cfdocument Tag questions

Hello community:

This is my problem: I use a tag < cfdocument > generate report. The report is about 20 pages. Once a user saves all data and answers to the questions to be generated in the report I send the form that sends the control id in the file of cfm who have the inside report (cfdocument and the code is in this file). My report shows a white screen. If I change the flashpaper format, then try to download an empty file cfm. If I remove the cfdocument tags in my code and then the correct output prints on an html document. I don't know what the problem with my cfdocuemnt tags. I'm using CF8. No matter which setting Coldfusion Admin? Any ideas?

Thank you!

I think I remember having a similar problem, but then to use CFHEADER to force the name of the file to be opened. Try this code at the top of the page that generates the document.

I have a popup form action page that opens with the form/target = "_blank" attribute.

The new document is an insert in the database and then creates a PDF file by using the < cfdocument > tag.

I try to update some items on the page of the form parent/door, because it is common for the customer to continue to use the parent, make changes, and then generate PDF one another. If I comment on the < cfdocument > tag that my code works very well, the parent document is updated as I had hoped.

I don't know how to do this, much appreciated help!

What happens when the PDF file is generated? It is automatically downloaded in the browser? Have you tried to use a hidden iFrame and some sort of notification modal to show that the file is generated? You have the page iframe trigger a function of parent to update HTML and return the link to the PDF file (so that it is not downloaded automatically). The files that are uploaded automatically performs a reset and everything anything until the download of the file is ignored.

My requirement that I want to create multiple PDF and publish to folder and zip folder so that the user can able to download the ZIP file

Thanks in advance

My requirement that I want to create multiple PDF and publish to folder and zip folder so that the user can able to download the ZIP file

(1) create a folder named, say, docsDir, in the current directory.

(2) create PDF files, using suggestion of Eddie Lotter, name each file dynamically and store them in the folder docsDir.

Insert here the code to generate the content of #filename # .

(3) zip file, docsDir, store the resulting file, docsDir.zip, in the current directory.

• Certain conditions apply to the cfdocument tag

I would like to display a .cfm in HTML or PDF, controlled by a POST variable. I had considered as having a cfm for html (let's call view.cfm), can have a view_pdf.cfm which was simply a < cfdocument format = "pdf" src = "view.cfm" > tag. However, this does not work - I guess it's because the src attribute accepts only html documents. Then I tried something like the following:

< cfif checkforvariablehere >
< cfdocument format = "pdf" > < / cfif > OUT STUFF HERE < cfif checkforvariablehere >

< / cfdocument > < / cfif >

However, this gave me problems with the cfdocument tag closing, which is reasonable, given that tags overlap. The only way I found is to have a cfif/cfelse structure, with the cfdocument Tags output in the first and not labeled cfdocument in the second. It is, of course, stupid, since now, no matter what changes I make to the exit, I do in two places. It is the only solution that is imparted to me, or is there something else I can use?

You may have more luck with cfsavecontent. It allows to generate what you want to display and then it

variable #your #.

variable #your #.

In addition, all your closing tags of course.

[Tag - Whitelist:TEXT_TAGGER_WHITELIST0]-tag metadata Searchterm entry rule does not match expected tag input metadata rule

Please advice if you are aware of the resolution.

Ashwani,

I have not seen this problem before, but I think that the column header is case-sensitive, so it should read SearchTerm, not Searchterm.

• div tag questions

I'm learning available to tag CSS and div, go smoothly, so far. I can't understand it.

Most of the time the divs set the 'blocks' (for lack of better term) exactly I would like it... usually. with a few exceptions.

In my div 'footer' (gray), I want three separate blocks or div inside the footer div; a right, Center and left. (dark green boxes below). No matter what I try, my right div will not stay inside the footer. He falls below the footer div, but the "justified to the right", as I want. It is a screenshot in Safari the page layout.

I scoured the html and css with no luck. I deleted the page and CSS file and started more than three times, to see if I was overlooking a mistake. No luck. This right div will not stay inside the footer DIV.

This is my 4th attempt. See the three dark green blocks? The right we can't stay in the foot! (the css code is at the bottom of the page)

body - light purple

container div - light green

header div - orange burned

mainText - light blue

footer - gray

footer internal 3 div - dark green

Screen shot 2013-10-14 at 6.41.45 PM.png

Second issue. See the clear green space between the footer (gray) and the maintext (light blue). How can I get rid of this? He does not appear in design view, but presents itself in Safari and Firefox. (also the light purple at the top).

The CSS for this page below. Thanks for your help. I've been beating my head against the wall over this for a few days.

#container {}
background-image: none;
min-width: 880px;
Max-width: 1600px.
margin: auto;
padding: 0px;
background-color: #6F3.
}
{#maintext}
Width: 880px;
margin-right: auto;
left margin: auto;
background-color: #69F;
padding: 0px;
}
#footer {}
Width: 880px;
margin-right: auto;
left margin: auto;
background-color: #999;
}
#header {}
background-color: #C63;
}
{#footerleft}
background-color: #090;
float: left;
height: 100px;
Width: 250px;
}
{#footercenter}
height: 100px;
Width: 250px;
margin-right: auto;
left margin: auto;
background-color: #090;
}
{#footerright}
background-color: #090;
float: right;
height: 100px;
Width: 250px;
}

The space is caused by the browser by default on margin the

tag.

Add the following code to your stylesheet

{p}

margin: 0;

padding: 10px;

}

• Meta tag question

Hello

I recently posted a new web page. I noticed that when I search my site on google, my old links are displayed. How to flush out the old links and replace them with the new site? www.theorangemusiccompany.com

or is it possible that robots do not read my meta data? I don't know if I said that correctly.

I just read a recent announcement in this forum (on the link below) that may relate to what I'm asking, but I want to see if someone here can shed some light on this for me. http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/852485?TSTART=0

You will notice that my site pages have the extension .php. It's because I have a "Login" section on each page. I removed most of the php code for the moment while my login section is updated. Please take a look at my 'page source' for details.

Thank you

Henry

I was told by someone at Google, it can take up to six weeks for research update information. One thing that helps is if you add a (new) or change the contents on a regular basis. Because the crawler will compare today's reading with (hopefully) last week if there are changes on the index page, it will look for changes on the linked pages. After a couple of times (which may take two weeks or more), it will fuel the information updated to the servers link.

That's what a search engien robot would see on your index page this afternoon:

• Limit of < cfdocument > PDF

Hi guys, I'm trying to create multiple PDF files with the < cfdocument > tag inside a loop. When I say several pdf files, the meter could reach up to 1500 files. The result should be a zip with all the files.

The problem is that, after awhile, the application crashes due to: means: java heap space .

My question is: a coldfusion a limit in the generation of PDFs < cfdocument >? I also, tried to break all this action in several threads, put only 100 PDFs on a thread, but even so some of the sons ended with java heap space error.

Anyone of you experience this problem before? Advice or assistance it will be gratefully apreciated.

Best regards

George T.

There is no limit, I know, for the number of PDF files, you can create. However, the Java heap space error means that your server is out of memory. This could be a multitude of questions. You save all PDF files in memory or save them on your RAM disk in the loop? If the documents are of considerable size he will eat your fast real memory.

You can allocate more memory for CF? How about writing PDF files on the disk in the loop? An option "of last resort", that I have used before in similar situations implements a META Refresh to reload the page during the processing of only a few elements at a time (it doesn't if you use scheduled tasks, of course).

• conditional cfdocument?

I have a page that displays text information of base inside the interface of my site. I would like to offer a printable version that will be just the text. I thought the link saying something like < a href = '#CGI. SCRIPT_NAME #? print = true "> print < /a >"

and then I tried to put the following code around my text:
< CFIF #IsDefined "(URL. Print') # >
< cfdocument format = 'pdf' focus 'portrait' = >
< / CFIF >
The output text goes here
< CFIF #IsDefined "(URL. Print') # >
< / cfdocument >
< / CFIF >

but it doesn't seem to work - said that the < / cfdocument > tag requires corresponding to a start tag.

I know that I could do:
< CFIF #IsDefined "(URL. Print') # >
< cfdocument format = 'pdf' focus 'portrait' = >
The output text goes here
< / cfdocument >
< CFELSE >
The output text goes here
< / CFIF >

but then I would need to type the text twice - there is a lot of text, so it's not really practical.
is there another way I could do it?

also another question about cfdocument. It seems that whenever I use cfdocument to text in PDF like this output, the text in the pdf file is much larger than the text when the web page output. Why is this? How can I make the text in the PDF the same size as if it was displayed to the page?

This doesn't seem to work - says that the tag requires corresponding to a start tag.
In your first code, Coldfusion is aware of the cfdocument when the tag wherever it ends with the first block cfif. She expects then automatically search the corresponding end tag. If a tag must have an end tag, Coldfusion must be able to analyze the (start tag, end tag) pair unconditionally.

is there another way I could do it?
I find your second code a good solution. It takes just a little adaptation,

How can I make the text in the PDF the same size as if it was displayed to the page?
Use style sheets

• CFdocument not convert IMG with CSS overflow hidden - displays the entire image

series - amps.gif is strong 800px of 16px wide. He moves to his good display with css background-position: 0 - 50px; the overflow in the H4 (24 PX height) tag is hidden with css overflow: hidden. works great as html, but the PDF of CFdocument output image high hidden full 800px, not positioned, or overflow in H4. any ideas?

Unfortunately ColdFusion only supports CSS limited during conversion to PDF format.

The documentation for the cfDocument tag lists the supported CSS styles.

Have you installed the fonts on the server via CFAdmin? I print bar codes that are readable by whom I designed using CFReport Builder. The only reason why I use the report generator is because my BC printer is USB and not Ethernet or wireless.

• [Resolved] tags surround with & lt; CFIF & gt; & lt; / cfif & gt;

Hello

I have a custom tag that generate reports. It creates the HTML code, surrounded by < cfdocument > tags to create a PDF file. I wish I had a format attribute in my tag, to choose between PDF and HTML. Is it possible to do something like:

< cfif attributes.format IS 'PDF' >
< cfdocument... >
< / cfif >

...

< cfif attributes.format IS "PDF >.
< / cfdocument... >
< / cfif >

Apparently not, it seems to raise an exception. Is there another way to do it? The easiest would be to copy all of the central part of the html, but there must be a cleaner way...

Thank you

Roman

And indeed, that's where I started! But the format does the PDF and flash, not HTML. In fact, my problem is a bug, reported as bug 59995 number. The solution is here:

You can as a first vriable cfset and then use it in the filename argument
