Change the location of the bookmarks

I would like to change the location of my favorites. In the past, I managed by typing in "subject: config ' and then enter a name, preferably new"browser.bookmarks.file"with a value of my new location of the bookmark file. With the 3.6.13 version, it does not work. How can I do this?

You cannot change the location of the Favorites file, the bookmarks places.sqlite file must be in the profile folder.

  • What happened to save a bookmark in an existing folder? Now, I have to save and then change the bookmarks - huge time waster

I'm sorry if I'm simply not see something obvious, but save and organize bookmarks appear to have taken a huge step backward. It seems I can save only a bookmark in the zone unsorted bookmarks and then need to open the bookmarks library to move the bookmark to a folder. In the past, you had options to save a new bookmark in an existing folder or create a new folder and save here.
Again, I'm sorry if I simply don't see a method to achieve that is right in front of my face.

    • By clicking on the star in the toolbar navigation go to bookmark the page in the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and the star lights in blue to show that
    • Bookmarks > 'Bookmark this Page' (Ctrl + D) going to bookmark the page in the folder of bookmarks Menu (you will need to confirm that)
    • 'Bookmark this Page' is accessible via the context menu in the area through the bookmarks menu or navigation in the menu or Firefox menu button drop-down bar (Alt + B)
    • If the URL in the Navigation bar is set bookmark and the star is blue highlight then click on this star highlighted or use the menu item "Bookmark This Page/Edit this bookmark" (Ctrl + D) to change the properties of the bookmark as the name and the location and move the bookmark to another folder or delete the bookmark
  • FireFox won't let me not do right click to change the bookmark names

I recently bought a new computer and downloaded FireFox. When you add my favorite sites to my bookmark, the names are added automatically. They are too long, and I want to change them, but FF is not letting me do a right click to change the name.

When I right click, it just goes to the bookmark as if I used a left click. Right-click on the computer itself works, but is not trying to change anything in a toolbar.

    Any suggestions?

Unchecking "use hardware acceleration" was the solution for me. I can not right click on these bookmarks now.

    Thank you!

  • How can I change the bookmark/folder names?

How can I change the name of a bookmark or folder. Focused on aid, I see not a response to this specific problem.

    1. Select bookmarks > organize bookmarks.
    2. In the library window, select the bookmark or folder to rename.
    3. In the name box, change the name of the element. The change takes effect as soon as you click anywhere else.
    4. Close the library window

Another way to do is with the bookmarks bar:

    1. Choose view > sidebar > bookmarks.
    2. Right click on the bookmark or folder to rename, and then click Properties.
    3. In the name box, change the name of the element.
    4. Click Save.

  • How can I change the bookmarks in Firefox 9.0.1

When I upgraded to version 9.0.1, Firefox converted my favorites and suggested a number of them to the low "Unsorted Bookmarks". At present, the only way to bring them back on the list and get an alphabetical sort them, it is move one at a time, which is unacceptable. Not only that, but if I go to the library (how to get there, I might add, is completely counterintuitive.) bookmarks I speak do not appear yet. Something like this used fixing be trivial; now, it seems impossible. Does anyone know a quick way to do it?

You can select multiple items in the usual way with the cursor to move down or with a SHIFT left-click and right-click Ctrl left or Ctrl + A to select all.

  • I need to change a number of bookmarks (in a simple way) and wonder if it can be done simply, other than to change the properties of each one, one by one?

A site has been moved. I have a lot of bookmarks pointing to the site, with added information for each of them. Is there a way I can edit these bookmarks, simply by changing the common information, without having to do it one by one.

  • How can I get rid of the bookmark icons

On the toolbar, but ALL this favorite icons. I hate them. Do not need them.

Is there a simple setting somewhere in Firefox to handle this? If this isn't the case, it might be something they would consider to add in the future to turn them off in the options or something?

The only thing I've seen so far is an add-on that removes them from the toolbar. I would like all parties in all menus of bookmark and would rather not have to install other 3rd party applications to achieve.

I'm using the Windows version 14.0.1

Thanks in advance for any help someone can offer.

You may need to create a custom style rule to change the bookmarks Menu. You can do this by using the extension either elegant or creation/modification of a file named userChrome.css in your personal settings folder (AKA Firefox profile).

Examples of these rules are included in these discussions:

  • After the last update of FF13, I double click on the bookmark button and the window does not open, so I can edit.

When I double click the bookmark (star) button a window still down so I can change the bookmark or place it in the folder I want. Now, after the last update of FF13 (June 2012), I can click once and the page is a bookmark in the "home" folder, but when I double click nothing happens. (1) I restarted FF, did not help 2) I rebooted the computer, did not help.

You just click on the star once if the star is high already turned on to indicate that a site is bookmarked. Normally, you would click once to bookmark the current site, then click once, if you want to change the new bookmark. If you double-click and you open and close the pop-up edition.

After you enable hardware acceleration can cause problem with edit op - up doesn't work does not correctly, so in case of problems, you can disable hardware acceleration.

Are you aware that you can easily add a new bookmark to the bookmarks toolbar by dragging the tab Web site icon in the bookmarks toolbar?

Click ' drag is faster than to play with the system "save a new bookmark. BTW, it is not preferably built-in to Firefox to do what you ask about.
