  I have a Presario V3440TU (p/n: GS115PA #AB5) with Win XP installed on it for a few years now. I would switch to Win 7, as the Win XP from Microsoft support lifecycle policy is now complete. Unfortunately, I can find no drivers Win7 or Vista to V3440TU anywhere.

  I know, there used to be a page for V3440TU on the HP site where I could download the drivers, but it seems to have bee removed/archived now.

  I would really appreciate if comeon could direct me to a Web page or other source where I can find these drivers.

  For the network card and modem, if you do not have the drivers for them already, please click in the Device Manager. Then click on the Details tab after the first string you see.

  the video controller drivers are missing. I'm looking for PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_2782 & subsys_2A08103C & REV_4\3 & 11583659 & 0 & 11. I don't know if these are codes error or pilot ID numbers.   I am very surprised that card reader driver did not work.

  I guess you can try the XP driver for this support from your PC and driver page and see if it works (on W7 XP drivers work).  You may need to install manually as the graphics driver.

  This is the first report I received where someone said that this driver messed up the PC.

  Please read the guide on where to find the ID of the equipment once you click on the network controller device.

  You click on the network controller device.

  Then there are tabs at the top of the window. Click the Details tab.

  Now that you see a line marked property.

  There is a drop-down list that is set by default to the Description of the device

  On this line and select the second item in the list just below the label description of device and it will be labeled In the hardware Id

  Then you will see in the window after you select hardware ID's a list of characters that looks like this:

  PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_1502 & SUBSYS_1494103C

  I need you to post the first string of what you see. So I have need for this example, this line:

  Without this hardware ID, there is not a thing I can do to help you in other than to post the links to about 25 different drivers for the wireless card until you find one that works.

  The problem with this method sometimes tries too many pilots mess the registry of your operating system and can cause problems with the installation of the driver who is supposed to work.

  OK... Here's what I did. A little detective work...

  I like to use the free 7-zip file utility to extract the components of the exe files.

  When I extracted the driver who is seconded by HP for your model files that I've linked you here above, is the ID of the hardware for the Conexant Audio chip driver supports.

  So, I googled the ID of material and found several drivers having the main ID PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_4370, but they had another & SUBSYS number.

  I had to download and extract the files to a few of them until I finally found one that matches the hardware ID exactly as yours which is PCI\VEN_1002 & DEV_4370 & SUBSYS_3091103C

  In Device Manager, right click on 'Audio device on Bus High and Def', choose Update driver,

  Not to communicate,

  Install from a list or specific location,

  Select don't search, I will choose the driver to install.

  For the hardware Type select 'show all devices '.

  Remove control "Show compatible hardware" and click on 'disk '.

  Next... Navigate to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".

  Ignore XP when it complains.
  Reset.
