Change the registry of Physikal by VBA Script
Hello
We use an Office 2003 Thinapp
We have an excelsheet which uses a VBA script to write some registry keys to change the options of the printer.
The registry keys must be written to the registry physikal.
Can someone tell me how to do?
Yes, you have to rebuild it.
You say that you already have a VBA macro that you run from Excel to change the registry; in this case, just the insulation value: merger these registry keys (as in the example of my previous post) and re-create your package ThinApp.
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt file is located in your project folder, one that is created when you capture your application.
Another approach uses callback functions if you want to change the registry at the start of your program of ThinApped and when it stops. You can read more here:

You want to change the registry to restrict limited users.
IOriginal title: backup of registry permissions.
I found a few customizations that involves changing the registry permissions rather than the entries to allow limited users to do some harmless things that seem to require an account administration.
Things like change the profiles of power and using Java.I am well aware of the importance of a key export before making changes, but which affects permissions, or just the contents of the key, if I try ot restore it? Given the format of a REG file, it seems to be just the content.
Creating a system restore point be the best way to make the backup in case I live? I think what happens if I accidentally click on the wrong thing and take away the permission rather than add it. Of course, I intend to be careful, but I never know if I'll be surprised or something and saw things. A lesson I learned at the time of the Apple II when my cat (may she rest in peace, I have not had since) jumped on the keyboard and the FUBARed the floppy disk in the computer.
Hi SlickRCBD2,
If you export a key before making changes to the registry, it will not affect the set of permissions on your computer.
I suggest you create a system restore point before making any changes on the computer.

What are the security risks by allowing a program to change the registry keys in Windows 7, without knowing what are the changes?
Hello
If you had made any changes in the registry without taking the backup copy of the registry, then there could be chances that your computer can find themselves in no situation to start and finally end up in the reinstallation of the operating system; This is why it is recommended to take a backup changed in the register of representation.
Before editing a registry key or subkey, we recommend that you export, or make a backup copy of the key or the subkey. You can save the backup copy to a location that you specify, for example, a folder on your hard drive or a removable storage device. If you make changes that you want to cancel, you can import the backup copy.
. Are what program you referring?

Due to problems of space with my installation of XP Pro, (operating system has been installed on a 4 GB partition and I did have a copy of the OS to do a new installation) I am trying to move a number of files on a mounted drive.
It is a way to search an entire record of [SPECIFY FOLDER] "C:\Program Files\" instances and replace each with "C:\Program Files\Overflow\ [SPECIFY FOLDER]" as a common discovery replace function?
Also, I'll have to move several "Common Files" files in the mounted folder 'Overflow '. The method to make learning one should help me to do both. Manually, it will take most of thousand years that all the files in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components
the files seem to have a key value have changed.I have already uninstalled and reinstalled some programs at the desired location, but many still use the "Common files" folder despite my having already changed the default installation directory path in the registry. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

One way:
- Start Regedit (start-> Run-> 'Regedit')
- Select the branch of the registry, or you are interested in changing.
- The export of this branch of the registry (file-> export) in a ".reg" file
- Use a programming editor (for example, the freeware Notepad ++) and use the "Find and replace" function to make the changes you want. Save the modified file.
- After making the changes, double-click the .reg file to fold changes in your registry.
As always, keep a backup of your original registry in case things get really bad and know how to do to restore this backup your machine should not be able to start.

Hello everyone
My Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro died today. I have "instant chat" with the support of Adobe. They asked me to change my registry key in Windows (I use XP) data from app to App Data. Now my Acrobat works fine, but I lost all THE other parameters. This includes:
My preferences in all adobe CS (including layouts of pallet etc.)
My Outlook e-mail footer
More importantly, my tags in Outlook.
These are just the programs I used in the last hours. I can't figure out how to get all these programs to point to App Data. I'm not a COMPUTER expert.
Thanks in advance!
Terri
It is a group of Vista so your talk to people who have not used XP inyears. If my memory is correct AppData (the record) was invented in Vistaand XP should be Application Data (Vista compatibility for XPprograms that use Application data it redirecting to AppData without theprogram to know). If you have changedHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserShell folders it was stupid advice from Adobe. Change it back. If it was adifferent key can validate return which key it is.--..--"terri_a" wrote in message news: 5e9ba7ba-85f6-4b2c-8ca3-07bfd6751b5f...> Hello World>> My Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro died today. How change the registry Vista so I can add my program in the default programs list?
Hello
I need help to change the register of Vista so I can't add Sibelius 5 to the list of default programs.
I need to do this for some reason when I try to open the files .sib I need to open it with a program. So why I want 5 of Sibelius.
However, when I do this, I do the normal navigation and select 5 of Sibelius in program files but nothing happens.
I was in Control Panel and was in default programs and all that stuff in there, but still it's not helping.
See you soon
Hello
We could do this in the registry, but it shouldn't. You mention that you went into default programs, but you don't mention if you have tried successfully to associate the file .sib with Sibelius. That's what I would try first.
(1) navigation to the "default programs":
In "Control Panel Home", select "Programs", then on "Default programs", choose "do a type of file always open in a specific program.
Or b:
Search "Classic view" for the "default programs". Select "Set your default programs".
2)
Scroll down the list until you see. SIB. Double-click on that. Select Browse and locate the Sibelius program.
(Note: * maybe that is your problem.) --> Make sure you browse to the EXECUTABLE file. If you access a shortcut, it will not and it may not work correctly when you try to open later.
* And you're good to go. Once it is associated with, you should be able to double-click the .sib file and run the program. Hope this helps,

I copied a file titled "windows registry editor version 5.00" to solve the problem of records but when running, got an error message that says: "cannot import c:\...\NewFolder.reg: not all data was successfully written to the registry." some keys are open by the system or other processes.
I've eliminated the "windows registry editor version 5.00" header then tried to run again.
This time, I got an error saying "cannot import c:\...\NewFolder.reg: the specified file is not a registry script." You can only import files from binary registry within the registry editor. »
What should I do now?
I can't yet create a folder. This problem started after I had the help of Norton to eliminate a problem of phishing.
Did you use one of them? The first is a zip file that does all the work for you.You have installed chrome? It's looking like a recent update of chromium may be the cause. Here are two patches.

How can I change the font color hue in a script?
I currently have a script in a pdf file to be completed.event.target.textColor = event.value < 97? Color.Red: green color;
This option enables the numbers in the red field if they are less than 97 and green if they are longer. The line works, but I would change the shade of green for a hexadecimal color. I don't know how to do it. When I put in the number, it comes back as a syntax error or does not at all. Can someone help me?
Instead of color.red or color.green, you would specify something an array of values such as:
["RGB", 100/255, 200/255, 50/255]
where 100, 200 and 50 are examples of decimal equivalents of the hexagonal, red, green and blue values, respectively. The Acrobat JavaScript reference contains more information on color charts.

Getting blue screen error after changing the registry system, how can I do a system restore
Vista system was a repair to start and got stuck on 3/3
I can't start windows or even in safe mode
I do not have a backup of drive to back up either
I tried to rename it in the registry, now I get the Blue error message on what ever I did in the registry
When a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) the system failure occurs, for most users, there not enough time to fully record what he says. the exact text is important for anyone trying to diagnose what is wrong. You can save time when the error occurs then by following the procedure described below.
If you already did it disable the auto reboot system error. This should help by allowing the time to write the code to Stop error and related information correctly. Select Start, do a right-click on computer select Properties, advanced, system settings startup and recovery, system failure and uncheck the box before automatically restarting. Re-do not enable automatic restart in the event of system failure after obtaining this information, this setting is the best left to not allow an automatic restart.
If the failure occurs during the initialization of the computer, you need to try a different approach. You can access the Advanced Options Menu of Windows on multiple computers by constantly pressing the F8 (key) key when starting and selecting the option - disable automatic restart in case of system error. This method is not always easy to use because it may be difficult to press the F8 key at the right time. Try again if it doesn't work the first time. On some computers, a different key must be used.

Change the registry after uninstall?
If I uninstall a program, it is appropriate to [or] to check the registry and remove the entries that may have been left by the uninstallation?
Generally not appropriate or necessary.
May be necessary if the installation process a bad program built.
There are many utilities that claim to clean/optimize the Windows registry, using the editing utilities can cause many problems and will do nothing to earn performance

KB2289162, cannot change the registry on giffile\shell\Open\ddeexec
KB2289162, update for Office XP, XP Pro, running 0x57A error code. I tried, got error 1402, registry key open cant HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\giffile\shell\Open\ddeexec manual installation.
View the answer posted to another thread that says to change permissions in regedit for this key. Problem is - I don't have this key. I'm just stupid maybe tired of this problem. I HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes but there is no "giffile. There is a '.gif '. Inside the ".gif" is "giffile. Inside the 'giffile' is 'C:\windows\shellnew.
I sincerely got it with this update. Each month, I end up spend the whole day trying to solve this and I'm exhausted.
Ok...
Welcome & thank you for your comments.

Failed to save the registry change
I have a Windows XP (SP3) machine in a domain environment. The computer is correctly configured in the domain environment (assuming that, because I can log in as a domain administrator and all users get the startup script ran which maps some readers for them).
I'm trying to change the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
In particular - the key: WUServer
I try to grab the WSUS server name it (i.e. http://main) (main is the name of the domain controller that is running WSUS). When I entered the value and the output of the register - then go back into the registry, the key is still a Virgin. I enter the server wsus again, exit, go back-it's empty. It just won't save.
I checked the permissions on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate and 'authenticated users' was a total control. Also, I gave myself so full control (domain\administrator). Then, I gave "everyone" full control. Just editing won't stay/save.
What could be going on here? It is the only computer in the company to behave like that.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Original title: the remote Sessions.
When you install updates security directly on a particular server or change the registry, how is it that change is not displayed when you establish a remote session on this server to another server? My agency uses retina to analyze our servers for security flaws and he always report servers for missing patches or incorrect permissions on some registry settings. When you connect directly to the server, it ends up being false positive hits. Retina establishes remote connections to all servers in the domain to conduct its analysis. This has been an ongoing battle.

How I undo these changes to the registry?
Please, Please, Please read this completely and appropriate response. I have 20 years of experience, so I understand the language, but I'm stuck here and what I don't want is a bunch of irrelevant answers to what I'm asking.
I tried to solve the problem of not being able to see the photos in Photoshop and found what appeared to be a response to several in another forum. I need change the registry with a file I downloaded. I knew to make a system restore point and thought it was all that I needed. When changes did not work, I tried to undo some changes had been made to the registry, but the restore point keeps giving me an error that it cannot restore. I am fully functional right now, but I really want to let my register changed, not knowing what has been published. This is the contents of the .reg file that I ran.---------------------Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs]"C:\\Program Files (x 86) \\Common Files\\Adobe\\Shell\\psicon.dll"=dword:00000001.[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellEx][HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.psd\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1]}@= "{0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}".[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D}]@= "Photoshop icon Manager".[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {0B6DC6EE-C4FD-11d1-819A-00C04FB69B4D} \InProcServer32]@= "C:\\Program Files (x 86) \\Common."ThreadingModel"="Apartment".---------------------Because I did backup my registry manually, I you change manually. But I don't know exactly how. I see these registry keys, but I don't know if I should remove them or not.Can you tell me how I should go about it? Can I just find and delete the keys above (I backed up my registry this time so at least if it doesn't work, I can restore it - I wish just that I had restored beforehand). Thanks for any instructions, you can provide. If you do not know, please don't answer (I say this most respectfully). In the meantime, I have no way to see the thumbnails in Explorer Windows Adobe Photoshop again and I open Photoshop and manually review all files to find the ones I want. Pain in the you know what...I'm under 64-bit Windows 8. Thank you very much.Oh and by the way, is where I got the instruction to make these changes and the Adobe.reg file I used. http://www.Josh.biz/technical-notes/view-thumbnail-images-for-Photoshop-PSD-files-in-Windows/Unfortunately, your question cannot be answered as asked. I don't know of all way to tell if these keys from registry/data amended existing registry information or were created as data and new keys. If created as new then you could just delete them, but if they have modified existing entries and then removing them could cause system problems. You can try to ask the source of the registry file you have merged to give you their provenances and their actions, but the part that there is really no way of knowing what they were doing.
