Create a PDF template to use import Excel data

I created a 'cover' page in Acrobat. I want this to be a template where I can import Excel data and insert my signature before sending it to our customers. It is a management report. How can I do this as efficiently as possible? So far I have converted each of these Excel files to PDF from Excel, open the cover.pdf, inserted the Excel file converted and inserted my signature and the text. I think that there is an easier way to do this?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Lene,

Following link might help your question: can I import data from an Excel worksheet to a PDF form? (Create PDF)

  • Import Excel data into Form Designer

I developed a dynamic form in Livecycle designer that will be sent to hundreds of schools throughout Nebraska.  There is a table in this form that has buttons to add or remove a line while dependent students informtion can be entered in this table. How I shape now works perfect for most schools, however; with the largest schools that will enter in over 200 different lines of information, it will be a long unessarily task.  Most of these schools already have the information that we solicit in an Excel file.  Is it possible for an end user of this form, using the adobe reader software to import excel data into the table?

It is possible, but you will find may be more difficult than what it's worth.

    1. you must manipulate the worksheet to make it look like a DB

    2. you must set up an ODBC connection on the system running the form and the worksheet...

    3. you would have to change to point to the worksheet from the definition

    4. you wish Reader the form using LiveCYcle Reader Extensions to allow the ODBC connection occurs in the drive.

       - i have laod data into dev environment tables(So no risk involved, but want to try something simple)
       - Oracle version 11.1.0.7
       - Sqlplus and toad (editors)

Here's wat I want to do... .i don't know if its possible
        - Without going to unix server can i do everthing on local system by making use of oracle db and sqlplus or toad

SQLLOADER could be an option... but I don't want to go the unix server to place files and newspapers and stuff.

Wat will be the best option and the easiest to do? and wat format better convert excel csv or txt or tab delimited etc...

    Hello

Toad version 9.0.0.160, you can directly load data excel file (or any other specified) to table using the navigation "database > import > import the data in the table.
You need to connect to the database, then go to the above navigation. Select the table, validation interval (i.e. commit after each record or once all records), map columns in excel file to your table and press ok.
It loads data directly to your table.

But, if you use characters multibyte (such as Chinese) in excel file you want to load, then you must make some settings in your machine.

Don't know if its possible in another version of Toad.

  • How to create interactive pdf to Ipad using InDesign CS6

Hi I created a layout of Magazine using InDesign CS6 and wanted to be read on native Ipad reader (but not apps).  I put interactivity features like hyperlinks and page navigations and converted into interactive pdf file. The problem was the links and buttons are not displayed on the Ipad.

I tried to use Acrobat Pro to create hyperlinks, and this time the navigation and hyperlinks are. But is there a way does not create hyperlinks manually one by one (especially the next page and previous page). If I have more than 100 pages of documents, this process will be very painful.

Is there a solution to create interactive pdf directly from InDesign without creating links in Acrobat?

  • Help to import Excel data in tables preformattes

This is my first post here, so please be gentle!

I am a relatively new user of InDesign CS4, and I created the list price of the manufacturer 70 - pg.  A very large part of each page will be of size and price information source of a large Excel spreadsheet.

I created the table format I would use for each page, but the problem comes when I import the Excel data in this table.  For some reason, when I import, all this turns in a cell.  It would be preferable to import into a table not formatted and then put in the form table every time, or is there a way to simply import data into my preformatted table?  I've seen how the former, but the latter seems much easier (.. .Although that could be my inexperience talking).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you very much

To paste a range of cells in the way you want, you have most of the steps down.

The key point is to select the CELL at the top left of the area you want to paste into. See the screenshot below. The first cell in the range of rates is selected.

You may simply move the active cursor in the cell. This puts the contents of the Clipboard into this one cell.

  • Create a PDF form that fills an Excel worksheet?

Hello, I have basic experience with InDesign and you want to do something a little intimidating (not sure if it is still possible).

I'm coordinates a scholarship competition where people fill out a form and I want that data to fill an Excel worksheet. I also have these forms available so I need a way to "lock" the process of edition form.

I want to my form layout in InDesign and give him a few data fields (e.g., name, contact information, etc.) and radio buttons (for example what price category would you like to participate). There are some fields of data (for example, to provide information on your presentation) that I didn't need to fill my Excel spreadsheet.

The Excel worksheet will simply be used for administrative purposes (for example, hold how many people is competing in a specific category).

Is this possible? Tutorials online that people can direct me to? Thank you!

Yoou can create the form in the ID and then export to PDF and Acrobat allows you to convert it to a form and 'publish '. You have several options on how retrieve you the data from the published form and one is designed to allow you to fill out a worksheet, I think, but it's really a matter of Acrobat. How large will the distribution? A standard Acrobat license allows only 500 returns.

  • Can I create a PDF template (or other file) in InDesign, my client can update images?

I designed a brochure for a client, and they would like to know if I can do a version where they will be able to Exchange pictures (and text) be updated for future projects.

It's perfectly fine for me, as I take on other clients and is not able to do for them in the future. I also know how to create the text in this way, as I can implement each header and body as a separate 'form' that they can fill with reader and save... However, I don't know how it is possible to change/replace the images without having something like Acrobat.

Is it possible to create an interactive environment, they can 'download' image, and then save the PDF file? They are a small company, so I would rather not say they have to buy additional software. I also want to make it as easy for them as possible.

I am also aware, however, that even if a picture can be incorporated, a PDF file may not be able to resize an image to fit within such a framework. I can, however, write an exe file that will resize the images for them if necessary. I don't know how to get them in the PDF...

A model like this would be probably simple HTML, but unfortunately, the brochure design is beyond my ability to reproduce in Dreamweaver, and I also assume that printing an HTML document would be a nightmare for the printing industry lol.

Thanks for any help or answers, they are much appriciated

You can use the same method of forms for images, but it only gives you no control over postioning in the framework or the scale/crop update.

The key here is really that this kind of editing must be done in the ID, and if they want to they should probably invest in a license, even if it's just a subscription to the month, when they need it.

  • I created a pdf template in Illustrator. Since Acrobat Pro, need to return to the model

Hello.  I'm new to this forum.  Here's my question;  I designed a form in Illustrator.  It's a piece of evidence Art to approve Screenprinted t-shirts.  Pretty basic.  Once completed, I opened in my Acrobat 9 Pro and let the program do its thing and create text fields.  He did a great job.  I've added and modified fields.  A week ago, I tried to change something in the basic form that I created in Illustrator.  I remember right click and see something "change model".  When I clicked it, the open model in Illustrator, where I was able to change it.  From there, I closed the Illustrator of the form and return version in Acrobat, the changes were there.  This is the problem... I don't remember how I did it.  I need to make other changes to the form (model) and for the life of me, I don't know how to get the form to open in Illustrator.  I literally opened each tab and right click anywhere on the page.  No luck.  Please help me find my way back to the editable shape in Illustrator in Acrobat.  Thank you 1 million.

In Acrobat 9, you would first select the object editing, right-click on the page and select "change the subject". But this isn't the best way to do it. Should rather edit the original source document in Illustrator, generate a new PDF and in Acrobat, replace the old pages with the new ones. Any fields, links, bookmarks, code, etc. that you added will be retained.

  • How can I set the option of working "press quality" to create a PDF file by using the right click?

I need to process a large volume of PDF from Word files.

Option of work required is high quality press.

I tested the creation of PDFs in 2 ways:

Open the file in Word and PDF/Print/File and select high quality default press + save as default printer

Then I tested it by selecting several files to a directory and using the right click (convert to PDF)

Results: PDF do not have the same properties and right click PDF files have a poorer quality unsuitable for printing paper.

Do you know how to set the option of high quality for the click press right (Adobe does not use the same parameters depending on the operation)?

Go to the preferences of Acrobat. Choose the convert to PDF pane and click Microsoft Office Word. Click on change settings and from there, you get a dialog box that allows you to set the Settings Adobe PDF for such operations in batches. Select the option of high quality print and then press OK twice and you should be good to go.

  • How to create the PDF template

Hello.  I have Adobe Pro and I need to change an art file that I created in Photoshop (which I turned to PDF) so that customers can enter the page and type in their own information and add a picture.  Is this possible?  I can't find how to do this anywhere.

(it's a marketing brochure and customers have different 'contact information' and logo of the company that they're different) so I have to do so they can add their own logo and text on my art folder.

    Thanks for your help!

    Christina

Unfortunately, the method that is available with Acrobat is no longer works with the drive, but I remain optimistic that adobe can restore a day.

Acrobat Pro is shipped with LiveCycle Designer, which allows you to create another type (XFA) of the PDF form that supports an image field. A the image field allows the user to select an image (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG) to display.

  • Import Excel data into Dreamweaver

Hello everyone, I'll try to be as descriptive as I can with what I want.

In short: I would like to be able to have the date of importation of Dreamweaver (CS5) of cell A1 in the html code.

More details: I have an ever-changing list of links that I would like the list to a Web site. And have auto update it in dreamweaver everytime I update the list in excel

    for example, I put in Dreamweaver < a href = "(insert)" > link 1 < /a >

where see you (insert) I would like to be able to import the address of the link I have in cell a1 in my Excel spreadsheet.

    So overall I would like

    < a href = "(insertA1)" > link 1 < /a >

    < a href = "(insertA2)" > Link 2 < /a >

    < a href = "(insertA3)" > link 3 < /a >

    etc.

How can I tell Dreamweaver to insert this single cell in the spot in html and then move on to the list of others the same way?

I am a novice with html, css, so I use Dreamweaver for the first time to try to make this a little easier to follow.

    > Using a database that I would be able to choose certain sections of the list to be used by page

Sure. Your table may contain a column that specifies what (category) page the link should appear on. Your request for this page would include a filter that returns only relevant links.

    > What would you suggest that I use to create data bases?

You would use any DBMS provides your host. Most likely, this will be my MySQL.

  • Can you import excel data metadata to images (JPG, PSD, TIF) in bulk?

I am very new to work with metadata. I have a microsoft excel file with fields IPTC Core, that I need for each file image.

(Creator, title, Description, keywords, title, task identifier, line of credit, Source, rights and conditions of use, status of copyright and copyright notice)

Is there a way to get the metadata in the files without having to copy from a cell in each metadata field individually?

I'm hoping some type of script, perhaps...

Furthermore, if only ONE of the required fields updated in all files (i.e. the rights and terms of use) what to do?

    I bridge 5.1 (and versions previous CS3/CS4)

    This could be useful...

  • using pdf templates

My book editor provides pdf templates to use for creating book covers. These models of pdf have exact sizes that must be followed to the letter. I realize that Adobe Acrobat XI is not an editing program, so my question is how to fill the fields in Word so that the model parts exactly without extrusion beyond the fields set? If I export to Word, field sizes is accurate?

(Not sure how I can attach an example)

There are no fields, and I doubt, there should be. I suspect that they provide this model to provide information that you will need when you create the document in a program capable of layout such as InDesign, which is what we use to create this model. You might be able to do something similar in Word, but I wouldn't.
