Clustering weblogic portal 10.3 with apache plugin

Hello

We have configured a cluster of weblogic portal 10.3 with two managed servers. We use the apache 2.2 module plugin for sending.

It seems that the plugin does not work correctly. It distributes requests only to a single server (we have tested different client machines). When you kill one of the managed servers the plugin distributed to the other server that is correct.

In the case of our test, we realized a lot of load with the two instances of two machines jmeter. All applications are dispachted to a managed server. After that the first server is running in an out of memory, the dispachted plugin to the second server managed until it flows in an out of memory. For this purpose, we have no real load balancing.

Here is our httpd.conf configuration:

Someone at - it an idea?

Incidentally we also tested with the apache 2.0 plugin that does not work also.

That make your debugging records say?
Another thing, you could try turning OFF = DyanmicServerList

  • Integration of WebLogic Portal with Lotus 8.5

    Hi all

I'm working on a project that involves the construction of an intranet Portal and the customer has 8.5 of Lotus who wants to integrate in the Weblogic Portal using wsrp portlets. More precisely, they want to have in their lotus calendar Portal portlet, portlet messaging, lotus, lotus notes portlet, lotus sametime portlet... etc. I found an old documentation and examples of this kind of portlets developed by Oracle, but they do not work because some errors when they try to retrieve the configuration of Lotus. The documentation is this one: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/point/lotusnotes/installation.html

I tried to find the authors of this documentation, or perhaps who developed the portlets and ask them if they can adapt the portlets of integration between Weblogic Portale and Lotus Notes 8.5. If someone knows about this issue or can help me with fixing the problem I have with the portlets please let me know - my e-mail is [email protected].
Thank you very much, your help is very appreciated!

I found the installer on delivery.

Go to the delivery and when you get to the media Pach search screen, select Oracle Fusion Middleware and operating system, and then click search.

On the list of results, select Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 Media Pack. Then, in the resulting list of parts, scroll down. the last one is 2nd "WebLogic Portlets for 10.3 Groupware integration for .

  • Where is the Apache plugin files?

I am trying to configure Apache to proxy connections to a cluster WebLogic 10.3. Unfortunately, I can't find the files in the module. (Using Web Server Plug-ins with WebLogic Server) documentation for the version that I use, they should be in WL_HOME/wlserver_10.3/server/plugin/linux/i686, and they must be named something mod_wl. The only files in this folder are libproxy_61.so and libproxy128_61.so, and there is no mod*.so appointed files anywhere in the installation tree. I'm sure that I chose when installing plugins, because I said just to be sure.

It's just a test for purposes of training facility, but I would still operate.

What gives? Is Apache supports default OTN downloads missing, if so, where can I get the files? Is it obsolete (as appropriate for what)? According to the docs, version 2.0 is obsolete but still supported, but version 2.2 is not obsolete. I checked on Windows and Linux, and is the same for both platforms.

    All advice appreciated!

Edit: I repeated the installation again, chose Custom and installed the plugins of web service only. While plugins for IIS and another server (files libproxy_61.so, probably of Netscape) are present there is still no trace of the Apache files.

Looking at the download site of Oracle for 10.3 there is a note indicating that Apache plugins are downloaded on [http://download.oracle.com/otn/bea/weblogic/server103/WLSWebServerPlugins1.0.1150354-Apache.zip] (reference [http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/wls_main.html]). I hope this helps.

Confirmed: City of WL 10.3 installation docs ([http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/plugins/apache.html#wp131399]):

"Install the plug-in to the shared server HTTP Apache as a dynamic object
The Apache plugin is distributed as a shared object ( .so ) for Solaris, Linux, AIX, Windows and HPUX11 platforms. The WLS 10.3 installation includes not plugins of Apache HTTP server. Server HTTP Apache plug-ins are available in a zip file separate, available from the download of Oracle and support sites. »

  • WebLogic Portal (10.3.0) requires the function "com.m7.nitrox (1.0.20)" (?)

    (I'm re-posting as WebLogic Portal (10.3.0) requires the function "com.m7.nitrox (1.0.20)" (?))

Greetings. I just installed WebLogic Portal 10.3 and I am trying to install a couple of workshop/Eclipse plug-ins, but when I select any item to install I get this error:

WebLogic Portal (10.3.0) requires the "com.m7.nitrox (1.0.20)" function, or compatible.

Everything else seems to work very well, so I don't know why my installation gives me this problem. I did a little digging already and that you have not found what can cause this problem, and I hope that someone here may be able to point me in the right direction.

    Thank you!

It is a known issue with WLP 10.3; He was approached for the next version of WLP. You may contact support to try to get a patch created (reference CR379999).

    I see 2 possible solutions:

    1. manually download the new plugin and either a) create an expansion slot on the filesystem of it and add that via Help | Software updates | Manage the Configuration, or b) extract to one of the folders workshop (tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/eclipse_3.3.2, tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/pkgs/eclipse, workshop_10.3/workshop4WP/eclipse, wlportal_10.3/eclipse) eclipse and restart the workshop.

    2. change wlportal_10.3/eclipse/features/com.bea.wlp_10.3.0/feature.xml, comment out the lines in the block , workshop to restart, and then try again.

  • Sequencer of WebLogic Portal

    HI Experts,

We are currently migrating to a CMS tailored to weblogic portal CMS, we have done the migration on the level of database by creating scripts that will insert the data from the old CMS to WLP CMS, but after migrating all data, we met a PK violation in the CM_NODE table in particular on the NODE_ID column when we try to create a new content through WLP CMS API. I discovered that the ID on this column (NODE_ID) are generated by p13n sequencer (correct me if I'm wrong). Here's my question, is there a way to modify the starting value sequencer to avoid a PK violation on the current NODE_ID on table CM_NODE? I checked the table SEQUENCER and tried to change the current value for NODE_ID but I have no chance. or is it possible to call the sequencer on an insert script? so scripts that I created will always use the ID generated by the sequencer. I hope you can help me with that. Thanks in advance!

    Villy

    Hi Villy,

WLP uses the table SEQUENCER to manage all sequences.

Simply find the entries you want to update in this table. After this operation, restart your servers WLP.

  • How to change the default properties of the Apache plugin and machine names

    Hello

    Two questions:

    1. How do change you the computer name (under services/servers too)? My problem is that I have a big cluster running on Amazon EC2, and when I add them to the Hyperic they use the FULL, i.e. "ec2-XX-XX-XX-XXX.z-X.compute-X.amazonaws.com" domain name I then manually change them to their real domain name. This involves a LOT of steps. Anyway to do this more effectively?

I just tried to change the db directly, but this does not seem to work. (Tables: eam_server, eam_service, eam_resource, eam_platform).

    2. How can I change the default settings for the Apache plugin? I run Debian for PID and Exec locations are different than the default values. I was not able to find these values by default in server locations or the agent or the database anywhere.

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know a smart way to do it. As SIGAR determines the hostname by OS specific functions based on the NIC main automatically, it is difficult to manipulate the configuration.

Hi, it is possible. Search the apache - plugin.jar in your directory of the HQ Agent and extract to a folder. Then unzip it with jar - x
Modify etc/hq - plugin.xml and look for the DEFAULT_PIDFILE property. You will find an example for Apache ERS product that looks like this.

    value = "logs/httpsd. PID "/ >"

Copy of your Apache (1.3,2.0 or 2.2) of the article and adapt it to your needs, for example:

    version = "2.0".
    include = "1.3" >

    Class = "Apache20ServerDetector" / >

    Description = "Server MPM" / >

    value = "/ var/run/httpd." PID "/ >"

After that, recreate the jar with jar - c and spread the new jar file to your appropriate HQ server and directories of agents HQ.
This solution has some disatvantages, for example, if you are upgrading your versions of the Agent and the server.
If you a familiar with the development of a plugin you can create a plugin for Apache specific Debian and preconfigure all of your values.

  • ATG sticky session with Apache web server

Hi all. I use webservices module ATG remains on my local system. I send applications via the web browser that goes through Apache and typing the ATG application server. The problem is that, while on our test environments, several subsequent applications maintain the same session on my local system, each application comes with a new session id. This causes problems to test things locally that need to have a sticky session. I use poster (firefox plugin) and after the first request, I capture the cookie (esessionId in the response) and add this header cookie in subsequent applications, but the answers still have a different esessionId cookie value.

Can someone explain how the session (with the help of cookies) tracking work between Apache and ATG? I know that there is a way to allow Apache to know what cookie to take to activate the sticky session but I do not know how to configure it.

    Thank you.

If you add the url session ID and always get different sessions, it means in your application server accepts session cookies from.
    SessionId in url is limited.

When you configure apache with the plugin application server, he built in sticky session feature enabled.
I guess the question could be the cookie in the request is not sessionid or each request is get presented as new request by the plug-in.

    Peace

  • How to make development on Weblogic Portal (10.3.2)

Im trying to make Weblogic Portal development as described in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14252.pdf

But when I downloaded the latest Eclipse IDE (EPCO) Weblogic (Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse), I don't see the prospect of portal or an ro option create a portal project.
I downloaded the last EPCO (Indigo)

Am I supposed to download a specific version of the EPCO? If yes what is it?
How can I proceed with what is given in the tutorial oracle?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Eclipse and EPCO are installed as part of the installation of WebLogic Portal (at least specific installers, not generic, platform). Install WLP and you should get everything already set up and configured with the perspective WLP and publishers.

  • Migration of WebLogic Portal Portal WebCenter

    Hello
We are on the path of migrating our WebLogic Portal application to the new WebCenter Portal framework. We solved some problems, but now we are one, we do not know how to solve.
In our WebLogic Portal, we used the tag "isUserInRole' of http://www.bea.com/servers/p13n/tags/auth
We cannot find this tag or something similar in the new environment.

    < code >
    < % @ taglib prefix = "auth" uri = "http://www.bea.com/servers/p13n/tags/auth" % >
    ....
    ....
    ....
    < auth:isUserInRole roleName = "AuthenticatedVisitor" roleMap "rm" id = 'RID' = >
    .........
    .........
    < / auth:isUserInRole >
    < code >

I know, we could begin to write our own libraries of tags, but I can't believe that this is the preferred and recommended way.
Our environment to the WebLogic Portal, (WebLogic Server 10.3.2) is JDK 1.6 and JSF 1.2
and as a first step, we would like to just keep everything that's not migrate to ADF, it is a later step.
Target environment: Portal WebCenter framework 11.1.1.4.

    Can someone help, please?

    Concerning
    Edmund

Edited by: egeesken the 05.04.2011 10:07

WebCenter IS ADF... This is not a tag... It's the expression language.
You don't have to do anything special to make it work. No special necessary library, if that's what you mean.

WebCenter is nothing more than the ADF with a whole bunch of libraries top :)

The portal app tries to put a session attribute not serializable in a coherence * Web http session, which is not allowed by default. Add the following configuration to the web.xml file in your WAR file:

    consistency-preserve-attributes
    true

    consistency-distributioncontroller-class
    com.tangosol.coherence.servlet.AbstractHttpSessionCollection$ HybridController

This will allow the attributes not serializable to be stored in the local http sessions. These attributes them will not be distributed on the cluster.

  • How to change the number of default weblogic Portal port

Hi all, I would like to change the number of port weblogic portal server by default to 80 in order to test.

    (1) can I change like that
    (2) in the affirmative, please let me know how to do this.

I went to the file config.xml and search 7001, not able to find something with this number, able to see 7002. (The SSL port).

Please put some light on this.

    Thank you very much
    Peter.

    Hi Peter
    1. Yes, you can change the default port 7001 to something else.

    2. If you have default Port 7001, it will not appear in the config.xml file. There are NO labels. So yes, when you searched 7001 you find IT. If you change the default port, you will have entered as shown below. If you change the default port, these port tags are shown in the config.xml file.

    3. stop the servers. Make a backup of the config.xml file. Within the tag xml from the server, as shown below, add these 2 labels carefully. Save the config.xml file. Restart the server. NOW, this means that your administration console is running on Port 80.
    80
    true

Example of file config.xml with the default port changed to 80

    AdminServer

    AdminServer
    true
    demoidentity
    {3DES} qxEhrfmANIITdpvPld0Uvk5i/rPNDAmZ

    80
    true
    ...
    ...

NOTE: You can also change of administration Console. Choose your thinking, the servers and the AdminServer. In the main, first tab and then click on lock and change change the default port 7001 to 80. Record. Click Activate. Immedialtey you will get errror Page not found. Because the url is still having 7001. You manually change the port of the url to 80. You will again see console. If I prefer, stop the server. Edit the config.xml file. Restart the server.

  • No workspace of WebLogic in the Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3.2

    Hi all

I downloaded and installed Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3.2. This installation package has no workspace of WebLogic. This pack has 'eclipse for WebLogic 10.3.2. " has no Portal components (I want to say that we don't build portal applications in eclipse).

My question is: should I install weblogic for weblogic portal 10.3.2 workspace? Is available in the oracle site?

    Thank you

Yes, if you choose all the default values during the installation, you should get all the stuff site too. In your main menu open Eclipse IDE--> help-> on the Eclipse platform. In this window, in the background, click Installation details. In the details window, click the 4th named Plug-Ins tab. You see an array of plugins, in this kind of Plug In Name column. And look for plugins in Weblogic Portal. You should see a lot of plugins staring "Weblogic Portal... ». If you do not, the only option is to download and re - install. I am not aware of manually add the plugins portal and you can run into some questions too.

    I installed WLP 10.3.2 and I don't see the behavior you're seeing.

  • Authorization and authentication external Weblogic Portal

In our project we use Weblogic portal 10.3 and Oracle 11 g as a backend. During the creation of the field, I specified Oracle as backend. All schemas relevant portals are created in the Oracle database. For our application, we created a specific schema. In a specific scheme of project, we have the table user containing fields like username, password, e-mail, and other relevant areas. How to configure in weblogic to access this table for authentication instead of the user portal schema table? As well as I need to know, in a console of Directors if a new user is created, and then details will be stored in a table schema portal or a project schema user table? In the end, I want to configure specific project table to store the information of the user when the user created through the administrative console.

    It's urgent.

    Hi Renon
Basically, you need to authenticator custom to store and authenticate all your users to your own specific Tables DB (with information from the user). For this you need to develop custom authenticator. Please note that this has nothing to do with the portal. It's core weblogic security stuff. I have compiled a few links for you. Incase if Oracle Support, open a ticket with them have Oracle support work entirely custom authenticator sample of RDBMS that stores and authenticates users of specific set of custom tables. They will send you immediately. I hope that someone in these forums can have this example also in their personal blogs/forums.

And, Yes, you can force your custom authenticator to be one by default and to store users when you create new users in the administration Console. Essentially, when you create new users, you should see the option as to create users in what way authentication provider.
