Conversion of PDF to CMYK.  Option "Convert color" is not.

How can I convert a webpage (html) as a PDF ready to print, including a RGB to CMYK conversion?

I use Acrobat DC. What I tried, is to use the browser button to convert HTML to PDF. I then open the document and go to the menu "Print Production. I expected to find the option "Convert colors", but he's not here. Help documentation indicates that this option is available only if you export your PDF file to a device "high-end". What is a high-end device? I use Windows on my laptop computer.

(Cross printing station and prepress.)

Hey tb66213760,

Open Acrobat, go to the menu help & repair installation.

Let me know if it solves the problem.

Kind regards

  • Conversion of MS Word documents with bacgrounds colors in pdf format

Forgive an Acrobat "dope", but externally, this seems to be a simple problem... I can not understand!

For work, I use Microsoft Office Word 2003 (MS Office Pro 2003) and Acrobat 8 Pro.  I have no problem to convert an MS Word doc, with the foreground, images or text, or PDF.  However, if I give any MS Word doc, a backgroundcolor, using the Format Menu > background > and then selecting a color, the color is not everywhere in the conversion to PDF-, I find myself with a standard white page, instead of color!

Where I'm going wrong?  Or is this something color background that Acrobat cannot convert, whatever I do?  I do wish to produce an effect of 'Nick' by placing a color image behind the text (which I know will work) because the size pdf files become larger I want.  I want to 'color paper' using menu of MS Word and convert it to a pdf with this same "color paper" being the result.  Is this possible?  If so, how?

Thanks in advance for any help that might be available out there...

In WORD: TOOLS > Options > Print > background color and images (I had already checked background printing, but which refers to the process of printing, not the background. Check this other does the trick. It is probably disabled by default to prevent using regular printers ink.)

  • Conversion of PDF color (in RGB)

I discovered this how to convert color to RGB using the API of Acrobat pdf pages in a custom plugin and Acrobat Pro 10:

            PDColorConvertAction colorConvertActionStruct = (PDColorConvertAction)malloc(sizeof(PDColorConvertActionRec));
         memset(colorConvertActionStruct, 0, sizeof(PDColorConvertAction));

the problem is that I get an error reading the memory violation to this line

    ...

    PDDocColorConvertPage(pdDoc, colorConvertParamsStruct, 1, NULL, NULL, 0, NULL, changed);

    ...

in fact when it performs color conversion.

Is there a reason because I get the error?

Solve you the pointer reference, that we mentioned? If this isn't the case, it's just what I expected.

Problems of conversion of PDF to MS Word document.  I managed to convert 4 files and now the subsequent files generate a "Conversion failed" error when you try to convert the file.  I have a big manuscript and I separated each chapter to help the conversion; as I said, the first 4 pieces without problem, then the conversion failure.  I tried to convert the document integer and same result.  Specifically, I bought the feature export to Word.  Please help.  I had initially export the Word Perfect PDF document and attempting to pass PDF to MS Word.

    Hi sdr2014,

I'm sorry to hear that your conversion process is at a standstill. It seems that the problem is not specific to a single file, you have been unable to convert anything, since the first four chapters of a correct conversion.

    So, let's try this:

If you want to convert via the ExportPDF site, please sign out, clear the browser cache, and then reconnect. If you use the drive, please choose Help > updates to ensure that you have installed the latest version.

Please let us know how it goes.

  • How to export the document to PDF with CMYK colors

    Hello

I use Indesign to create the journal.

When I export the document to a PDF, is not CMYK, RGB only looks like. What I can do create pdf in CMYK to print? I already tried all the compresions in export settings, but nothing has changed.

    [sory for my languade skills..]

Oh yes, I see. But the destination color profile does not need to be CMYK in his name to give you output CMYK. Try one of the ICC profiles from the beginning of the category (divided by a black line in the menu drop-down) with "Coated FOGRA27", "Coated FOGRA39", etc., and you will see that you will output CMYK ultimately (all this category ICC profiles are based CMYK output profiles).

  • Export PDF to CMYK

    Hi guys,.

Where the option when you export to PDF an Indesign file to convert all spot colors to CMYK? Is it better to convert them before for export? I have an illustration with a less 25 colors and go one by one, it's kind of tedious work, however if this is the best option I'll do.

    Thanks for any input.

    See you soon,.
    SEBS

Even if you move to step PDF and realize you have not converted to CMYK you convert in Acrobat Professional (it's easy with Acrobat 9) go in the preflight Panel and the PDF corrections and use convert to CMYK.

  • How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

After reading dozens of forum, I not yet found the answer.

I made a photo album with full-colur and b & w photos for Offset print. I want to be for the b & w grayscale avoid the hues of colors possible. It seems that InDesign does not support the shades of gray, how images become dark. Even with export without any conversion of color or the destination and/or including profiles of original colors, the images are exported to obscurity as a PDF to grayscale.

How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

Yes, Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same

This can become difficult because 3 programs manage proofing differently.

Work spaces don't matter, document profiles that handle the preview. So here's the same image in grayscale, placed in the ID on the top and PS on the bottom. I put my info in Photoshop to display the profile of doc in the lower left corner. I can see the profile of my InDesign CMYK Document in my test format (CMYK work is different and is not used). The two profiles are actually the same coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of the PS).

But the previews do not match because I disabled, so the preview InDesign is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview overprinting.

If I turn on overprint preview, I get a match because I'm soft proofing for printing:

  • Adobe employees: view > tools > print > convert colors

Don't quite get your view > tools > print > convert colors dialogue.

I expect that if it worked all the files with tag (left column) would display correctly.

But in all the tests it seems that everything what is happening is that my profiles are stripped.

Can possibly let me know what I can be missing as nobody else seems to be able to?

Here is my control .pdf download:

    gballard.net/Photoshop/pdi_download/PDI_Color_Profile_Test.pdf

Here is how it displays Acrobat Pro 10.1.5 (as expected):

Left column is tagged as (good as expected appears).

Right column is Untaggged as shown (unmanaged screens).

I think I have the .pdf of Photoshop and a workflow to convert the ironed out successful colors

I posted what I hope, it's a more useful tutorial Acrobat covering:

    2. and a workflow proven to make a simple Source of Photoshop type > conversion of Destination using Acrobat convert colors

I moved my tutorial PHOTOSHOP PDF BUG previously it to another page (it is related to the top)

  • Boxes, unwanted in PDF in CMYK format is disabled

When we generate PDFs with FrameMaker 10 uncheck us the box "Convert CMYK to RGB color" in order to get our colors to display/print correctly.  However, if this is not checked half of our staff are having a different problem: display boxes around the text in the headers. It seems to be an overview of these table cells.  We have all the headers of tables. But even if specifically, we select these cells and large lines set to None or white, lines still appear in the PDF file. The lines are not displayed in the Master Pages or the Pages of body.  Because it happens that for some people, it seems a matter of adjustment. A person can generate a PDF file and lines appear and another person can genereate a PDF from the same FM project and the lines are not displayed. Any ideas a setting that we can pick up.

All your systems are on the same version of FM10? CMYK issues have been addressed (as Dov mentions) in the 10.0.2 patch available here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5296

  • Conversion of RGB to CMYK - urgent!

It is urgent, because the documents are at the printer.

I converted all the colors in the list of colors to CMYK before I sent the files, but I didn't realize that all of the colors that I had taken with the pipette were always RGB. I need a way to convert globally all colors in documents in CMYK - even the colors that aren't in the list. I searched the documentation and forums and can't see how to do this except one and it's crazy - there are dozens of colors and four documents.

    Help, please!

Hi, I hope this might help you

    1. we will first get all colors in the document listed in the Swatches palette. Go to the menu "Xtras", click in "colours", this will display the submenu of options, choose "name of all colors. No listed the colors of objects imported or created in Freehand but not named will now appear in the palette.

    2. now, with all of the colors listed... to convert this whole process CMYK select the first name of the color in the list of swatches and pressing SHIFT select a group in the list. (if you need the non-consecutive colors, press control (PC) or command (Mac))

3-have the selected color, click the active option icon (small triangle), this will display the options available for these colors, in this case you choose "Do CMYK", you will notice that the name of colors are now in italics, it means that the sample is in CMYK mode.

I have a 20 years experience prepress and it is a common mistake for designers, lucky you this is easy to fix in the Freehand drawing, I can't say the same about other graphics programs.

    Good luck

When you attempt to convert a PUBLISHER in PDF document using my Adobe Acrobat Reader DC account, I constantly get a message saying "CONVERSION FAILED." He said that the format is not supported. • Distiller will suddenly end/crash the * SECOND * time I open a file for conversion to PDF.

The subject says it all: Distiller will suddenly end/crash the * SECOND * time I open a file for conversion to PDF.

But I think I have an idea why this is happening. In general, I use Distiller to convert EPS or PS files as PDF files. In addition, almost without fault, I incorporate the required (only of Type 1) fonts directly in files EPS/PS (using the required format to PFA) so no local fonts on my computer are needed to be looked at to distill in to be embedded in the file PDF. they are already in the EPS/PS files.

But yesterday, I tried to convert EPS/PS files to PDF using Distiller in which I had NOT embedded fonts Type 1 (PFA format, of course) in the source of EPS/PS files. All first this conversion would work (in which I select "open" and choose an EPS/PS file for conversion), but after this initial conversion, the * SECOND * time I clicked "Open" the file, Distiller would immediately close/crash.

Then, I searched the web for answers and discovered that some people have trouble distilling to initialize if all their computer system fonts were read-only. So I went back to my EPS/PS files and embedded fonts Type 1 (PFA format) required in them and then - as if by magic - distill worked without a hitch: I could open and convert any number of them in succession, with distilling never close / crashing.

Then, I found the reason why distilling had been crashing at the second attempted to open a file (once again, simply by pressing the "open" button to find a file to convert, * no * after selecting a file) must have something to do with distilling scanning fonts installed on my computer, when there was no PFA font incorporated to make reference to , and a read only font on my system was the cause of the problem. However, I have looked in both places of logic where my fonts must be located (c:\psfonts and c:\windows\fonts), but found * no. attributes * files fonts defined in 'read only' so, I'm stumped.

I use Distiller Pro 10.1.1316 (acrodist.exe) on a machine to earn 8.1. I found similar positions, which dates back to 2004, about Distiller crashing immediately after opening when certain fonts are read-only; I haven't found a post about anyone successfully using Distiller to convert EPS or PS to PDF and then have the program crash when the "Open" button is pressed subsequently. The clues, anyone?

Background: Distiller Server is a product discontinued long - ago - use of Distiller server is now simply prohibited, and LiveCycle PDF Generator is available for servers.

Since you are not using Distiller Server and this forum is essentially abandoned, I recommend that you try the Acrobat - forum creation (etc.) instead.

  • How to reduce the file size or reduce the document during the conversion to PDF.

I have to download an onlind doc and can't download it if it is in PDF format.  I converted it all right, but they limit the saize equal to or less than 5 Meg file.  The file is a page, and it says it's Meg 6.3, so it won't, except the transfer of files.

    Hi speck300,

If you want to reduce the file size of a PDF document, you must use Acrobat. If you do not have Acrobat, you're certainly welcome to try for http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. Acrobat Pro, there are several options to reduce the size of the file, including the file > save as other > PDF of reduced size and file > save as other > PDF optimized.

Hi, I'm writing applescript for automating Adobe Acrobat XI, Miss me that one line of code - opening the window of dialogue of the tool «convert colors...» ». It was easy in Acrobat 9, but one reason is complicated in Acrobat XI.

Y does it have an option to add «convert colors...» "as a menu in the menu bar item?

Or you can run this JS code:
