  MS = Microsoft, V = Visual, C = C++, R is Redistributable

  For Winroy start, this file is probably necessary.

  VCRedist_x64 is for 64-bit systems.

  Vcredist_x86 is for 32-bit systems.

  If you are running Windows 7 32 bit, just install the x 86 version.  If you have Windows 7 64-bit, you may need to install the x 64 and x 86 version. First try the x 64. I f it does not work, install the x 86 version as well.

  vcredist_arm.exe is for devices using ARM processors which are compressed as the Microsoft Surface.

  I tried to install a free trial of Extensis Suitcase last week, but for some reason any it is impossible to install. This is after I started noticing the error, but because the suitcase was not to load the two events not connect! After reading the above thread involving the suitcase, I looked in the InDesign plug-ins folder and, Lo and behold, a folder called Activation of fonts with Extensis files! I moved their and the error message was gone!

  Have you tried to reinstall the software?
  If this is not the case, check and see if gdiplus.dll is located in C:\Windows\System32. (You may need to enable hidden files)

  1) click Start
  (2) in the start search box, type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
  Click on "Run as Administrator"
  (3) at the command prompt, type:regsvr32 gdiplus.dll
  (4) restart your computer
  
  This will save the file and you can check and see if you can now start your software.

  I get the error above with several programs: MS Money, MS Office and Picasa, but not all programs. Ex: Firefox, IE

  With Microsoft office programs, I get this error and when I acknowledge the error by clicking OK, application starts normally. With Picasa, I get the error and Picasa does NOT start.

  What I have done:

  I uninstalled and reinstalled Picasa without exploitation.

  I already uninstalled the recent programs that I installed on the PC.

  I have also run the command SFC on this file and I get the answer saying "Windows Resource Protection not found any breach of integrity.

  My ideas, please help.

  When I tried to go back to a previous restore point, Windows complained that the disc has errors and should be set before any restoration. Once I corrected disk errors in planning sweeping through reboot, mscms.dll problem disappeared and everything works fine.
