Complete TextField in a dialog box

I am trying to create a dialog box that will allow me to change the address of my place or simply confirm the address that appears in the dialog box by clicking ok.

Then take a look at the documentation for class of dialogue - in particular the add methods and doModal . You add a variation of a TextField, of course. Create a public method in your CustomDialog that retrieves the text of this TextField and returns to the caller and the call once the dialog box is dismissed (doModal returns).

    I saw on games like brickbreaker. They have a dialog box to come and ask you to enter your user name. I tried a little differently, but I have not had luck with it yet. Can someone point me to a tutorial or just after a line or two of code on how to do it?

    Thank you

    In your TestDialog class, add this method:

        public final class TestDialog extends Dialog{

            private EditField userNameField;

            public TestDialog(String choices[], int values[]){
                super("Enter a username", choices, values, Dialog.OK, Bitmap.getPredefinedBitmap(Bitmap.INFORMATION), Dialog.GLOBAL_STATUS);
                userNameField = new EditField("User Name: ", "", 50, EditField.EDITABLE);
                net.rim.device.api.ui.Manager delegate = getDelegate();
                if( delegate instanceof DialogFieldManager){
                    DialogFieldManager dfm = (DialogFieldManager)delegate;
                    net.rim.device.api.ui.Manager manager = dfm.getCustomManager();
                    if( manager != null ){
                        manager.insert(userNameField, 0);
                    }
                }
            }

            public String getUsernameFromField(){
              return userNameField.getText();
            }

        }

    Then change your main class to use:

            if(pw.doModal() == Dialog.OK){
                System.out.println(pw.getUsernameFromField());
            }

  • Dialog boxes for loading LVCompare

    I wrote a tool do automatic compares files I have locally and their counterparts from repository to a SVN repository.

    Due to frequent RT deplays and reuse of code on different targets, this lead to a LOT of screws can be marked as being changed even if they are logically identical.  A problem occurs when you try to package compare these files with their counterparts of repository (LV difference, compare binary not) to automatically return all VI whose changes are not "real".  I get "File not found" or other messages, which means that I have essentially sitting in front of my PC he waits for this automated work.  I can do something else with my time.

    Is there a way to delete completely and pop up dialog boxes when executing great private of LVCompare vir methods?

    If you mean the LVCompare EXE then it is not really something you can do.  If you call the LVCompare screw, then you could get away with the private method Mode without assistance, which is supposed to seek to suppress dialog boxes but I don't know what exactly as she removed.  Here's a thread were the private method is discussed.

  • How dio I remove the unwanted of dialog boxes when opening files in FM9

    Everytime I open the fm files in FM9 I am bombarded by a plethora of dialog boxes such as the ADD/EDIT VARIABLE, DITA CROSS_REFERENCE didn't intend to use. During the day, it must lead to probably over 100 clicks to get rid of these while being very annoying. Often, the work area is completely hidden by these dialog boxes. Is there a way to permanently delete these things and only open when we really want to do something like modifying a variable? Thank you very much.

    1roach,

    The feature you're looking for in FM9 is called "Workspaces." Your workspace is selected by using the dropdown in the top right of the window of FM, left minimize/maximize/close buttons. Simply set up the workspace exactly how you like it by opening the dialog boxes (or "pods") you use regularly, close the pods, you have not, fusion as the pods together as you wish, and moving everything exactly where you want. At this time, click this menu workspace and select "Save the workspace." The name that you want, and the next time that you open a document in FM, it should initiate this workspace automatically (assuming that it was the last workspace you had open... He memorizes the last workspace you used).

    For example, I put in spaces of work different for when I'm in the office or work at home (I have larger monitors at work, so I can use the space differently), but also of different workspaces for different phases of the drafting process. For example, I have a workspace for 'creation' which includes the pods for the Structure, elements, Variables, markers and cross reference. I then have a different workspace for working with graphics which has more pods based graphics, and another for the creation of index that has the pods that I use the most when indexing.

    Do a quick search in the help files of FM for "workspace." You will find a ton of info here. Indeed, if your help system is "online" mode and you select "include the results of the community" when searching, the first entry should be a blog entry titled "Workspaces in FrameMaker 9" on May 26, 2009... and the opening of the line is "Tired of loading dialog boxes, modeless, every time that you start your FrameMaker? Sounds familiar...

    Good luck!

  • When you use my laptop remotely, some dialog boxes are not completely.

    I use my HP 12 FrameMaker running ZBook. I put my default monitor. FrameMaker does not display completely all the dialog boxes. Most of the pods is finished, but some are lack of buttons completely or only show buttons partial. When the buttons are missing, sometimes you can use the Enter key to OK, sometimes not. An example of what I see is attached.020216-1.gif

    It seems that your system font settings is set to a higher value (150%?). Try changing this to a lower value. Some of the pods and FM Windows are fixed size, so that they don't grow to accept large font settings.

  • Completely disable the "Untrusted connection" dialog box

    I am a professional developer stuck behind a proxy at work. The behavior of this power of Attorney causes the SSL connection attempts get a certificate signed by my company, not the web site I try to connect to. I have no control over the proxy, so change this behaviour is out of the question.

    I need to use Firefox for a number of things and am generally fine adding exceptions for sites that I want to connect. However, some sites like github.com loading resources many other areas via SSL (CDN, Google Analytics, Gravatar, etc.). For these sites, I try to add exceptions in order to allow the company a signed, cert but I can only add to github.com, not any other sites, so even after adding an exception I'm brought back in the right to the page "this connection is untrusted". No matter how many times I try to grant a waiver, I never really get to github.com.

    Other browsers on my system are administered remotely and seem to be configured to automatically trust signed certs society. I need to know how to manually configure Firefox to always trust these certificates OR never shows me the unreliable connection dialog box and just maybe show red in the address bar when he does not trust the site cert.

    Apparently in OS X, there are at the level of the authorities of certification system. I don't know why it does not use Firefox, but I was able to export the CA company and import it in Firefox. Finally solved my problem.

    Please see title above.  This computer is really crazy.   Unable to open my Outlook.  Said dialog boxes open and must be closed before I open Outlook, but I can not find something open.  I even tried restarting the comptr.  PLEASE HELP ASAP!  Thank you.

    Rich

    This dialog box means there is an open window (somewhere maybe under your enlarged window) which must be closed before you can reopen outlook.

    If there is no visible window I open the Task Manager and check there.  If there is not, you may lose any changes and restart to clear the error.

  • Problem with finishing install Flash Player on Mac. With the completion by entering the password required dialog box stirs as if the p/w is not valid. But it works in the Adobe site.

    I am trying to install Flash player on my Mac. All the steps work as it should, to the point where I asks me to enter my password. I do this, and the dialog box moves as through the p/w were not valid. However, it works to connect you to the Adobe site. I just changed to be safe and checked again.

    There is no password required to download or install the Flash Player.  Chances are your Mac is that you have to enter his password to allow the installation to occur.

    There is probably an easy fix. I reinstalled the upgrade - no change. Council would be ppreciated

    There is a menu bar at the top right of the Lightroom screen which should say 'developing the library' and other things. If you are the menus that you do mean by "File management dialog box" then click on develop and place a check next to the library. If 'File handling dialog' means something else, I guess you need to describe more in detail.

    You can still get at the library from anywhere else in Lightroom by pressing G

  • Even in Safe Mode, minimize, restore and close is missing, even if the functions remain, and a dialog box now appears at the opening of the FF.

    Since I installed the latest update of Firefox, reduce it, restore, and close are missing visually, even if their functions are always present.

    I also started to have one of these dialog boxes asking whether or not I'd like to allow a program to make changes to my PC when I open Firefox.

    I could fix this apparently either by way of turn disable the compatibility mode setting, or by rebooting completely.

    Then, Firefox logo disappeared from the icon for a while, being replaced by the default Windows system image which is displayed under the icon of unspecified files.

    I do not know whether or not the uninstalling and reinstalling Flash Player and restart had something to do with this corrected, but at some point, she is back to normal.

  • How to stop a new dialog box to come while I get my master password?

    When I first get a Web page with a password on file Firefox invites me for the password. I was having repeated trouble with a new master password dialog box opening and taking emphasis until I have finished to enter the password.

    Now that I know what is happening I can cancel the new dialog box and complete my entry, but it is
    really annoying and distracting.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    FRED.

    Your post gave me the necessary idea. I simplified the start as much as possible by defining a blank home page. Now if I wait a few seconds a single guest, which I suppose is the one who me, disrupted for the password appears. It seems maybe because I have sites with connections saved on My Favorites bar. I intend to investigate further.

    In all cases, it is a more comfortable solution that the insertion of an add-on.

    Thanks for your help.

    FF8 cannot use the www.translink.com.au trip planner.

    Also a few other buttons on this site do the same thing, for example. On this page and train travel planner:
    http://TransLink.com.au/travel-information/services-and-timetables/buses/Route-204
    -If you click on the button 'Show time' - it does the same thing.

    A release with the troubleshooter from the site Web - no response.
    Now it is unusable and don't know what to do.

    Other than this problem only seem to work ok - FF8 so this Web site is to blame?

    Googled the problems forums and looked for a solution - it's a problem similar to mine:

    THE PROBLEM ABOVE IS NOW COMPLETELY RESOLVED.

    The site in question was the problem - NOT 8 Firefox or Linux Mint.

    The site has been fixed and now works as it should.

    If someone else gets a dialog box pop-up similar box to the above - suggest that they contact the administrator of the website the problem and inform them that their site user agent detection Web is not correctly identify your version of Firefox mobile browser and so redirecting to a mobile version, return of mobile specific markup (Content-Type).

    As mentioned above, for the temporary site issue features while it is currently set, install the extension switch from User agent.
