Creating audio books

Hi people,

I am creating an audiobook. I have already registered and modified and created MP3s files, but now I need to merge them into one big file, yet maintain the separate tracks and chapter names. Then maybe save it in audio book format.

I'm brand new on hearing and it is a bit overwhelming.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Well, I mainly use Audacity. I was told I would be able to convert these files using hearing, that's why I bought it. I have the Audacity files. Wouldn't be easier just to start them? The main concern is to be able to have a big file, but still have tracks separated with Chapter information.

I don't know who told you that the hearing would do this, but they were wrong. Ordinary MP3 files, which creates hearing, do not support the markers or any kind of information of the chapter in standard - that's what you need the audio book creation software. Hearing is, of course, significantly higher than Audacity in a lot of ways, but I fear that the realization of audio books is not one of them.

What it does however, is working with the wav files to native mode. WAV files support markers and a much more 'normal' approach to the creation of audio books is to convert those properly, but as I said, this is not mandatory. There are all kinds of different pieces of software available to help you, but it is really not what you want to end up with.

  • How create Audio books-WMP12-like an Album

Is this possible? Using WMP12/Win 7 / Sansa Fuze... I currently have rip audio books (for example, a book with 9 discs). Do drag each disc "torn" to create a playlist... then sync on the ROCKET. Result: 9 different albums (1 for each disk).

Problem is that when I listen to it, the player will stop at the end of each album (disc) and I have to remind what (disc) album is planned, and then manually start this one.

This isn't a huge problem - at least I can listen to books - but it's a pain-in-the-neck on audio books for the library.

When I download audio books - via Overdrive (local library has an online allowing the download system) - books are loaded on my ROCKET as an album... so can play any book at all times.

  • Large Collection of audio book - How to manage?

I have a decently large audio book collection (probably 500 +).  Of course, I can't synchronize all, given that the complete collection does not fit on my iPhone.  The only other choice is to synchronize partially which forces me to sort through 500 + entries to find the 10 books I have on the phone at any time.  The user interface is horrible.  Why is there not a better Interface for sorting and filtering so I can actually set up my next 10 books in one minute instead of 15 minutes.  How all he does?  The only other option seems to be to remove the books from iTunes, but I don't want to lose my stats/notes.  This may not be a rare problem!

Create one or more playlists and use them to control what is synchronized to your iDevice - gives you precisely the option "set up my next 10 books in a minute."

Unfortunately, when I check the books I want to download on my iPod, it accesses books from two sources and one in the Audible icon and the other place in the icon the playlist of music on my iPod.

Where an asset appears in iTunes is determined by the media Type setting for each item.  Audio files from an external source (imported into iTunes) can get imported as songs (music), as iTunes does not know that they are audio books.  I do not understand your description of the problem, but if some of your audio books in your library of iTunes, not your library of books music audio iTunes, that's the problem.  And they will also appear on the iPod as songs, when synchronized.

If you have a large number of audio books that appear in your library iTunes music, a convenient way to fix them all at the same time is to create a new playlist and add all the audio books (which are currently considered songs) to the playlist.  In the playlist, select any item and do a select all (Ctrl-A keyboard OR menu bar Edition-> select All).  Right-click on the selection and information.  On the window information from several element, click the Options tab.  Change media kind in audiobook, then OK.  All selected items should now appear in your audiobooks to iTunes library.

NOTE: Depending on how sync you media on your iPod, you may need to remove affected audio books on your iPod first and then re - add (after they are ordered by iTunes as audio books).

If you are not able to change the Type of media, please after return.

  • Cannot advance from .wma to .wma file when the files are contained in the audio books folder

I have a few low bitrate of the things the word .wma files and load them into the folder of audio books of the Clip +.  I did this because these files seemed to be closer to an audio book than music.  I loaded the MSC mode.  There is no DRM on the .wma files.  I created a playlist .m3u files.  When I played them back, I couldn't jump between these .wma tracks.  I could fast forward and rewind through them but not to jump.  I thought it was really strange.

I ended up moving these files in the audio books folder in the music folder, and I could jump between tracks very well during playback.

I have to admit that I don't know a lot about audio books and I did a google search and I don't seem to find anything that could prevent or discourage people from being able to skip between tracks on when you listen to an audiobook.

Someone knows what's going on here or can see this problem themselves?  I'm not supposed to be able to jump between tracks in the audio books folder?

    Thanks for your help.

If you press the [down] key during playback and look at the settings, is chapter mode (Ch Mode) on or off?

If set to off, you must pause and hold the left/right button to skip tracks (I think that the purpose of this measure is to avoid accidentally changing track when you wanted to only go fast forward or rewind).

You can set Ch. Mode = we and get the behavior you expected, but it could move through a tedious track.

  • Organize files audio books / reorganization of playlists

This morning I threw the files to a new book on my 2 GB Clip.  In the folder on my computer, the files were closed all correctly, but in the video, they are completely out of order, apparently sorted randomly.  It is not alphabetical as the file name begins with the chapter number, so presumably an alphabetical appropriate would automatically default to the digital command, but this isn't the case.  The last audio book listened ordered correctly, so I wonder how the default Clip organizes the files so I can get classified correctly audiobook files.

I realize, of course, that I can create playlists of those files with Rhapsody.  I had a question about it as well.  When I tried to create playlists using Rhapsody I noticed that I could not rearrange the order of the playlists on the video.   If it's a playlist for the files on my computer I have, but on the clip, I could only remove the tracks and add titles to a playlist, and these tracks would run automatically at the end of the playlist.  So if I wanted a track to be the second piece of the playlist, I pretty much remove all tracks on the playlist to two and then add them all again.

Is there a playlist editor that works with the Clip that allows you to reorganize the estate of track on a playlist already on the clip?

The Clip of orders titles by the tag information embedded in the songs.  The artist tag, then the tag album, then track number tag, then label the name of the song.  Use a tool like MP3tag to set the tags in your audio files.

MediaMonkey allows you to rearrange the songs in a playlist.  Simply display the playlist, and then click - drag to reorganize.

  • How can you tranasfer the titles of audio book on a portable device?

I can't transfer my cd audio book onto my MP3 player.  After that I used the DTS software to convert each disc to allow the transfer of the device, I get an error message saying that the track is already on the device and I want to replace or skip it and continue with the transfer.  However, if I select one of these options, I lose the contents of disk 1.  In other words, if drive 1 has 10 tracks (named track 1, track 2, etc.) and disc 2 has also 10 titles, the same, I can only transfer the contents of one drive at a time.  Is it possible to transfer more than one cd at the time?

I tried long time back and I got a CD player built into my laptop and a USB CD drive. It worked as I created 2 folders on the desktop and copy the contents of two CDs in these files. Subsequently, I've renamed the titles.

  • Audio books and Podcasts in the Windows Media Library

I have a lot of audio books and cd courses and have recently begun to download podcasts.

For now, all this shows mixed with my music files.  Many audio books / race have a number of CDs and they appear separated.  Is it possible to have separate for Audio books and podcasts... files and separate libraries as well?  For example, it has a music library, a video library, etc.  I would like to have a library of Audio books and podcasts, so that they do not appear in the music library.

Then, if this is possible and I get it set up, how to remove these things from the music library.

    Thanks for your help!

Hello!! :) Yes! :) Click Start, and then click documents. in the left pane, click libraries. Then up, click New library. An icon appears and it automatically allows you to type the name. Enter the audio books.

After you do this, it is said that he needs you to include a folder. leave it for now and click the icon of the music. then, click new folder. Enter the audio books. Then, in music files, find all of your audio books, according to the authors, how much you have, you may have to do it one by one, but drag them to the wire music, hold and then a list appears. Move it to audio books and he lay.
Keep this up until you're all done. Click on the new icon of audio books, that you created. Click on include a folder and find the folder of audio books. Double click it and it must insert them for you. :), hope this helps!

To delete audio books in the media player, go to the library and click on organize. then click on options. The box comes up and the first open tab is the library. in that list of checkboxes, find the on that says "remove files from my computer when it is removed from the library." If it is checked, uncheck it. If this isn't the case, then let him. :)

in this way, you don't remove them completely. Then, right click on audio books and remove it. I hope this helps! :)

  • iTunes deleted 12.5.1.21 options of reading audio books

Just updated iTunes to version 12.4.3.1 on Windows 10 PC 12.5.1.21

Before the update, there are two options for reading audio books: remember the playback position and jump when brewing.  (to find these, select Get info on the audio book and choose the tab options).

In the new update, these two check boxes have been removed. I hope that the answer is because there is little (or not) users who wouldn't never want these options, and the developers of iTunes just hardcoded these options in the metadata file.

So what is the reason for their removal? If the options are always available at the place where have they been moved?

I see these options, but cannot change them and the media type is set to Audiobook. Setting Media type for music and applying, then find the article, options and change the type of media to Audiobook works but is a bit lengthy. Use iTunes Feedback or Apple Bug Reporter to Apple let know.

I bought an audio book on my Mac, but I can't find it on my iPhone. In iTunes, there is no option for audio books. Can you help me please?

    Hi, alexmassey!

Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities! After reading your post, I understand that you are having trouble locating an audio book, you recently purchased on your iPhone. I listen to audiobooks when I travel and like the comfort, so I definitely want to help you find yours!

Depending on where you purchased your audio book, you can see it in the app music on your iPhone. If she is not there, it will probably the iBooks app. The following article will give you more information on iBooks, including download after purchase.

  • I can't get an audio book to transfer to my ipod7

How can I transfer an audio book to my ipod nano 7 of my main computer

If you want to use the Auto Sync (instead of dragging the items to iPod manually in iTunes), find the iPod touch device in iTunes.  The screenshot below shows the upper left corner of my iTunes window, with touch iPod in red circle

Click this buttonto display the settings of the iPod summary screen in the iTunes window.  Along the left side, in the sidebar, under settings, click on audio books.  To the right, the parameters of audiobooks on the iPod screen.

Check the box of the books audio Sync.  This enables the automatic synchronization of audio books.  You can choose to synchronize all of the audio books, or a part of the selection .  Implement this screen as you want, and then click apply.  Go ahead, iTunes automatically updated iPod when you connect (or click sync , if already connected), to keep 'in phase' with your library of audio books (or the selected part).

NOTE: If you want songs to be on the iPod too, in the sidebar of the iPod, under settings, click on music.  Similarly set up screen settings of music from iPod (and apply).

  • Shuffle playback audio books out of use

The last two weeks, my Shuffle plays my Audible audio books out of order. They appear clearly labeled as part 1, part 2, etc... However, they end up playing in random order. I tried to do a playlist out of parts, but that did not help or the other.

The Shuffle is nearly three years. I use about 30 hours a week. Is it just the time for a new?

Last week, I bought a Nano, but even after 10 hours of changing the iTunes settings, support Windows 10 settings, chatting with Apple, and try various bugs found on various forums on Apple, I couldn't make it work. The problem with the Shuffle might be related?

The problem with the Shuffle might be related?

Hard to say without more details on the problem using the iPod nano.

For the shuffle, you should try to do a restore on the computer, using iTunes.  The problem may be caused by alteration of the data on the shuffle.  Restore erases the shuffle, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.  Try to synchronize your audio books again after the restoration.  The restore button is on the recapitulation of the shuffle settings screen in iTunes.
