Convert RGB to CMYK and RGB image

Hey.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with conversion of RGB to CMYK and RGB image?

I had a TIF in RGB, then convert to CMYK, but I thought it would be best to keep in RGB, so I converted. I read that he meant to cause losses in the data, but I don't see anything in the image, it's always very huge and 2 RGB files has the same size as well. Is there a way to compare the resolution of 2 images somehow, or how I can see what I've lost through 2 conversions?

Thanks for help

Data loss, you refer relates to the compromise made when appearing in RGB colors fall outside the range of available colors printing inks. In such a case, substitutions are made in the conversion of RGB to CMYK based on your choice of the Conversion Option > intent found in Edit > color settings. The good news is that if you don't see a color change when you switch from RGB to CMYK and vice versa, this means that none of the colors in RGB mode are outside of the range of CMYK ink. I suggest that intention more appropriate for the mode switches such as the one you mentioned Relative Colorimetry is the choice more practical.

When RGB, clicking Cmd + there will show a color change if the colors are outside the range of ink. Another signal is an exclamation point beside the CMYK numbers in the info panel. To see which areas of the image are affected by the limitation of printing ink, choose View > Gamut Warning.

My current workaround is to first convert to CMYK, then shades of gray.

Does anyone know how to explain / difficulty this behavior?

    Thank you.

Since there is no apparent reason to do this - RGB to GS works in 8,16 and 32-bit mode, as well as with alpha channels and paths - it may be time to reset the preferences. You shouldn't have first convert them to CMYK, and do so can jeopardize any conversion to grayscale in addition. You have other versions of Ps on your computer to try this with. Does happen with every file or just one file in particular? Can you upload a file somewhere for someone else to test it on a completely different machine.

  • Emulator CVS displays bitmap color black and white images

I use a VBAI2009 inspection on 1454 CVS which uses a camera firewire AVT Guppy F - 036C. This system is on a production machine inspect the product we make. VBAI uses the legacy IMAQ for IEEE 1394 on a CVS not the driver IMAQ-dx cameras. The VBAI script contains several steps function color inspection. To get the AVT camera to display the color, I had to install the files of MAX camera using the Bayer color tab because Bayer settings are not accessible from the driver on the CVS IMAQ. I'm no adjustment of the camera of the VBAI. This configuration works well and has worked for 6 months on the machine of production without any problem.

Now, I need to edit the VBAI script but can't stop the machine to make the changes and test the program. I captured images bitmap using MAX during the inspection was installed 6 months ago and they stored on my host for just such an occasion. I am using these captured images and the CVS emulator in VBAI to make the changes to the program offline. I performed the inspection under the CVS emulator and the acquisition stage is configured to point to the captured bitmap images using the button Configure Simulation settings. The problem I have is that bitmaps are displayed as black & white in the emulator, even if these are images of color seen with paint. I can't find a way to fix this. Is - this problem as a result of using the parameters of Bayer to create the image color or something else in the emulator? The emulator, no installation of color image treats?

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Mark

The stages of acquisition camera record video mode information used to acquire images. If you use these steps in emulation mode, it converts the type size and the image to match what has been gained for calibration and processing step use the same type of image. Looks like than the stage thought that the image was mono, even if you got it to be color. I will consider how it could have be saved incorrectly when you use the settings of Bayer. In the short term, you can disable the acquisition stage (don't delete so you do not lose the camera settings saved in step) and use a stage of acquisition of simulation or a new phase in the acquisition of 1394 and won't force the image size/type.

    Hope this helps,

  • How to convert RGB to CMYK images in batches

    Hello

Can someone explain in a way step by step how to convert RGB to CMYK images batch?

    Thanks in advance

If you do not want to use Photoshop for the conversion of bact there are several ways, including lots and Image Procesor under the file > controller or file > Scripts of PS.

However, my preference is to use the script from Russell Brown: Image Processor Pro, via the bridge:

    http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html

Like other similar is transformative image:

Both allow you to make several conversions simultaneously, different sizes and file types and actions running before or after conversion.

  • RGB image convert to CMYK?

Hi, newbie question here with CS5. I opened a vector clip of my clip art CD and it was necessary to ensure that the image is CMYK.

    The image opens like this:

    1.PNG

Then I clicked anywhere on the image to select all the paths, and here's what I got:

    2.PNG

Then I went to EDIT/MODIFY the COLORS, but the option that says "CONVERT to CMYK" is greyed out, like this:

    3.png

So I guess that the image was already CMYK. But then when I put it in InDesign, it's apparently an RGB image. I can't say that the links Panel or the Info Panel, but my preflight Panel warned me that the image was RGB.

Finally, just as a solution, I have converted to a raster/bitmap, open in Photoshop and converted to CMYK image here. But I'd rather keep a vector image.

My goal was simply to have the CMYK image.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

File > Document Color Mode > CMYK

Then the command will not be grayed out.

On a simple 2 colors like that you can just change the colors the manual way.

    Select a drop of cyan

    Select > same fill color

Create a new color of your Swatches palette (global control so that it will be faster to make future changes to color)

  • Is it necessary to convert RGB to CMYK photos if you simply print at home?

I am new to the creative suite, and I use InDesign for a class presentation. I was told I should convert photoshop images I use RGB to CMYK for printing, but I'm just to the printing house on my little deskjet.

Second question: if it IS necessary, why make an alert in photoshop by saying 'you are about to convert to CMYK using the "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2" profile. This can ve not what you intend. "What do that mean and do I just ignore it?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

The advice you got was specifically for sending from a project to a CMYK printing press. Conversion to CMYK was the traditional requirement of these tasks, since the days when most of the images were printed and more printed images went to a CMYK press.

But it has been several years that it was true. Some InDesign workflow can use RGB images if configure you InDesign to convert to CMYK output, or if the digital press will do the conversion. Many House digital printers and newer digital printers are set up to work with RGB images. For example, you do not send CMYK images to the laboratory have printed enlargements and photo books made, you send RGB. As far as your inkjet home goes, it uses different colors as U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) CMYK (some printers use six inks or more), so conversion to CMYK is not even properly correspond with the inks used.

This is the reason why you see the alert message. It is no longer a world where convert you all images to CMYK for print, if Photoshop is to make sure that it is something you really need to do. Because if you convert to CMYK when you do not need, your images will look worse because CMYK does not provide the number of RGB colors.

  • How to automatically convert RGB objects.

I'm running a problem with preliminary controls automated when deliver PDFs for print to some of our partners, bounce, based on vector objects that use RGB color chart. My task is being intermediaries between a creative agency who designs our advertising and release to the magazines who use them for printing. I usually resize the files slightly based on the catalogue, check that related images are correct and so a minor update, it must be simple cool stuff. Unfortunately a lot of the design of our agency files use a mix of RGB and CMYK shades for objects and this has been repeatedly causing the pre-flight automated software used by one of our partners, and then I have to track down each object and convert them, reviewing the files several times if I lack. Although Illustrator is not the ideal program for print advertising, I want to solve it is much simpler, if the document is in a CMYK profile, then I never get denial for the RGB color chart, as they are converted. Is it possible to automatically check color chart RGB in InDesign, or bring marked in step of the package (seems not catch).

    Thank you!

    Makes the PDF?

It's pretty easy to define a preflight profile in the ID to the RGB color flag, and you should be able to convert a specified CMYK profile automatically on the export of color if you are using the right settings.

For the most part, this resembles that done needs of a PDF file to implement a predefined export to convert the color to the printer specified by the profile.

  • Certified PDF with RGB image. Bug?

    Hello

We have a problem with a certain document created in InDesign CS5 on some Snow Leopard machines. It is a brochure in color, with an RGB image placed by mistake. We then print to a .ps file we then place into a control on a Pitstop server folder. This server checks and returns a certified PDF file.

The problem is that he actually approves images RGB for the CPC, worse still it converts them to CMYK without warning. When we create the .ps on some other Mac file, Pitstop control fails on the RGB image.

So I think that we have ruled out a problem with Pitstop server. What can cause this? A setting in InDesign? A bug in the operating system?

    Anyone?

InDesign doesn't convert not the RGB images, that may have mistakenly been flying over in a document, an output of. PS.

I guess you set output > color to Composite leave unchanged?

Export to PDF/X-4 produces a not flattened PDF to no color conversion and all embedded profiles.

  • I noticed that some jpeg (RGB) images are not display in Internet Explorer 11, but they present very well in other browsers. In addition, the images used to display properly in Internet Explorer. No idea what is happening?

I noticed that some jpeg images are not display in Internet Explorer 11, but they display well in other browsers. I checked they are RGB images, because apparently some people accidentally use the CMYK format. IE is configured to display the images - I checked that also. The images used to display properly in Internet Explorer, and the images have not been changed on the server. The content was created using Dreamweaver CS6 and Photoshop CS6.

I tried to view the page on other computers running IE, and they also have this problem.

Any idea of what could be causing this to happen?

Thanks for looking in this people!

I discovered that prevented a few images to display in IE 11, while other images show. The culprit was Adblock Plus for Internet Explorer. Once, I disabled the software Adblock Plus missing images showed once again. Interestingly, I discovered that I could cause the same effect in other browsers using Adblock software. There is either a bug in the software of Adblock, or fluid network of Adobe system, which caused some legitimate images should be blocked. Whatever it is, they do not play well together right now. All images are stored on the same domain, and none of them related off site, so it's pretty weird that they have been blocked...

Anyway, the mystery is solved! I know people like to see a conclusion to these things as much as possible, so I'll mark this as resolved issue.

  • Value that is used when you apply a gradient to an RGB image map

    Hello:

I'm doing a classification of the color in Photoshop using the map of gradient, so the colors of certain range in the initial image corresponds to a given color chosen Gradient of.

The final product is somehow predictable if the original image is an image in grayscale. However, if the original scale is a RGB image, value that will be used to determine the color applied to each pixel of the slope?

There are several ways to calculate the luminosity of an RGB image, such as (0.2126*R) + (0.7152*G) + (0.0722*B) . I tried to use some, but none of them can be used to predict the actual color used by Photoshop to generate gradient.

Does anyone know the formula used by Photoshop to determine with a pixel RGB is the color?

    Thank you

  • is it possible to tell me how I can make program in labview that take black and with image pixels and give the coordinates of black or white pixels again to me.

    Hello everyone

is it possible to tell me how I can make program in labview that take black and with image pixels and give the coordinates of black or white pixels again to me.

It depends on the image and the module LabVIEW available to you. LabVIEW can open bitmap and png files and convert them into tables: if it's really a monochromatic (depth of 1 bit) you get a table 2D boolean, T for white, F for black. Just look at the index of the item to its details (don't forget that LabVIEW does not use the order of rows and columns, so you must transpose and reflect the table). If you have a 24 bit bitmap, the table will contain the color in hexadecimal synthesis (000000 for black, FFFFFF is white and so on); Yet once, you simply check if the element of the array correspond to your requirements and get its index.

With the vision that you module con open other pictures and perform advanced on them without convert them into tables. Anyway, you can just type the extension of your image using LabVIEW and see what you get.

Here is a code snippet to open a monochromatic image

You can do the Panning... with Photo Story 3.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    PhotoStory 3 for Windows
    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=11132
(works on XP, Vista and?) Win7?)

This is not a full tutorial, but should be enough to help you started...

First be sure that the photo is less than 7200 x 7200 pixels pixels.

Import a panoramic photo in Photo Story 3 and move on
the screen "tell your photos and customize the animation."
(do not remove the black borders)

On the left, click Custom animation...

Check the box on the screen to customize the animation...... "specify
Start and end Position of the movement "." Resize and reposition the
Start management Position and final Position you prefer and
on the left, click the Preview button to see the result.

Also you can import multiple instances of a photo and
Pan from point A to point B in the first instance,... then point B
point c on the second instance and so on.

When the effects of movement are completed you can add music if
you want and go to the screen "Save Your Story."

You can left click on the 'Settings' button for several choices of
resolution... the profile of 1024 x 768 is perhaps a good choice.

Also... Choose a backup location and a name for your video.

To save the project as a. WMV video file... click Next
    last time.

Then you can import that video as well as other photos and
video clips in DVD Maker to create your DVD. If you have
problems with the video clips you may need to convert to MP4
paste them into WMV format before importing in creation of DVD.

  • Beginner help.  Changing an image of the stock in a pure black and white image without grayscale.

I'm taking a black and white (gray scale) tigerpaw and convert it to a totally black and white image without grey scale.  I imported the image (free, unprotected) and size it.  I used the magic wand to select all areas not black and I want to just convert to white, but I can't seem to understand this.  I'm sure this is a stupid question, but the solution is to escape despite the search. Thanks for any help.

Now that you have selected all of the areas you want to edit white > fill and, in the field of use, choose white. The mixture of Normal mode.

If you wish, you can select > Inverse the selection and edition > fill with black

    Then select > deselect

It works very well.  Use the screening of high printing quality, but think about what resolution for your graphics card.  In fact if you have higher res images online versions, you can hot link to them from the PDF file.  I used to publish a magazine of the club until a couple of years, and while I've used InDesign, output to PDF format was exactly the same process

If you want to go one step further, take a look at this example, which uses the SWF to the page turn effect

I assume that your document is a good single page?  Photoshop is a clumsy tool for multi-page documents.
