Copy a file on Unix remote

Hello

When you copy the cloned system from one server to another.
I want to move a folder without tar or compress.

So I typed:

RCP - r nom_repertoire server: dest_dir

The question is: are the reserved symlinks when copying remote?

Thank you very much

No, symbolic links will not be retained.

I think you want to use the tar, due to lack of disk space? or you don't want to waste so much disk space?

You can still use tar, without actually creating archive itself: If you want to do this, you must use a command like this:

(cd & tar - cf-.) | rsh "cd & tar xvpf-.»

(Make sure you include all spaces, points, and the quotes!)

This is not an archive, but immediately redirect the output through the remote system where you will immediately "détarer", and it does not preserve symbolic links.

Kind regards

Until very recently, the operation Put copied the file on the remote server. Now it copies on the test server. I would like to change it to copy it to the remote server.

    Lony

    Hi lony,.

If you want to copy, and then you have to use oditools which is OdiFileCopy.

If you want to use scriptfile can the script file updated the directory accessible to ODI. Then use the codes below in your oscommand or odioscommand.

    /Home/lony/scrpt.sh

Sometimes you may need to use the environment variable (depending on the needs. ex: If odi can you can reach all the child directory in/home/lony but not in/home/test.).

    Thank you.

  • ORA-19846: cannot read the header of the data file of the remote site 21

    Hello

I have a situation or I can say a scenario. It is purely for testing base. Database is on 12.1.0.1 on a Linux box using ASM (OMF).

Standby is created on another machine with the same platform and who also uses ASM (OMF) and is in phase with the primary. Now, suppose I have create a PDB file on the primary of the SEED and it is created successfully.

After that is a couple of log, do it again passes to the waiting, but MRP fails because of naming conventions. Agree with that! Now, on the primary, I remove the newly created PDB (coward the PDB newly created). Once again a couple of switches of newspapers which is passed on to the wait. Of course, the wait is always out of sync.

Now, how to get back my watch in sync with the primary? I can't roll method until the required data (new PDB) file does not exist on the main site as well. I get the following error:

    RMAN > recover database service prim noredo using backupset compressed;

To go back to November 8, 15

using the control file of the target instead of recovery catalog database

ORA-19846: cannot read the header of the data file of the remote site 21

The clues on how to I go ahead? Of course, recreating the eve is an option as its only based on test, but I don't want recreation.

    Thank you.

    I tried like below:

1 a incremental backup of the primary of the CNS where off the eve also taken primary backup controlfile as Eve format.

2 copy the backup of the watch parts, catalogged them on the day before.

3 recovered Eve with noredo option - it fails here with the same error pointing to the 21 data file.

OK, understood. Try not to get back the day before first, rather than restore the controlfile and then perform the restoration.

    Make it like:

    1. take incremental backup of primary SNA, also ensures the backup controlfile format.

    2. copy pending, get the location of the data file (names) by querying v$ datafile on the eve. Restore the controlfile ensures from the backup controlfile you took on primary and mount.

    3. Since you are using OMF, the path of primary and standby data file will be different. (/). If you require catalog data from the database files pending.

(Reason: you restore controlfile from elementary to step 2, which takes place from the main access road). Use the details that you obtained in step 2 and catalog them.

    4. turn the database copy by RMAN. (RMAN > switch database to copy ;))

5 Catalog backup items that you copied in step 2.

    6. recover the standby database using 'noredo' option.

    7. finally start the MRP. This should solve your problem.

The reason I say this works is because here, you restore the controlfile to primary first, which will not have details 21, datafile, and then you are recovering. So it must succeed.

In the previous method, you tried to first collect all the day before, and then restore the controlfile. While remedial classes, always watch seeks datafile 21 as he controlfile is not yet updated.

  • SFTP a file on the remote server using ODI

I need to move the file from unix server to the location of sftp. I think that this should be possible, as I am to short odisftpput tool using autonomous agent of the unix to windows server.

However the execution fails saying not able to connect to SFTP server.

I have cross checked connection sftp unix manually, that works.

Please add entries / suggestions on this subject.

    Thank you

    Vinay

    Hi Vinay

When the STRICT_HOSTKEY_CHECKING is set to YES, the authentication is performed for this remote SSH host key in the file specified in the KNOWNHOSTS_FILE parameter. The Known_Hosts file contains the keys of all remote computers host that the user trusts. If this argument is missing, then the /.ssh/Known_hosts file is used as the Known_Hosts file if it exists.

Check with your administrator for this info. Also once run the sftp while setting on no. STRICT_HOSTKEY_CHECKING.

  • Copy Clone VM on the remote host?

We currently have a Vcenter configuration limited to 3 guests.  I am creating a system for disaster, assuming that our main centre of recovery should fail.

So, I need to program a clone of the VM are held every week - but then I need to copy this clone to a remote host which is not in the same data center, although it IS on the same network.

Is there a way to achieve side manually remove a host to Vcenter and adding remote host (4th) whenever I want to copy?

If I copy the clone on an external drive, I have to copy it again to the remote host.  It is 2 instances of copy on the network and which can last for hours.

I want to reduce it to a single copy and perhaps even automate it with a script, but I don't know everything that the CLI in ESXi.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

Understandable, I thought you wanted to just copy of VMDK but a clone first takes a snapshot of the virtual machine. This removes the lock on the base VMDK. ESXi can run rsync, but it is not supported. It is perhaps a bit over your head because you have no experience with Linux.

    http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2011/02/how-to-compile-statically-linked-rsync.html

What you could do is however if sure the source host and destination have access to the same storage. Then plan a clone to the virtual machine, but leave it turned off permanently. In the case of DR, on the other host, go to the data store, select the virtual machine folder, right-click the .vmx and say file added to the inventory. You can then restart it on another host. Or the DR host only has local storage?

What is the sequence of commands will be replaced for the above files to UNIX server

I really think you need to create a script for this command.

create a get_cvs_files.sh file and copy / paste the following content:

    #!/bin/sh
    ls -1 /n01/app/oracle/product/odi/files/*tracking.csv > /n01/app/oracle/product/odi/files/All_Files_Names.txt

  • Copy of files in the pictures ect. (vmrun as orders)

    Hello...

We are currently running VMWare server as a solution to facilitate testing our software.

This allows us to reset vmrun, copy and install the software automatically on a test image before the test.

Ive been looking around for a similar solution for ESXi to determine if we could move to this platform because it has performance benefits, and performance is something that is currently experienced on our solution at this time. Since I had almost no chance of finding the right information, I now ask here.

What we need is to be able to:

-Reset the image (restore to snapshot)

-Copy the files in the image.

    -Running applications (insallers, unzippers ect).

Everything from a remote machine (on a windows platform) via an API or the command line interface (since we can pack that in code as well).

Can anyone tell me how difficult potentially is and point to certain documents?

    Thanks in advance

  • Copy/save file for flash player

I'm trying to create a script where the user can launch a download/Save/copy of a file from my HARD drive to a flash drive. It would seem that baCopyProgressFile would be ideal for this situation, but I'm authoring on an Intel MBP and apparently not Buddy API is compatible with Intel Macs at the moment. I don't need that this projector to display on the MBP (it is really just a quick proof of concept project that is running locally), so any suggestions or alternatives would be very useful. 1 means that your path of the source file is not valid. I posted this example in the case
you wanted to copy from a subdirectory (in the case that I posted, a)
    folder named specifically "movies").
Error codes Buddy API are in the docs. I don't know what the docs
Take a Mac - mine is a Windows .hlp file
The second block I posted /should/ take care of the location of your Flash
drive * without * using lines of type Unix (which may be tripping Buddy API).

  • The behavior of copy (.png files) screen when using TextEdit and printing

I have long used the method to copy and paste texts and/or pictures to TextEdit and print files .rtf or .rtfd below:

I use the command-control-shift-4 and the cursor to select things and paste into TextEdit.

That stopped working in the Sierra.  I tried several methods (PDF format conversion, fall in Pages and Numbers, for example), but nothing worked: the Canon PIXMA MX922 printed on a white sheet and left the box of small characters with text "filter impossible."

There is no new printer driver on the Canon site; However, there is a new driver IJ Scan Utility and I downloaded it already after that installation of Sierra and the scanner works fine, as also directly print something (e.g. on the Web).

Now, after several days of testing and I was wondering, I tried this yesterday:

Instead of the above command, I used (which I do when I want to save it to the desktop) command + shift + 4.  I copied the file .png from office, dropped in the TextEdit, printed, and... IT WORKED.

Copy and leaving fall directly in the TextEdit and printing, is so not working, but let fall the same screenshot on the desktop and copy and paste into TextEdit and it print shops.

I noticed several other annoying problems to Sierra, some I've reported here (communities), some didn't.  Business-as-usual: first version of an upgrade is full of bugs, which 'disappear' in future versions, until a new update is made available, the loop continues, continues, and...

    He works here.

  • How can I copy SOME files to email from an old backup profile

I have a folder created under one of my accounts named Archive. In it I have subfolders for previous years. I discovered that they are all absent.

I have a backup months full profile, but these records of the previous year would still have their content.

How can I get these files (or therir content in my current profile that has the same name?

In the Mail subdirectory other subdirectories with the name of the account of archives and of those who should be without extension and other files with the same name but with the extension .msf. Copy these files without extension in the account called the backup Archive to the current profile.

  • Best way to copy a file in the Finder

I am really struggling with the Mac interface, after having been a user of PC/Windows for decades.  I can copy/move files in Windows Explorer with ease.  On my MacBook, this simple task seems impossible.  My goal is to copy a file from one location to a specific folder.

In the Finder, I select the file I want to copy and select 'Copy' from the Edit menu.  I then navigate to the folder that I want to place the file, highlight this folder and select "Paste" from the Edit menu.  He went to put in the parent directory of the file I selected, not the folder selected.  Tried to do this by dragging a file (which is really hard when using the touchpad).  When I fall on the folder I want, once again, place it in the parent folder.  As I was doing this on a network (WD Cloud NAS) drive, I gave up and a PC to move the files where I wanted them.

This is ridiculous.  I thought that Macs were supposed to be easy to use.  I'm almost at the point of return my MacBook to the Apple store.

    Hello

First, you should check the properties of the HARD drive. You can also do in under Computer Management disk management.
Should there have listed everything on the external HARD drive.
You could further format the disk with NTFS and check if it of possible to copy this file again.
