Click to open a window

Does anyone know how to do to set up a click to open a window in Windows 7, as I have in XP as the option seems to be missing in the mouse put in place I used a MS natural Laser mouse 6000.

Thank you

Hello

If you want to configure the option with a single click in Windows Explorer to open folders, and then follow the steps below:

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Click on display
  3. Click on Options.
  4. In windows, choose the Double click radio button.

A simple click on a message header should not open a message from anywhere, but the message pane, no matter how you have the new window, existing window or a defined tab. It takes a double-click to open a message any place other than the messages pane. It can work for you now, but I think, because it's usually the cause is that your mouse is going wrong.

The first firefox will only open windows and the other will continue to add on if I open multiple tabs and others. This happened only since I've updated yesterday. I did what the first one is the latest version that I downloaded.

  • Problem with button Flash HTML Canvas document click on opening multiple browser windows

Here is the code I use. When I click on the buttons, they open a new browser window.

If I go back to the new buttons and click on them, they open two browser windows.

If I repeat the process again a click will open three windows, etc. etc.

It does in 6.1.6 Safari and in Firefox 35.0.1 but it functions correctly - just open a browser by clicking window, in Google Chrome.

What I'm doing wrong or is it a problem with the browsers themselves?

  • Yosemite MAC, when I open Firefox I get two windows, when I click on a link in mail, it opens a window not a tab.

I place the FireFox icon in the dock. When I click to open FireFox it opens two windows both to the homepage. When you click on a link in the email, it will open a window behind the first window rather that open in a tab. There used to be a preference re: opening links, but given that it was useful, it seems that Apple has removed this option unless it's hidden somewhere I can't find.

What you have is, in my view, two problems.

  • Click on the links on the web sites to open two windows / a homepage that lands on top

Hello recently (last days), I noticed that clicking on links opens two windows: one being the homepage (using BING) and I have to close this tab to access my expected page.
Do not remember having this problem in recent years. Have you checked the default preference: create open new windows in a new tab instead of this and, when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately.
Both windows are open in a new window as opposed to a new tab in the same window. (clear as mud?)
It's getting a bit tedious. Is this a bug with the new version of FF?
    running: Macbook v 10.7.5 FF 40.0
    Thanks a bunch

TXS. as you suggested: worked. It was AD Block more (I got two version running at once).
    Brilliant.

  • So, most of the time Thunderbird opens only incoming messages with a double click in a new window, which I find infuriating is there a workaround or a fix for this solution?

At the start of Thunderbird, it opens the mail entering the lower panel with one click. But after an hour or two that no longer works and I have to double-click to open the message that is sent in a new window.

Looks like a bad add-on for me. Now restart the SHIFT key and see if the issue arises again.

Do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program before (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Remove the Firefox program before installation newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

    Hi nwfirefly,

I'll try from Firefox Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode. If you do not have the issue so that all your modules, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the guide to troubleshooting Extensions and themes and article troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems as well.

    Hope this helps!

On the one hand, you cannot uninstall Safari.  It comes as part of the operating system.  So, I don't know what you've done or what you think you did, but this is not that.  Could you explain more by what you mean with "I get reimage opening in a new window?  You can post a screenshot of what happens?

A thinking about it? I can't find anything in the preferences that relates. The ability to drag the bar just seems jammed.

Using El Capitan? If so, in Mail, go to preferences-> look at one and activate the option "use the classic setup."
