change default audio codec

Hello.

Just a simple question about codec audio default on SX80 (TC7.3) H.323 call. Is it somehow possible to change the type of codec to alaw ulaw G.711?

Thank you.

Marcel

I don't think you can change the default value and still have the other optional availalble.  However, you can use a filter Capset(2) to restrict the use of a particular codec, so it is not getting used to everything.

  • Cannot change default audio transition

I want to change my audio transition default "Constant power" to "Gain Constant.

So I right-click on it in the effects palette, chose "default value", and it highlighted.

Yet when I use my shortcut audio crossfade, it still applies a constant power.

    What I am doing wrong?

OK, so the problem is that I was using the command "Apply the Transition Audio Crossfade", NOT the command "Apply default Transitions to selection".

Which is still pretty boring, because it works differently... seems you have to select the transition with the mouse, while the command of Crossfade is automatically applied to the current position.

You cannot change the order of Crossfade to be 'constant gain?

Update: OK, I guess I can use "Apply Audio Transition"... so, what is the Transition of Crossfade Audio apply for?

  • Change the default audio device and the recognition of the application

I'm new to Vista (home premium w/sp2) and I am confused by works the assignment of default device (control_panel-> sounds), specifically the device change with existing applications (running).

I change frequently between the speakers and the headphones - however, the change of output device is not recognized by running applications, such as iTunes or Firefox and will not be recognized until I have completely quit and restart the application.

Why?  It is extremely annoying and incoherent other well educated such as Mac OS X platforms.  I would just like to change the default audio output device, on the fly, without the need to restart applications.

I do something wrong or Vista offers this functionality to the end user?

    Hello Wyntr,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

Currently, the function of switching between audio output devices is carried out manually. To make the selection, you can click the sound icon in the taskbar, then click the button at the bottom of the volume control Mixer. In the properties of the volume, you can click on devices in the upper left corner and select the appropriate device to make it the default for applications open from then on.

Let us know if this can help, or if you have additional questions on this subject.

Then, it is the question, if you want to change things in the bios.
You can make changes so that the pc will not start, so be careful. If you don't change anything else, save.

    It is described here:
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01884922

You can try some of the other steps first, access to the bios is described before step 10.
You can 'onboard audio' the value 'Auto', or just turn it off.

  • Keep having to disable and reactivate my IDT High Definition Audio CODEC, what's the problem?

    Hello!

I have a Pavilion Touchsmart Sleekbook 14 "with Windows 8, I bought the news about 7 months ago. I have not yet updated to Windows 8. 1.

Recently, I noticed that my audio suddenly stops working. This happens usually when my computer has been asleep and I start it again. No sound through headphones or loudspeakers when I plug them in. I have not tried external speakers, but I imagine that the result would be the same.

If I go into my device manager and disable and re-enable the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC the sound comes back. All the audio devices I have listed are associated with this IDT High Definition Audio. I tried to update the drivers, but he informs me that the most up-to-date drivers is already installed.

I'm not entirely sure what causes this problem, but I remember to install a HP Windows Update or a while back about IDT High Definition Audio. I think it's an optional update.

EDIT: after doing some more research, it looks like it is related to that Windows update and compatibility of their audio driver IDT with Windows 8 or 8.1 does not look very good. If all else fails I'll try to uninstall the IDT CODEC all together and use default HP audio.

Someone at - he found a solution that works for them in this regard?

  • Headphones are the default communication device, won't change default device.

    Hello

I have sound problems on my laptop Compaq 610.  When I plug my headphones, sound continues to out speakers and not the headphones.    I tried to go into the control panel and ensuring that the headphones were put under the default playback option.  "Headphones (RTC)" are defined as the "default communication device" and "speakers/HP" is set as "default device".  It seems like a simple solution, I just need to change setting headphones and make reading the value default, right?  But when I try to do, it won't let me.  The option is there to make the headphones the default device, but when I click it, it does nothing. I also tried to disable the speakers, in this case, nothing worked.

I must also mention that when I test the helmet in the Advanced Properties menu, they work perfectly.  I also did a repair on playback devices in the control panel.  It comes up saying that the problem is that the headphones are not defined as default.  I click on 'Apply this correction' and it comes up saying 'Not fixed.'?
I have Windows 7 and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (already tried to remove and reinstall the driver.)
I saw this same issue of another person, but each thread has the same suggestions and in the end, remain unresolved.  If anyone knows anything else that I can do, let me know.

    Hi danfriese,

I suggest you to check with the volume settings and check if it helps.

    1. right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.

    2. put a check mark on "all devices evolving sound.

3 make sure you have "Default uncontrolled communication device".

    4. place a check mark on the speakers and headphones.

  • How to change the audio output for the metronome

    Hello

I would like to send the metronome (and speech signals) for monitors to the scene in the ear.

I understand that I can do this in MainStage using different output for the above titles vs. the rest of the 'Concert '.

I tried to follow the instructions of the Manual:

Change the audio output for the sound of the metronome

    1. Choose the MainStage > Preferences > General.
    2. In the section of metronome on the general tab, choose another audio output on the shortcut menu to exit.

    PROBLEM

    1. on the general tab, only the outputs 1-2 are available/selectable (likely, these are also by default for all "Concert")

    2. Why is this process in the manual if it is not executable (without doing something to another additional Set up)?

    3. it's probably among the requirements of setting up more critical even easier for using MainStage with a live band, so why am I having to ask for help at all!

Rant on (its been a long day)

Grateful for any help to solve cela. I guess I can send the metronome (such as a click track) and speech signals on the same outputs, which are separated from the rest of the Concert... or should I change the outputs on the other tracks and keep the outputs 1-2 for the metronome marks / voice?

Thanks in advance for all advice and my apologies for my frustration. JM

To access the output audio, you need an audio interface with several outputs.

  • HP Pavilion 2320tx g6: IDT HD Audio CODEC for HP Pavilion 2320tx g6

Hello! I used the IDT Audio CODEC for Windows 7/8 for a while, but a few days ago I accidentally uninstalled the Audio driver. I searched the internet for the suitable driver for my laptop, but the audio driver listed here package seems to be broken. After downloading the package and extraction, she seems to contain the Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver (must be contained in a sp61713) instead of the Driver Audio IDT. I can't find the original content of sp61716and so impossible to install the correct driver IDT. Anyway, the size of the file of the current binary file listed is 5.77 MB, too small for the IDT audio driver in my opinion.

I looked almost everywhere and downloaded dozens of pilots under 'IDT HD Audio 6.10.6417.0 A', but none of the .exe, I tried it, works.

I'll be happy if someone can link me the content of sp61716 (no, the ftp://15.193.112.22/ftp1/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61716.exe package contains the Realtek Ethernet Controller Driver after extraction), or correct the original in the Support page link, so I can return my headphones to life.

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I tried system restore already, but it did not work. He showed that the restore was successful, but the pilot has the same default Microsoft, which does not help my helmet. At this point, I guess reinstall the appropriate driver is the only option I can think.

EDIT2: It is certainly not the problem of my helmet; they work very well on other devices. In addition, previously I had downloaded and installed the driver from the HP itself support page, and the old version of sp61716 was indeed the (good) driver to work.

  • IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC-updated, problems with the audio

I recently installed successfully IDT - Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and after that none of my audio worked. Everything indicates that the audio is working as usual, but no sound. Also, when I did a test "sound" in the control panel > sound, it is said "the test could not be played. (Translated from Finnish Windows Vista, but anyway). I went to IDT Audio settings (from the bottom right icon) and noticed that my headphones and speakers had been cut so I removed the 'secret' of these two, but nothing happened. I tried to restart the computer several times and recheck the IDT Audio settings but nothing found which could cause the problem.

    Hey Andyy27,

My HP Support Assistant tried to make me update this driver I have the computer in mid-August.  Same thing; whenever I have install the driver, there is no sound either - I have not known what you mentioned above on the sound slowly disappears.  Thahaseena, good to have you hear.  I am running Windows 7 family on a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC.  After installation, there is no request to restart or stop to install updates; my sound card lists an error and I have to roll back the driver to make it work again.

My driver date is January 13, 2010, version 6.10.6265.0.  It's one that I continue to back and it works.  I will install the update now and tell you what I get for audio driver is not working.

The properties of my IDT HD Audio CODEC says:

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

You must restart your computer before the changes made to this device will come into force.

New driver that disables my sound: June 17, 2010, version 6.10.6289.0.  Well now, it asks me to restart, but I'm not having good hope... will write if this time it solves the problem (4th time charm?).
