  Came across this problem trying to put an AVI in powerpoint presentation for the school. I don't know how this happened or how to fix the error. The error indicates that windows media player is not the right codec to play the video. However, when I sent it myself and opend it upwards on another computer, which doesn't have powerpoint, it plays very well.

  I did some research as to what a codec for windows media player, that's what code and decodes the video compression. However, when I tried to download the appropriate codec file, there is nothing. Not even useful workaround solutions.

  I'm trying to import PPT slides that are stored on SharePoint in Captivate 4. If I use the dialog box to navigate to the location (via My Network Places) I get the following error message:

  Captivate has encountered an error converting the PowerPoint files bitmap images.

  If I paste the full url into the file name box I get a connection for SharePoint dialog box, but the same error occurs. If I download the file to my desktop, it is important in Captivate if this isn't something to do with the file itself.

  Has anyone successfully any PPT slides that are hosted on SharePoint in Captivate, if if I'm missing something here?

  It's an old trick, but one that can help in this matter.

  Are you able to map the Sharepoint in a way as a drive letter are assigned to it? My thinking is that may manage to Captivate probably he will respect and allowing the import.

• The problem of creating a presentation of a PPT file and editing in Captivate?

  I started several new projects in Captivate by importing a Powerpoint presentation. After importing, I am unable to change it by right clicking on a slide. When I select to either change the presentation or a slide of the captivate editor will open but when I click on save it, I get an error that says: "cannot save the presentation, please make sure that Microsoft powerpoint is running. If I have the presentation running in Powerpoint that I can't edit in Captivate that I get an error message saying the presentation cannot be displayed because it runs in powerpoint.   Seems to happen if the presentation is embedded or linked. Also happens with the PPT or PPTX files.

  Is this a known problem in 5.0?

  Let me first tell you that our code is activity masking errors (the cache instead of working on them).

  This means that you do not check the errors at all. You must at least print a log with the error message, you receive, if you get one!

  To solve your problem, you override the method prepareForDML() of the entity or entities in question. You can calculate and set the necessary attributes until they get engaged in the doDML(). Do not use doDML() because it is too late in the life cycle.

  Looks like your task involves 2 distinct things:

  (1) put Premiere Pro to recognize your .srt file

  (2) get the .srt files in a sequence of time codes of good

  For the first point, there is already a plugin that is favourable for Windows: EZTitles

  To do this, they have implemented an importer plugin that supports the .srt file type.  The importer API is described in Chapter 5 of the First Pro SDK.

  For the second point, you may be able to generate a sequence in Final Cut XML format with all the clips in the desired direction both in the sequence.  Then import the sequence in the body and the clips will appear at the right time in the sequence.

  The reason why you can not get imported WLMail dbx files is because Folders.dbx must be included in the backup. Manually recover dbx files in OE, you can export them.

  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  In Windows XP the OE User (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  Note: If any DBX file is over 300 MB, return to OE and move some messages from the folder related to a new user created folder and compact down the size of the file.
