Connect to a Postgre SQL to oracle database.

I'm trying to connect to a database of Postgre SQL of Oracle SQL Developer, I downloaded the drivers from http://jdbc.postgresql.org/ if the form of a jar and showed up at them in the section preferences drivers third party JDBC. Should I have a new tab connections? If someone could help it would be much appreciated.

I don't think that Postgres is supported.

  • Planning by connecting two different vesion of the oracle database

    Hi friends,

    I'm an Oracle application technical developer. I know to plan for concurrent programs in EBS. But my current project needs a migration of the EBS from another version of database data. Our Production database is oracle 9i (EBS). We are doing a project on a BI tool. Tool BI must advanced version 11g (just 11 g db, no EBS). Now my work moves some of the inventory and sales details for the 11g from 9i. I'm running a query of 9i, export the data set such as file delimited by file and using sql loader to load the data into your table looks 11 g. This process takes a lot of time like 4-5 hours daily.

    Y at - it an idea that I can do the automation or the planning of the above process. I checked all planning forums. Most of them face the automation with the same database. Please help me in suggesting an idea

    Thank you
    Vimal...

    First thought is that you should get at least to the patch terminal which is 9.2.0.8.

    But to answer your own question... Why write to a file? Create a database connection and select in the stand-alone database.

    If you had a version that is fully supported in the database, I would recommend replication with the watercourse or of change data Capture.

    Other alternatives such as external tables, too, are not available to you that you are working with an antique. An upgrade to 11g is really appropriate for this and many other reasons.

  • 10.2.0.5 Oracle database link (Linux - x 86) for MS SQL Server 2012 (x 64)

    Please guys, I really need your help on this issue.

    I tried using freetds driver but when I use db link I get this error:

    ORA-28500: connection between ORACLE and a non-Oracle system has sent this message:

    [Generic connectivity using ODBC] [S1000] [9013] error General nvITrans_BeginT - rc = - 1. Please see the log file for more details.

    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines MIXERI

    To cite that I can connect to the remote sql server through isql tool with no problem at all. I study a lot and I found no solution for this error, so to this end, I will try to find another alternative way.

    Is there another way to manage the communication link between the system of 2 DB db?

    Thank you

    Hello

    S erro coming from the ODBC side then you can try the following-

    1. change the listener.ora LD_LIBRARY_PATH for-

    (ENVS=LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/db/oracle/10.2.0/lib)

    stop and start the listener.

    2. don't you get the error even if you delete the entry-

    HS_FDS_SQLLEN_INTERPRETATION = 32

    3. get a debugging bridge route-

    -Comment the entry
    HS_FDS_TRACE_FILE_NAME = /db/oracle/10.2.0/hs/admin/MIKSERI.trc

    then the tracks go to the location by default with default names-

    /DB/Oracle/10.2.0/HS/log

    -set the level of the trace-

    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = DEBUG

    -start a new session of SQLPLUS, run select, close the session.

    -Download the trace from somewhere, it can be displayed by our care.

    It can also be an idea to install and use the 11.2.0.5 last DG4ODBC gateway that is certified with RDBMS 10.2.0.5 and available at My Oracle Support you.

    Patch 13390677: 11.2.0.4.0 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER

    which must be installed in a new and separate ORACLE_HOME.

  • Java class to connect to Oracle Database Express Edition11g and URL

    Can I use Oracle SQL Developer to do or use it as the value of the URL for the host name?

    I'm just starting to learn Java and with it, learn how to use the Oracle Database Express Edition11g and with it the Oracle SQL Developer...

    At this point, I have the Express Edition is installed and the SQL Developer installed and were able to establish a connection and to run a query and get a result.

    I use Eclipse for JAVA.  I have a work of class that performs a query on a database/table in MySQL.

    So now I'm eager to make the same use as the database Oracle Database Express Edition11g engine.

    And this means that two different versions of JAVA that I need to get the right to be able to do.

    The first is the value of the url variable.

    I now like

    String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost";

    then

    Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");

    and then

    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection (url);

    The thing I'm puzzled on is in the URL where I 'localhost' was supposed to be the term generic and not so much as the text, you should use.

    I see in Web sites like 3 connection to Oracle Database XE

    and decrease example 3-2 by specifying the URL of database using the XE Client Setup

    There I see

    JDBC:driver_type: [username/password] @[//]host_name[: port] [XE]]

    And just what is and what is not is explained here.  So what I ended up with was

    String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost";

    So if it was just a text to rest for a name I wonder just such a value or name might really where.

    I noticed that view that an app called "Oracle JDeveloper" has been used to create the values.   I don't have such a thing, or at least I don't think I do.

    Do I need?

    I have Oracle SQL DEVELOPER, where I used the following to connect to the database of the XE.

    My choice for Oracle's SQL Developer Help

    Name of connection: Connection1

    User name: Rod

    Password: myOracle11

    Host name: localhost

    Port: 1521, which is the default value

    SID: xe

    Above so I have to host name set to localhost

    Can I use Oracle SQL Developer to do or use it as the value of the URL for the host name?

    1. I do nothing

    2. While wouldn't you say it

    3. no results from the earlier assignment.

    I asked "'can I use Oracle SQL Developer to do or use it as the value of the URL for the host name?" "

    I showed the choice that I used in SQL Developer to connect to the schema.  And I was wondering, now that I had done this case those are the values that I could use in the Java class that I wrote.  The web site in the first post of this thread showed connection but he was using JDeveloper and SQL Developer.

    So I was wondering if the connection that I made using SQL Developer would do the same trick, and if I could use the values I did there.

    I'm happy to announce that YES, The values used to connect using SQL Developer work exactly like JDeveloper.

    So, given that in SQL Developer for Hostname I chose the value "localhost" "Rod" Username and password "myOracle11".

    I did the following JAVA CLASS that worked:

    package VC_2_9;

    Java for COBOL - copyright 1999 Doke & Hardgrave programmer

    import java.sql. *;

    public class DataBaseDemoOracle

    {

    Public Shared Sub main (string args [])

    {

    String CUST_LAST_NAME;

    / * String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost/visualcafe";                     */

    String url = "JDBC: thin: @localhost';"

    / * String sqlQuery = "SELECT Name, SSNo, address, telephone OF THE customer;    */

    String sqlQuery = "SELECT CUST_LAST_NAME FROM DEMO_CUSTOMERS";

    //                                               |||||||||||||||

    Try

    {

    Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");

    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection (url, "Rod","myOracle11" ");

    Statement statement = aConnection.createStatement ();

    ResultSet rs = aStatement.executeQuery (sqlQuery);

    Boolean more = rs.next ();

    (more)

    {

    CUST_LAST_NAME = rs.getString (1);

    /* */

    System.out.println ("name:" + CUST_LAST_NAME);

    more = rs.next ();

    }

    RS. Close();

    aStatement.close ();

    aConnection.close ();

    }

    catch (ClassNotFoundException e)

    {System.out.println ("Exception caught" + e) ;}}

    catch (SQLException e)

    {If (e! = null)}

    {System.out.println ("SQLException taking" + e);}

    e = e.getNextException ();

    } / / end of while loop

    } / / end of capture

    } / / main end

    } / / end DataBaseDemoOracle.java

  • Dblink Oracle to sql server, multiple database on the same server sql under a dblink

    Hi, we managed to set up an Oracle dblink to sql server and retrieve data.

    The user of sql server have been using via dblink has access to multiple databases on the same sql server

    But the question is how in oracle (if possible) prepend you the SQL access to this?

    For example:

    Sqlserver_prod has the user sqlserver_user which seems to be set up as default database sqlserver_db1

    But we have select access to sqlserver_db2

    all work well as sqlserver_user

    Select * from table_fromdb1

    Select * from dbo.table_fromdb1

    Select * from sqlserver_db1.dbo.table_fromdb1

    as does

    Select * from sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2

    more in Oracle

    Oracle_db a dblink sqlserver_prod. World connection sqlserver_user

    everything works fine

    Select * from 'table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod '.

    Select * from 'dbo '. "table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod

    But how to (if possible) access from oracle

    sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2

    without having to create a new sqlserver_db2_user referenced in a new dblink

    If oracle for oracle would be

    Select * from remote_oracle_schema.table@remote_oracle_db

    Hello

    You cannot select a table in a different SQL * database server from that to which the gateway instance connects.
    As stated in the documentation-

    Oracle® database gateway

    Installation and Configuration Guide

    11g Release 2 (11.2) for AIX 5 L Based Systems (64-bit), HP - UX

    Itanium, Solaris (SPARC 64-Bit), Linux x 86 operating system,

    and Linux x 86-64

    In the section.

    The example SQL Server multiple databases: Configuration of the modem router

    A separate instance of the gateway that is required for each SQL Server database. Each

    instance needs its own Gateway system ID (SID).

    ==========

    You will need to create a new instance of the gateway for the SQL * Server DB2 as well as a link separate db.

  • To connect to an Oracle database using oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver: error

    Hello

    I am trying to connect to an Oracle database so that we can extract information on tables, views, and packages.

    Using the Data Modeler (transformation script) API, we will add these notes to the corresponding objects in the Data Modeler.

    I'll start with this:

    importPackage (java.lang);

    importPackage (java.awt);

    importPackage (java.sql);

    java.lang.Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver");

    An error occurs when I run this code:

    test.png

    It must be something of Java...

    Someone at - it a suggestion?

    Problem solved! A colleague of mine referred to in this post: import def properties from Oracle Designer

    More in detail: it's this couple of lines:

    Copy the file ojdbc6.jar for... Directory of \datamodeler-home\jlib

    Add this line to datamodeler.conf

    AddJavaLibFile... /... /jlib/ojdbc6.jar

    I changed my file datamodeler.conf, DM rebooted and now is no longer an error when I try to use the Oracle JDBC drive.

  • I can not connect db 11g PL/SQL Developer. I want to create the new database and tables. How?

    I can't connect to the database.

    PL/SQL Developer <> Oracle SQL Developer.

    But anyway...

    >I can not log on to db 11 g

    Why not? Is it because you don't have a database to log? You cannot use SQL Developer to create a database. You will need to use the database Wizard or SQL * more to it. Or you can download a virtual appliance machine that already has an installation of database on this subject...

    If you need more assistance in obtaining a database to learn with, I wrote a little more in depth here.

  • Unable to make the connection with oracle (database sqlserver) non-oracle

    We are unable to connect with the database of sql server after you have created the dblink to the oracle server.

    tnsping everything works very well between the oracle and SQL Server for database, database

    Please provide us with the solution for this problem.

    The problem is that the HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO in theinit .ora bridge was not properly configured.

    Using the format-

    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO =//.

    has permits the connection works.

  • Problem establish Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server

    I configured dblink between Oracle and SQL Server by using the 'Oracle Database Gateway for SQL Server' method.

    I use dg4odbc and freetds, suite Doc-ID 561033.1 .

    I have my isql and osql works correctly, tsql.
    But get below error when query any table/column of Oracle sql * for the sql server database.

    Select subscription_type in Address@ITSMSP;

    ORA-28511: lost RPC connection to heterogeneous remote agent using SID = ORA-28511: lost CPP

    SID = (Description = (Address = (Protocol = TCP)(Host=localhost) (port = 1522)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ITSM-Prod)))
    ORA-02063: preceding the line of ITSMSP

    As per below track appears after the connection is a failure.
    I get this error with each table or column selection.
    I already prepare DBlink user id and password with the double quotes and link with the apostrophe.
    One thing surprised me when I close my session it request commit or rollback.
    Although I don't do anything except select.
    I already tried by setting autocommit on, but still getting the same error.

    We create the oracle for sql server before database gateway. This time, few things are different:
    1. the name of the server (on sql server database) contains a '-' hyphen.
    2. name of database server Sql contain also one '-' hyphen.
    2 sql database server for windows 64 - bit OS, prior, we used 32 bits.

    Please let me know if anyone set the Oracle database gateway using dg4odbc and freetds to sql server where the database of sql server resident in 64-bit windows machine.

    Hello
    Thanks for the information. 2.2 UnixODBC driver manager is quite old and there is now one more late 2.3.1 version available here.

    http://www.unixODBC.org/

    by clicking on the tab "Download".
    Can you download and install this version then use in the configuration instead of the 2.2 version?

    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Connect to the Oracle database on a guest VM - problem

    Hi all

    I was faced with a problem with my Oracle VM. Let me explain:

    I have a virtual machine running CentOS 6 with Oracle Database 11 g 11.2.0 installed. I want to do is use SQL Developer, Toad, SQL * PLUS the host machine that is running Windows 7 64 bit.
    The virtual machine uses a host-only adapter network connection and a bridged adapter (for when I need to use internet in the box).
    Here's the question, I can ping the virtual machine to the host without problem and also I can ping the host of the virtual machine. But I can't do tnsping between the host and the VM.

    Listening port is configured as a default (port 1521) and the tnsnames.ora in hospitality is OK, but when I tnsping it I get messages from downtime.

    Is this something related to the network between the host and the VM? Can someone seated?
    Please let me know if you need more information on.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Connect to the Oracle database - does not connect

    I am new to JAVA and for the first time that I am trying to connect to an Oracle using JAVA data. Well, I get an error when you try to connect to the database. I can see that the error doesn't that make strings passed to make the databases of connection are NULL. Thus, an error (see error below).

    Question
    How is the 'connection' varriable is NULL?
    It seems that the hold 'try' session was not executed. This session is broken?

    ERROR

    The database connection is not found: null

    stmt. Close();

    }
    }

    = END of JAVA program =.

    The try section runs very well but only partially because you get the exception "ClassNotFoundException", which means that it is impossible to load the Oracle driver class (so it does not reach the line where it says):

    Class.forName(driverName);

    You intercept this exception and then simply print a line "could not find the database connection: null". Then you let the code continue, obviously without you still initialize your variables.

    I would recommend rewriting those catch blocks throw new RuntimeException so that the code will not continue any further when an error is detected in the try or don't catch not all of them if you donot want to manage them appropriately.

    As for your problem, you probably have not added the ojdbc14.jar is to your project, and this is why it cannot find the class OracleDriver.

    Hi all

    I installed Oracle 10.2.0 Linux and My Sql installed in Windows, can someone explain me how to connect from oracle to my sql?

    Thank you
    Prakash S

    Prakash,
    You can use the database for ODBC (DG4ODBC) 11g gateway to connect to MySQL from Oracle.
    See the following notes in My Oracle Support for more details and information-

    Note to master note.1083703.1 for the Oracle Gateway products

    Note.233876.1 Connection Options abroad of banks of data and databases non-Oracle

    Note.466228.1 how DG4ODBC Setup on Linux x 86 32 bit

    Note.466225.1 How to Setup DG4ODBC (database gateway for ODBC Oracle) on 32-bit Windows
    Note.1266572.1 How to Setup DG4ODBC (gateway for ODBC Oracle database) on 64-bit Windows operating systems

    Your RDBMS 10.2 should be 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5 use DG4ODBC.

    Kind regards
