Clarify critical fixes Oem12c to apply

Hello everyone!

I'm testing the process of correction on a new installation of oem12c 12.1.0.4 and I have what I hope is a simple question for someone who has been around the block several times

The Oracle Critical Patch for Oct 2014 (Business Manager 12.1.0.4) shows 5 patches:

1 - database repository base

2 - Basic fusion Middleware Weblogic

3 - WHO base home 19218456 set update 1

JDBC 1822176 patch - Home Agent base - 4

5 patch systems - Plugin 19577205 home

I applied the patches 1-4 successfully, but I don't know if I need to apply the patch 5 (SYSTEM patch 'Plugin Home'). Can anyone confirm that I should NOT apply the patch Plugin House (#5) because it was already applied in update #3?

Thanks for your time!

Kathie

Yes, you certainly want to apply plugin system patch, this patch no plugins (DB, FMW, etc.) which are available in this system fixes. He will tell you, several patches will not apply, and 3 or 4 will apply.  It's normal.   To validate patches, they apply to the House of plugin (not the House WHO).   So, if your SGD is/oracle/em/who, home of plugin to the plugin db would be oracle/em/oracle.sysman.db.oms.plugin_12.1.0.6.0.

    Hello

You mean that oracle is recommended to patch OS too?

If necessary, Yes. But in the same way, you need to connect your application/database until the last level of Group of patches, you need to do with the OS (at least, your system administrator must perform) - apply the new fixes/patches.

Where can I get these corrective maintenance please... both OS and Oracle

  • How to check if a fix has been applied to the database?

It is easy to know which patches have been applied to the software with opatch lsinventory oracle. But what about the database? How will I know if the corresponding sql code has been applied?

    My real problem:

I have an environment (Linux) with 12.1.0.2.4 (so no later than patchest). If I create a new database (without worrying if I use a model predefined by default as "Generalist" or create a database of "customized") I do not see that the power supply has been applied. My theory is that the template should not have applied patch while the custom database needs.

    I checked with

    SELECT the version, State, bundle_id, patch_id, bundle_series
    OF dba_registry_sqlpatch;

but the two database returned no returned lines.

If I run datapatch it applies the patch so after that the output of the query looks like this:

    PATCH_ID VERSION BUNDLE_ID BUNDLE_SERIES STATUS

    ---------- -------------------- --------------- ---------- ------------------------------

    20831110 12.1.0.2 SUCCESS 4 PSU

but this isn't what I expected as a new database should be the most recent version of the sql scripts.

According to the README file for patch 20831110:

3.4 patch Instructions in post-installation for databases created or upgraded after the Installation of the PSU 12.1.0.2.4 in the Oracle home

You must perform the steps in Section 3.3.2 "loading change files in the SQL database" for any new or upgraded database.

  • LR CC: How can you add labels 'ABC' to multiple slides and how to apply the different transition and pan / zoom to select slides?

I want to add different labels to most of the slides.  The 'ABC' option adds the same label to all slides with includes date shot and camera settings that I don't want.   I also want to control the slides have pan / zoom.  Seems to be something pretty basic that I'm missing?

    1. by clicking on [ABC] creates the text box.  By clicking on the menu dropdown determines what appears in the box.

(and you can create multiple text boxes with different information!)

"Custom text" will appear the same on each slide. The other choice pull metadata each individual slide - "Filename", "Caption", etc.

The dialog box "Edit...". "you can create a combination of metadata to display in a box.

In the dialog box "Edit...". "Alternatively, you can create something like this, where the text {Custom} is the same before the {file name}... etc.

2 pan/Zoom is a feature very poor slide show-it is fixed and will apply to all slides without any possibility of control. Better to leave off...

  • Need help with Critical Patch Update (CPU)

Dear experts, can someone please help me with 2 questions below:

    1. is there a way that I can know what is included in the application processor and database? I tried to go through the readme files, but they do not list details of what part of the application is affected by these patches. The reason why I need this information so that we can reduce our reach for the test. Otherwise, to test all modules and it's a pain :-(

2 can we only apply the database or CPU applications or do we still need to apply together?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So what you're saying that we should ignore the application fix and just apply patches on CPU JAN 2013 db releases and there will be no problem of interoperability dependencies

Just need to make that clear.

Yes. However, it is recommended to have the latest CPU patches applied on all nodes of the layer.

    Thank you

  • Oracle Critical Patch (quarterly)

    Hi guys,.

    Based on the URL:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/alerts-086861.html

Critical patch updates are the main way to release security patches for Oracle products to customers with valid support contracts. They are released the next Tuesday of the 17th day of January, April, July and October. The next four dates are:

    July 17, 2012
    October 16, 2012
    January 15, 2013
    April 16, 2013

Question: Does means that going forward, the published dates of critical fix will be the closest for the 17th day of January, April, July and October even for 2014 and 1025 Tuesday except another notice of Oracle?

Am coming up with a document of thinking patching if the dates are set in fact now.

    Thank you

Is the General hope that Oracle will continue on this calendar? Yes. But I depend on Appendix - Oracle will announce dates for a long time in advance, so he makes too much sense to plan something unexpected in July of 2013.

  • Install the fix RAC: how patch House CRS?

    Hello

I'm new to CARS. I am currently patching my two 10g RAC node db. The fix has been applied to both nodes. I followed the instructions in the Readme file provided with the fix (CPUApr2009). He said that the CRS home need to be patched as well, but no instructions on how to do it, please help.

    Thanks in advance.

If you need to apply a hotfix to the House of Sir you can simply enter > opatch apply - oh $ORA_CRS_HOME (or what you have as a variable for that).

In order to obtain an inventory, you enter > opatch lsinventory - oh $ORA_CRS_HOME

When there is a patch that requires it to be on the CRS_HOME, it will have the appropriate instructions, such as stop cluster, etc.. And I've seen most will have a CRS and DB portiion. I think the equivalent for patches of CPU for the DB HOME bundles of CRS for the CRS HOME.

  • Apply a unified patch...

    Hello
Suppose that there are 3 database servers, but a single database and 4 application servers that host concurrent managers, Forms Server, web server (each 4 Server).
Also assume that the patch 6502082 must be applied to the entire system as described above...
    My questions:
    (1) since this patch contains a variety of needs of .sql files to be applied to the database servers. Because the database is a single, this fix should be applied only once on a database server... Shouldn't it? I think that should be... Also, should it be applied then apply it on the application servers (after the ' c' ('part of the copy") of the patch) according to Metalink Note: 181665.1 and EBS-eDoc.

    (2) the same patch should be applied four times on each application server (each with an identical APPL_TOP dir)... shouldn't it? I think that should be...

    (3) according to Metalink Note: 181665.1, on the four well known issues:
You currently have files used for the installation or the upgrade of the database
    installed in this $APPL_TOP [Yes]?

Do you currently have Java and HTML for self-service Applications files
    installed in this $APPL_TOP [Yes]?

You currently have files installed Oracle Applications form
    in this $APPL_TOP [Yes]?

You currently have simultaneous program files
    installed in this $APPL_TOP [Yes]?

Responses must be for the db Server Y, N, N, N.
Although each to apply to servers to applications N - Y, Y, Y.

    (4) because the patch is a patch NLS, which must be applied, but has not not any file .sql only one file .ldt (a few lines in the table fnd_new_messages will be inserted) and a file htm order form file must be the same as for the base lang... shouln t it? I mean first of all to the servers request, and then on the db Server (just once).

    Note: I use EBS 11.5.10
    Thank you
    SIM

    SIM,

' Apply the hotfix on the administration server (in other words, if you have APPL_TOP on the database server, apply on this first node).
How is it possible to have APPL_TOP on the db server...? If concurrent managers for example, were installed...? or...?
If not...? Then the patch should be applied to the (4) application servers, then the administrator of the server and the database update...?

If you have any APPL_TOP presented on the database server, apply the hotfix on this node first, then apply the patch on other nodes of the application. If the database is installed on this server ONLY (i.e. NO APPL_TOP on this node), just apply the fix on all nodes of the application.

    (1) at - it a patch unified who must be applied only to one or two parts of the whole system (I mean for example is on the administrator of the server or server forms and not all parts of the system)?

Corrective application must be applied on all nodes to the extent of the APPL_TOP is presented. Patches should not be applied to some nodes, unless prompted to do in the patch README file.

    (2) the Metalink Note: 181665,1 notes on the installation of patches NLS...
"When you apply the NLS patch, be sure to set the variable NLS_LANG to AMERICAN_AMERICA. , replacing the appropriate character set for your language... »
Is the above correct... before setting the approx...?
For the base, lang has no need of...?

Ignore this. Just the env for the base language file and the source NLS language and run adpatch.

Sorry, maybe stupid question... but I'm a bit confused by the whole process... (a system EBS patch)

Never be sorry and do not hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards

Clean instal Win Vista x 86 HP on new SSD now in SP2. The material is a Medion Q6600 on mother MSI7366 and NVidia GeForce 9300GS map.

Will not install KB2079403, KB2479943, KB2536275 (fail 0x800B0100) or KB2536275 (not 0x8007065E).  Suggestions how to proceed?

I tried each individually - how know one gives what error.

Run Update Readiness Tool and it says everything is OK. You run MS Baseline Security analyze and downloaded packages individual but can not understand the correct syntax to invoke manually by hand using pkgmgr. I'm stuck with a new installation of Vista precarious missing 4 critical fixes :(

I could go back and start from scratch, but I think I'll finish exactly in the same place again. Have also tried AV scans of bootable CD made on another system of trust and found no evidence of malicious software with three different products.

Is it possible to get the best diagnosis of update of windows beyond "failed with unknown cryptic error."

Any ideas what these patches have in common, which causes them to fail on my kit?

    Thank you

    Martin Brown

Thank you very much! These well made the case.

I had not had as much as to put on an AV so that it was not to blame. I have no idea why Windows Update had taken against these specific fixes - they work OK on the hard drive.

They all performed successfully, according to the newspaper.  But I came to be stuck with a 'respect' in the automatic mode of updates for the last KB2536275 tag applied. He thinks that the patch should always be applied (and running it still does not work).

Correction - it takes the system a heck of a lot of time to notice that the patch is applied and removed from the list (at least 2 reboots and the time it took me to write this letter) to do. Now, everything is good on the SSD and a nice green checkmark shows that there are no outstanding update!

Thanks again it was exactly what I need.

BTW How did you find these .msu files? When I went before all I could find were cryptic and opaque. CAB files with names absolutely inpenetrable, my question at the beginning was to know how to apply them as pkgmgr syntax is not really obvious from the help page.

They are much more user friendly they are autonomous and run after the download.
