(9) connect your internet and NOW restart.

(10) wanting to keep my wireless connection, I don't then went to HP Software and Driver Downloads page for my printer and model.  I know that the software update is in the list, but instead of download, I downloaded HP Printer Wizard Installer for Windows 7 under "Diagnosis 5 tools - utility" and let him find download of full function.  I could have just downloaded "software full function" directly and/or used the NEW CD that I had ordered and already used without success, but thought that I would go a different route, especially after all uninstalls and clean scans that I had done!

When installing, I saw different pop - ups, I had not seen before!  Amazing!  Even saw a window 'registration '! Once again, amazing!  I then checked the Solution Center and its opening perfectly!  The only problem I still have is the 'twain' section when I run the "Scan diagnosis".

(11) after that ensure all this worked to my satisfaction, I then put a "Restore Point" name "Solution Center Working" and restarted.

I thought then try and install all the drivers and see if that would 'fix' the 'twain' part of my analysis.   Before I could blink, I had set in motion a 'uninstall' and I panicked!  I said "novice" earlier. And of course, "Solution Center" returned to say that he was not installed!   BUT after using "System Restore", I go back to work and everything is fine and has been through many restarts, and Microsoft Updates.  So for those who have said that it stops working, be sure to put a "Restore Point" when you get works... maybe that will alleviate some of the frustration.

(12) I have now installed all my security programs, run scans, etc. and still doesn't work.

Hope this works because if you were also frustrated that I had been for as long as I was... I was ready to 'launch this printer!

Before you set a 'System restore' point, DON'T forget to reset your "Services" under "misconfig"!
