  • Turn off Windows 8 gestures/charm bar laptop Asus R500V series

Original title: FOUND RESPONSE - SEE below to turn on Windows 8 gestures/charm bar Asus notebook Series R500V

How can I disable the gestures for Windows 8, Asus Notebook (non-touchpad), series R500V? Configuration/program Panel and features I find the Asus Smart gesture file but couldn't find a way to disable - uninstall only which makes no difference in the extreme sensitivity of my movements of the mouse and the computer.

Breath, movement, or simple tap opens suddenly various applications. Not always the same, but the charms/clock/date open often even though I'm away from this part of the screen. (grrrrr!) Although I might be typing a message, etc., it unexpectedly closes the window in that I work and office switches or another program. In this case is often very frustrating and an extreme waste of time.

I see others in this forum (8 Win) with same or similar questions have solved their problem by disabling the gestures. As of yet, I was unable to find how to do this on my new laptop Asus, series R500V, using Windows 8, IE 10. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After having wasted MUCH time/gene, the response was embarrassing easy (thanks to the support of ASUS) to answer this question for me.

The problem is finally solved. No more surprises the touchpad or boring bar of charm!

Hope this answer helps someone else. Thanks to everyone for the input.

P.S. MICROSOFT: since it is an annoyance this BIG for Win8 users... I recommend that each seller of computer awareness among their clients how to activate the touchpad/charms off ASAP - before you leave the storebar!

Is it possible to uninstall the charm bar in Windows 8?

If you are having problems with tactile keys activating accidentally, you can disable this gesture for her. Whenever you need it after that, you can press Win - C, or move the mouse to the upper right.

Unfortunately, I don't have the guide disable at hand, but it shouldn't be hard to find. Good luck!

  • Could not open the charms bar using the touchscreen

I installed Win 64 8 months last on my laptop HP 2760p convertible.  Stylus input has always worked well, but touch has always been a little uneven and sometimes does not respond to the entry for a few seconds.  But the touch has really become problematic.  What's weird, is that he seems as follows: behavior weren't that occasionally and now almost always happens:

My touchscreen will be no entry of reception on the right side of the screen where the bar of charms 'lives '.  So I can not open with the key.  If I drag an area of selection on the desktop, it will end exactly at the edge of where the charms bar would be.  It seems that my touch is actually closed - out of this area of the screen.  That's exactly what this type of watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADXDu8CjCuc#t=1m48s

.  Frustrating that he says he got it solved thanks to the support of HP and won't share what is the fix.  HP support was not helpful to me.

    More information:

Recently, I uninstalled a lot of pilots (including the removal of hidden devices / ghost) for hp quicklaunch/hotkeys, video, touchscreen, touchpad.  I basically let windows install the default drivers of the gournd upward (like touch was working well last month).  Still no go.

If I rotate my screen in portrait mode, then the shot of charms bar actually seems to work (!) and the top of the screen (where the charms bar would live in landscape mode) will not receive touch input.  It seems therefore that the physical appearance of the screen.  However, he sometimes works in this area, so I know the screen is able to receive touch them there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm going crazy...

This problem appeared on my HP Sleekbook that I bought yesterday. Thought I was crazy, because the right side of the screen worked fine initially. As suggested by Robert, I have reset the calibration of the screen and that solved the problem.

  • Satellite S50-A-10V: touchpad problem - sliding charm bar

Hello, I am a very experienced user and I am extremely frustrated with the mousepad on my brand new Tosh S50.

I constantly find the "charms" bar appearing on the right side of the screen and the clock at the bottom left - for no reason whatsoever.

The mouse pointer can be in the middle of the screen, and yet it happens.
I don't think I have a faulty mouse pad, I recon it is just a design flaw.

To get closer to how many times this happens, I would say that, with every 5 minutes of using charms bar appears without reason about 20 times-, it of incredibly frustrating and distracted me from my work. I could disable the touchpad and use a mouse, but this isn't the point that I need this job!

Anyone with suggestions, or should I ask for a refund and buy something else?

    Simon

    Hello

I think you're ignoring the functions and features additional touchpad.
The touchpad seems to bear the extra gesture (multi touch). This additional touchpad can be useful in case you want to directly control some functions of the laptop.

I recommend you to read the manual (page 48) you will find information on the touchpad.
For example the kick of gesture (quickly move your finger to the left edge of the touchpad) show you recently opened apps. The straight shot opens the charm bar (search, action, start, devices, settings)

So this certainly NOT have touchpad problem_ but additional functionality.

  • Charms Bar questions about G580

After the start of several major issues now resolved, I have a problem that the charms in W8 bar appears whenever he feels like it, not only when moving to the edge of the screen. It's infuriating, especially since I downloaded a patch to disable it, which doesn't seem to work.

Any ideas on disable or lock the charms bar?

    Thank you

I don't know how to disable the charms bar, because it seems to be a fundamental element of the W8.

However, it might be useful to disable the trackpad gestures (checkbox options are in the depths of the advanced device settings) to see if that helps.

Cn settings always be enabled again if necessary.

  • Vertical side bar sensitivity HOW to stop manufacturing vertical side bar windows open and close miminized window size?

I have Vista, and when you use the vertical scroll bar to move up and down on a page, EVEN if you press the arrow above or below, or use the real vertical scroll bar window keeps minimizing it IS VERY SENSATIVE TOUCH how to stop this from happening?  It is very annoying when you think you're scrolling down and you get a MINIMISEE WINDOW in A SMALL WINDOW.

    Hello Barbara Mary,.

    1. What is the brand and the manufacturer of your computer, and the touchpad?

I suggest that you try to reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad the touchpad software installed on your computer. Reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad will take care of this issue.

    a. Click Start and type mouse in the search field.

    b. examine the left panel of the 'Properties' window and expand the option "sensitivity." Click on the option "Sensitivity to touch."

You can control and reduce sensitivity to touch.
