  Hi all

  By the use of vSphere Guide, I should be able to convert a model machine to click with the right button on the computer in the inventory and selecting model-> convert to model.  When I right click on a new, power off the virtual machine windows... from the popup menu of model is not appear.

  My user is an administrator and is added to all available groups.  What Miss me?

  Hello and welcome to the forums.

  You use vCenter, or simply connect to the ESX host with the vSphere client.  vCenter is required for models.

  We have 2 floating licenses of VMWare ESX 3.5 and run 2 R3 servers which we VI-client access.

  I would like to create a template from a virtual of Win2003 machine I just created.

  Unfortunately I don't see not all models entries in the menu.

  I miss some components or should I spend a few options?

  You need Virtual Center for this.

• "Convert a model" in the web client

  In vSphere client one of the default options for a VMguest is to "convert a model."

  I use it a lot, I have a couple of models, after a few weeks/months I convert a VM + updated everything what is necessary + convert model.

  The conversions back are almost instantaneous.

  With the web client, I can convert an existing model to become a virtual machine, but I can't find the option "convert to a model.

  This means that if I want to update a model, I find myself with a long process of "clone model" and plus my original CD VM is left behind, requires me to remove it to clean the models folder.

  If this option is not added, or have I missed something obvious?

  If indeed, it is not available, does anyone know why it's been left in the first place?

  The option convert to model in the vCenter Web Client should be available in the "All actions of vCenter" section as shown in the attached picture. (This is the Web Client 5.1).

  (2) I use this data source file to manually create a RTF model. (OK)
  (3) I have try this model rtf converts an XSL file in preparation for entry to the FO engine as following(*KO*)

  The problem is that BI Publisher Office 11g seems now create all fields of form as a reference document. You will need to correct this by selecting the field, then properties > Word properties > add Help Text > type your own.

  In order to have a virtual computer for Win 2008 R2 model, I created a standard configuration. VM and then he converted model. Now when you deploy a new machine it, I use a customization of response file I also created myself. I'm able to get a new virtual machine, but I'm still not clear if running a sysprep installation is necessary in this case OR not, as if it was the case with Win 2003, sysprep files must be added to add to the vCenter server to change the SID.

  Please help, there is much talk when I searched but I did find something compelling, some people mention after creation required standard VM and before conversion to the model manually RUNS sysprep and select "shutdown" choice, some saying Win 2008 R2, this step is not necessary, and if you use the Customization Wizard, the resulting machine will be its change of SID.

  Yes, this is the expected result when you use a customization specification - and there is a check mark in the Generate new SID.

  When you use the VMware vCenter specifications of customization for Windows machines, it uses sysprep. This is why you must manually run sysprep inside the virtual machine.

  It is essentially run sysprep.exe/generalize.

  Create a new virtual machine in Virtual Center - install the software updates that you need in this model etc etc.

  Click right of the virtual machine when you finished and chose "convert model', if you need later update it is again you can 'convert virtual machine' and update before make you a model again.

  I have a windows 2003 installed anc converted model.  a extract to deloy.cab to retrieve the sysprep command and put them in the vc for this particular OS installation folder.

  Would like that what is the impliaction if I select 'don't customize? SID differs from the existing model? The machine name is the same model.

  I say if I have windows 2003 is a SELECT MICROSOFT CD-ROM which have no CD Key, if when I select Customize, will be the system prompt me the cd key?

  The parameters are cloned as previously reported.  The name/SID all remain the same.  You can use newsid after clone you, or you can customize and run the sysprep command.  When you customize, you get the customization options, which includes the product key.  If you do not specify a key in your customization file, and there is not already a key, then you will be asked for this part of the installation.

  Our company has several need to convert a related xml files, xml files come not directly from the EBS and we EBS 11i version of BI publisher is integrated 5.6.3 in EBS. Is there anyway that we can leave the BEEP integrated to convert the xml into PDF/RTF format?

  License issues aside, yes you can. As long as the files are accessible.
  you could build a competing program of java which picks up the XML files from a location (file/web), and then calls the appropriate XMLP API function to process the document with a template (this can be stored in the model or the Disk Manager) to generate the output.

  To return to the authorization, if the data comes from the EBS schema delivered, are you in the terms of the license. If this isn't the case, then you should get a full license of Publisher.

  I have this problem of checksum. Previously I use C programming to make the sum of control but LabVIEW not having a c code function (Please correct me if I'm wrong), I would need to convert / model it C to the model of LabVIEW.

  Say I these some hex values I need to calculate a checksum (81FF, 178 b-94), and the checksum that results must be 65E2 (hexa). I tried the screw of some amount of control messages passed but am unable to get the desired result.

  Also, assume that the values I need to calculate a checksum are not in the same format, for example 81FF (hexa) 1234 (decimal), how can we able to implement a function of checksum for these two numbers?

• Can't run in parallel Invoke VMScript

  Hi all!

  I create script that convert model VM, and then run VMs converted, then Invoke VMScript. After that my script restart, stop this VMs and VMs convert to patterns.

  
  

  All operations of this I have run in parallel mode of powershell.

  
  

  But when my script tries to run Invoke-VMScript in parallel mode , my script freezes on this operation. I see only - 'Inline Script runniung'

  
  

  But if I open one of the virtual machines, I see my local script on the VM run command and it's done.

  In VM events, I see the same, command done VMScript Invoke.

  I tried to do that check 3d converted model (boxed) no luck, it looks like it's just not working DO NOT. I want this demo to burst by revealing the (car) .mov file

  under it. To not be concerned with labeled solid (patch of road), it moves out of the way by the opacity and mask path. I tried a solid and it crashes
