change of admin

Hello

How to change my admin account

Change it to what? What version of Windows.

If you mean you want to have a new admin account, then log in as administrator, enter 'User' in the search bar, select "User accounts" the search results, select "Manage user accounts" and click Add. Make the new user administrator. Of course, there are several ways to add accounts, but it is one way.

If this isn't what you mean, explain in detail. The more details you can give, it is likely that you will get adequate assistance.

  • I can't change my admin password, even though I am connected to the account now.

Last week I changed my Admin password to something a lot more time with little maintenance, however I do not remember it now, so my question is, what can I do to reset it back to the old. Unfortunately, I forgot to make a recovery disk.

I tried to remove it from in the account itself, but it keeps asking for the password, I created another admin account so I can still do the General administrative tasks but I like my old account, I actually installed programs only to this account if I'm afraid to log out of it for now.

I did a test on the admin account, I created and it does not have a current password remove or change its password. I was wondering if I am logged into this admin account, I wouldn't need a current password, but I wanted to ask here first... If I can't change it from another admin account, how can I reset it since in the current account without the collar that I created last week.

I am sure I know the first 23 combination of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers, but I can't for the life of me remember what I've added to separate it from another computer, I have... I wanted to just the two have similar passwords, with it longer, and so it would be easy to remember (which seems to achieve style lol)

Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you

  • I changed my admin.password last night and the earlier my husband did a system restore on it. now it tells me wrong password

    original title: help please!

I have windows vista on my acer aspire 5517 I changed my admin.password last night and the earlier my husband did a system restore on it. now it tells me wrong password... I don't have a dics in it plese... I need help ASAP

Next time please post in a forum of Vista. This one is for Windows 7. But since you're here:

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent asmuTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

After having updated the latest Firmware [Dell your 2161DS digital switch, Firmware, Multi OS, Multi language, Multi system, v.3.1.0.0, 1.3 (A03-00)] and restore the default settings. We do this directly through the Remote Console software.  Seeing the log in window, the user name is "Admin" and there is no password.  We can access in the switch, but "Admin" a/c is missing from the "User" settings category. So we can't change the Admin password.

Could you help us to change any password Admin password?

  • Need help to change the admin settings

I bought a used dell optiplex 755 from a local community college and need to change the admin settings so I can download the programs and files because it deletes every time on restart.

Do you a big favor and restore the computer to its factory settings.

    See: http://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/19/SLN291879/EN

If for any reason that does not work (for example, the school removed Dell 'restoration' software), go to the Community College of the it Department and ask them nicely to restore the computer to a functional State.

NB: If after restoring to factory State, you have any software "free trial" - any software particularly virus - be sure to uninstall.  The free trial period will have expired for a long time and the presence of antivirus software, even if idle, can cause a lot of problems.  Most of the antivirus software requires special removal tools provided for free by the Publisher of the antivirus software.  For example:

  • Is there a safe way to change the admin password?

When I got my custom PC built and began working with her six years ago, I had no understanding of the importance of strong passwords. The password for the administrator account on my PC is very low. I said two completely different things on fixing this. 1. it is completely impossible and any attempt will be completely trash the account Admin 2 - it is possible if you use the correct procedure and follow the instructions carefully. Who is the most reliable assertion?

    Hi okieseeker,

It does not hurt to change the password on the computer, unless you change or forget the password.

  • No Option of account Type change under user ID-want to change of Admin for the Standard user

Hi, we have a Vista Home Premium system.  One of the children has received this PC and they are as an administrator with no other users.  Later, I added myself as admin and wanted to change the children as a standard user account type, but there is no option to change account type under their username.  I don't want to change the names where I am the initial administrator and the new standard user are children because they already have a bunch of stuff under their original admin username.  ((1) why I do not see the option to change account type and 2) how to change their standard account type so I can use controls parents?  Thank you!

I want to tell you that if the computer has 1 account only, it will be the default Administrator account and change the standard account type will be gray.

However, you can create a new user account and set a new one as a standard account.

    See article:

  • Changed the admin user customized to a regular admin user group. Changed again to custom and connected to the wide and, now, the admin user's profile is not there. Any suggestions?

I have another standard user and a guest account. When uac asks for an admin password, there is no space for the password. Tried safe mode, still not visible. When you use standard user, I can see the profile of lost files and account, but may not restore or retrieve. Important data are on account of lost clean install would be a last option. Can not run anything as an administrator. Y at - it a hope of recovery?

You can solve your problem as follows:

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you changed things.
There are two very important lessons to be learned from this event:
    • Running a machine with a single administrator account is short-sighted. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key.
    • Many people think that regular backups on an external support is a waste of time. Only, they change their minds after that they undergo a major disaster.
  • Cannot change my admin account

Recently, I took my laptop to the team of geeks for some questions. The problems have been resolved and I was told that Windows 8 has been updated to the current version of mist. It comes to my laptop and I know very well that I was the administrator on this computer. I went to go delete an old user account using one of the family. I could very well remove it, but I noticed that there is an admin account. And now he says I am user of "standard". I tried to change my now 'standard' account to an admin and he won't let me. And the new admin account cannot be changed or deleted. It's just there and do anything for her. I was for sure the origin on the computer Admin account. But it seems that since my last update, it created another admin and just changed mine to the standard. Help, please. Thank you.

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting the request in Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. When you say upgrade to the latest version? What is Windows 8.1?

    2. What is the name of the administrator account that you found?

You will not be able to convert your administrator profile if you are using a standard account. That's why we need another administrator account to manage all other accounts. Try if you can connect to other administrator accounts and perform these tasks.

I suggest you turn on the built in account administrator on Windows 8

You must run the command from an elevated command prompt. To do that you must do the following:

    a. press on the Windows key for get in the Metro interface if you are not already there.

    b. type cmd and right click on the result of the command prompt to be displayed.

    c. open a list of options below. Select run as administrator it.

    d. accept invites UAC

Enter the following command to activate the hidden administrator account:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

If you ever want to disable the account follow the same instructions, but run the following command instead:

NET user administrator / active: No.

Once you have activated the account, you will see that he listed in the user accounts Control Panel. Note that the account has not assigned a password to it, and that you should consider to set one to improve the security of the accounts.

You can manage the accounts of current users and convert your administrator user profile.

Hope this information helps. Response with status so that we can help you.

  • How to change the Admin Local user to external users

    Hello

I changed my administrator to the local user. If I once again the connection as long as administrator I do not get admin tab. How can change it back to original (external user)? I'm using oracle 11g.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

The WLS Console create a new user and assign the same user than previous data to the admin user.

Then connect with this new user to the Complutense University of Madrid, go to Admin applets - User Admin - change the type of 'old' External user, and then save the changes.

Disconnection with the new user, sign in with the old, and it should be back to normal.

    I hope this helps.
