Convert a MS WORD doc in PDF format

I need to convert a MS WORD doc into a PDF file and the PDF must be grayscale and fonts must be embedded.

I have Adobe Creative Suite 4.

Can someone tell me the detailed steps for how best to achieve this.

I'm not technical and I am not familiar with the Adobe programs since I just got them so please could you

explain that if a child because I don't understand technical jargon is.

Sorry to be a pain.

OK, I missed that.

You may need to convert images to grayscale before making the PDF file.

To do this, double-click on a graphic image and in the Format of the image window, click on the 'Image' tab and under color, select 'Gray levels', then click OK.

I hope that you have not hundreds of graphics in this file.

Using the method I described in my post of first going to embed fonts.

    1. open the doc in WORD and click on print, select the Adobe PDF printer, print.

    2. open the doc in WORD and go to the Acrobat menu in WORD and select Create PDF (this example uses PDF Maker).

    3. open the document in Acrobat and conversion to do based on PDF Maker.

See MVP Jack's response, but I would add two things:

    1. If you need a pdf authoring program, I recommend the free cutepdf.

    2. the statement "no one can open or view the attachment unless they".
use Windows Vista as well"is not correct. What operating system that they
term is not relevant, and it doesn't have to be the same operating system
than the one that you are running.

What version of Word are you running? In this case, Word 2007 or 2010, when
you save a document, the default format is not .docx. doc. If you are
send .docx (or .xlsx) files to a person running an old
version of Word or Excel, except if they have installed the Microsoft «»
Office for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 file compatibility pack
    Formats.

    or http://tinyurl.com/29f5scy

Alternatively, if you want to send files, you can save the files
in the formats .doc and .xls instead of the new .docx and .xlsx formats.
but make a "Save as" instead of a 'save' and choosing the elder
    format.

Thus, it may well be that you simply have to do the above and not worth
    sending to all .pdf files.

I feel like I'm in the wrong place to ask for a refund, but I tried to solve this problem for some time and this is where I have been guided so I hope that I am using the appropriate channel. Please can you help me ask the refund of my purchase of the PDF package? (order No.. AD015935750). I've been going in circles for months, literally, to cancel my subscription. But my account has not converted correctly, so I tried to cancel but just keep in curls, so I responded to an email asking to cancel the subscription of 3-25, which was within 30 days. I do not have a "kick back", so I assumed that the email has passed through. I was check my account for the refund and he was never treated so I looked at my mailbox and to see that I had a bounce email, specifying that the email does not, but the rejection was delayed while I haven't noticed. I've never used except that once so can I please get a full refund? I am a student who was struggling with a very fixed budget and was unable to use the PDF pack because my first document would not convert properly. Below a screenshot shows that I started the process within 30 days of the purchase. Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks in advance for your time.

  • Can you Adobe Acrobat help with import of tracking changes and comments in Microsoft Word and convert these annotations and comments in PDF format?

I have a Word doc huge with more than 3,000 of the changes and comments to track changes. I hope that there is a way that Adobe Acrobat can simplify the conversion of annotations and comments of an annotated PDF file in just a few steps - vs having to do this work manually. Appreciate the tips and recommendations! Thank you!

Acrobat and Word are quite different types of applications. Namely, Acrobat isn't a word processing application, although many people think that it is and try to use it as such. Therefore, I don't think that this is possible. Annotations in the PDF file are nothing like the changes you can make in a Word file, or vice versa.

  • Hi my free trail Adobe Acrobat has expired but is still allowing me to convert Word documents to PDF format is this suppose to happen?

Can someone explain to me the displayed question. I don't want something I'm not supposed to use. Thanks in advance

Very unlikely. You probably use an internal function in Word to save the file in PDF format.

    Exactly how you do it?

  • Embedded docs in pdf format

Convert a word with embedded docs (excel, pdf) doc to PDF.  How to integrate documents?  do not want to add attachments.

You do not have. PDF does not support MS Office like 'embed' (see ISO 32000). For those other files "travel" with the PDF file, you will want to attach them to the PDF.

Someone knows how to fix this?

If you check the fonts (ctrl-D > fonts) you will probably find that the fonts are not included and very probably you see a font substitution which may be different. You must use work print or press options to ensure that the fonts get included. At least give it a try and let us know the results.
