  I think this isn't the Windows update that caused this problem. It could be something else the cause. Windows Update never removes any of your files and folders stored in the computer.

  You can try a system restore to a previous point when the computer was working properly.

You are given the choice. You can open the image in any case, or you can let Lightroom create a copy that includes all adjustments of Lightroom and send this copy to Photoshop. In most cases, you want to make the second choice. When this warning message is displayed, I think that there is a checkbox to indicate not not to show it again. The only way that you can solve the problem would be to upgrade to Photoshop CC 2015. If not, simply select the option to edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments.
