Create your first website - part 3: adding content to pages - inserting/formatting...

text split view and if you type in a statement by the head of Mac OS x after the end of the text you want to make a header to not create one end of paragraph in the code view for me. It creates a CR LF in the code view, but not a paragraph end tag (< /p >).

I had to go into the design of the text to create an endpoint in code view.

Placing the cursor on the position "inside Tesla Motors" and clicking on heading 2 in the list format of properties also create a < h2 > < / h2 > line just below the text in Design view, there are at least two additional lines created. None of this happens as your tutorial said.DreamweaverCodeTextProblems.jpg

Any ideas?

Dave C.

Looks like you do this in Code view. You must be in design mode (or the right side of the mode split).

None of this happens as your tutorial said.

  • Error following tutorial to create your first website - part 2: creating the page layout

    I'm trying to go through the tutorial Create your first website - part 2: creating the page layout I got to the part where I'm sizing columns with the command:

    #left_column, #center_column, #right_column {width: 316px ;}}

    Simply stated ony the Central column and the right column are shorted to the 316px.  I tried to change the code as follows

    left-column {width: 316pk} #, # center_column, #right column {width: 316px :} and it does the same thing.}

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Earl Kurburski

    The CSS rules all use the selectors ID.

    Thus, as a result of the tutorial, change

    class ="left_column" > content of class "left_column" goes here

    TO

    ID ="left_column" > content of class "left_column" goes here

  • Question about CSS styles in the tutorial on creating your first website part 2

    Hello

    I am currently on the tutorial on creating your first Web site 2 part. http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_html5_pt2.html . I am creating a new CSS style for #logo h1, h2 #logo. My text does not move off the screen and the Citrus coffee still has the text header in front of him. The instructions are not very clear. Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Alexisonsmith3

    Another thing you can try to do is to change the case of your CSS tags:

    #logo hgroup {}

    position: absolute;

    top:-500px;

    }

    Definition above can be:

    #Logo hgroup {}

    position: absolute;

    top:-500px;

    }

    It is also recommended to always use lowercase letters to set all your CSS rules.

    I don't know if it will really work - but just a thought

  • Create your first website tutorial files missing and questions

    I'm working on this tutorial: http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/Dreamweaver/articles/first_website_pt3.html (With the help of Dreamweaver CC)

    I'm toward the end of part 3 of this tutorial (the part where you work with the footer) and notice that my page does not match the tutorial info. The sign of copyright is absent for one (I KNOW I put it there yesterday, but now it has disappeared).

    I tried to download the sample file first_website pt2_end.zip so that I can compare the source code and see what I've done wrong, but the file links lead me to 404 pages. http://download.Macromedia.com/pub/developer/Dreamweaver/creating-your-first-website/first _website%20pt2_end.zip

    Since I have no code to compare with, I'll probably start the tutorial all over again, just so that I can ensure that I followed all the steps correctly. * Sigh * but I thought I would ask here first.

    So my questions:

    (1) no idea what could have my copyright symbol disappear?

    (2) in this part:

    1. In the page layout section, set the clear property to left. The <footer> moves to the bottom of the page.
    2. Scroll the Document window as far as possible. You should see a light blue band below the <footer> . It's the same problem caused by the top margin on the main entry. Browsers apply top and bottom margins by default on the paragraphs, and bottom of the paragraph margin combined with zero lower margin of the <footer> and the wrapper <div> , pushing the wrapper <div> away the bottom of the page. In the section layout, the upper and lower value padding of 2px. The gap disappears (you need to scroll to the bottom of the Document window to confirm that).
    3. To align the text in the <footer> with the main <article> , set the left padding to 2

    The footer refuses to move from the sidebar box, no matter what I do. In part 2 of the tutorial he told me NOT to give the footer of ID. What might be the problem? When I create a section to make a footer, I need to create as "footer" as opposed to "#footer"? (Will try this - just think about it as I was typing this)

    Thanks for your help!

  • In FF5.0 this tab groups feature does not work: ' once you have created your first group, the of the tab group button will be added to the right end of the Strip to tabs to give you a one-click way to return to your groups.»

    The phrase in quotes in my question is instructions under "what are the groups of tabs? (Redirected from "what is Panorama?")

    If this button does not appear then you can drag it out of range of the tool bar on the tab toolbar customization window yourself.

  • Use the margin CSS-follow up of form "build your first site.

    I just finished the tutorial of DW part 6 build your first website in Dreamweaver CS4, which were great!

    Do I have a recurring problem with the 'margin' in CSS Tho files '.

    When I view my page in my browser, it is not centered (despite stating the margin: 0 auto; in the CSS page). Furthermore, when I am formatting the text in the main_image div spacing between my heading 3, heading 4 and paragraph do not respond to the commands of the margin for the corresponding CSS. Regardless of the height of setting, or margins used the text won't format because he should offered in the tutorial. The same is true even if I use margin_top:, margin-bottom: etc.

    In view of these two problem together am I missed something concerning the order of the margins. I posted all the files generated by the tutorial to the folder:

    www.malcolmshield.com/public_ftp/check_magazine/

    I've also attached the more critical (check_magazine.css & index.html)

    I'm new to the whole game, so my apologies in advance for the simplicity of the peoblem I to offer and if you can't get hold of the files to look over my code please let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

    You are having problems it is because the margin: 0 auto can be used to Center elements only if the item has a declared width. Although your container

    width, is the reason why the page isn't centering is due to a mistake in your CSS:

    #container {
    width 968px;
    background: #FFFFFF;
    margin: 0 auto;
    padding-left: 10px;
    padding-right: 10ox;
    overflow: hidden;
    }

    The colon is missing after width. It should be this:

    width: 968px;

    Without the colon, the rule is not valid and ignored.

    2015 macs (based of your signature) do need an external Setup program. Please visit https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/#/bcmp173b3bf2 . If you manually build an installer, you will encounter installation problems. Are you unable to install Windows without a flash drive? You should put the entire folder downloads manually in the Flash Player, it may have more/more large files that can accommodate a FAT32 USB key.

    It is not required for your Mac. You have already an ISO from Microsoft. The goal is for Macs where the user has a physical DVD, but the model of Mac does not have an integrated optical drive.

    BCA must ask the location of the ISO (Documents is preferable downloads) and start download the support software and start the partitioning.

  • Create your own plugin/addon

    Some time ago I found a PDF by Jim Kring I believe, who gave all the throughs execution to create your own library, it appears in the palette, your own plugin and to do appears in the Tools menu, etc. Of course I don't bookmark and it was lost in cyber space. I found the site of NIs addon part, but all I want to do is create my own plugin to display either in the Tools menu or in the background. Someone can tell me where to start (or for this PDF would be nice too).

  • Adding content

    First of all, let me say that the documentation, if it is true, is not useful.

    A task I have is to use the generic webservice to add content. I created the multipart/related content to post to the server. The content looks exactly the content (except for the exact content of the XML portion, of course) the server sends when I get a document using the webservice.

    The server doesn't. I get an error 500 with no record of anything... anywhere.

    What is the right way to go about adding content using the generic Web service?

    'standard' is out of the box. Out of the box, UCM provides a number of WSDL files that work in the style of 10 g (works also in 11 g). In a previous post, you mentioned that you use this style of web services.

    The use of these, you go to the Administration--> Soap WSDL, and you have access to all the wsdls UCM provided including the CheckIn.wsdl, which was used in my previous example.

    The documentation is included in the WsdlGenerator component, which is located with the other components of the file system. In addition, from 11 g, the docs have been moved in Schedule A (sections A6 & A7) of the same link you posted. http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E21764_01/doc.1111/e10807/a01_wsdl_and_soap.htm

    If you use the generic parameter 11g, then the documentation that you have recently published is accurate. There are a number of complete samples.
