  • Why the e-mail application strips the CSS background-size property but not when it is used in shorthand?

    I came across the following in the Windows 8 messaging application today, behaviors regarding CSS3 support.

    -http://blog.jmwhite.co.uk/2014/10/03/windows-8-mail-app-background-size-css-property

    -https://litmus.com/community/discussions/550-windows-8-mail-app-and-background-size

    Essentially during the development of a email campaign which make use of the background-size property, the mail in Windows 8/8.1 and same Windows 10 Technical preview application will remove altogether, when it is expressed as follows:

    background-size: 200px 200px;

    If you use the background with a shortcut property it still works OK:

    Background: URL(image-2x.jpg) 0 0 / 200px 200px no-repeat;

    Can someone explain why this behavior is present in the mail application? Is this a bug?

  • How to get the background image to fill the browser and stay fixed in IE and Firefox?

    Basically what it says in the title. I came very close to achieve, but something comes to Moor in the html and css code...

    First of all, I use the latest version of Firefox and IE8 to test this situation.

    I used 2 sources of information to get this done: 1) http://css-tricks.com/perfect-full-page-background-image/ and ) 2 http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8958697/css3-background-size-cover-doesn ' t-make-image-co-ver-vertical

    In 1 case , the example of the called page CSS-Only Technique #1 gives the code that works almost perfectly for me, except that obviously I need to a background image, but the CSS provided ago obviously just for an image has fallen in the body of a page without taking account of any other content that may already be there. "The html code that I put on the page is simply < img class ="bg"src ="... / pictures/background_image.jpg "> "

    Of course, I used the CSS code in the example, less the last piece which is "@media screen" etc., which seems irrelevant to me. Of course by replacing the values according to the picture on my page.

    So what happened was that it worked almost as expected in both browsers (which means the image filled both browsers first as it should and also remained fixed when I zoomed in, inside or outside, in each case), except that the picture went on top of the current content that I already there precisely because there isn't a background in this 'technical '. (A note on the side of curious, is that the image didn't turn down content, I expected under normal circumstances, but he went right on top of it so she she hidden (like the z-index).)

    One thing that bothers me in this regard 'technical' is that if you click on view the demo just below the code provided, you will see on the example of work page (bottom of the forest), the image clearly works as a backdrop and the content is fortunately located on top! So I don't know if the person who provides the example was trying to deceive people or what! Or he got lazy and showed another page which did not use the exact code, he has provided. No matter.

    In any case this leaves me with only half-completed work, because I still need a background image that functions as the 'normal image' code provided.

    In 2 cases and on this page, the first example provided gives the CSS for clutter - namely the code in the html {...} part and shows also the same "normal image" code as shown in box 1. In this case however, that the person provide a suggestion, the html and the css is not really properly more Moor some css and html seems a little redundant. So this time, when I used the part "html" in the CSS code (i.e. just the bit that was no longer relevant), I had two different behaviors in each browser and neither of which was quite what I'm looking for. In IE8, initially the page seems well (background fills the page and the content is on top) but when I Zoom in or out the background also zooms in or out accordingly so is NOT fixed. In Firefox, the background image stays fixed, but because the image is initially not the height of the browser I guess the code it extends down (keeping the proportions - so the image enlarges essentially) to fill it. The fast way to get around it is probably add white space at the bottom of the image just to give it sufficient height is not extensible / resize automatically. But it would be nice to know at least how to work around this problem in the code. Overall, I would say that the result in Firefox is closest to the desired solution, but of course it is not arranged things with IE8.

    Apologies for the long description, but which should at least provide much info for anyone who might have a possible solution for me. Essentially what would be great is if someone could advise me how to take the code of case 1 and apply it to a piece of 'background' coding as the type that is contained in html {...} in Case 2 . Like I said, it is almost there, but I just can't operate atm after trying to combine different bits of code this way and that... Also, if anyone has another version of html-css that works well to achieve then please by all means of let me know! V thanks a lot in advance!

    It works in modern browsers of the CSS3 support.  But not pre - IE9.

  • Does Firefox support HTML5 and CSS3?

    All the HTML5 and CSS3 specifications are implemented by FIrefox? If this is not the case, what is the level of support for this specification is implemented? Also if no, is supported in near future?

    See also http://html5test.com/

  • I think that it is reasonable to expect that the help pages will include a good description of the importance of the support of Firefox CSS3.

    I am interested in the use of CSS3, particularly the ability to load fonts if necessary off the internet. So, I would know the importance of the support of Firefox for CSS3. I couldn't find all the pages in the help directly responding to that system. There are a number of bug reports back in time (so clearly pressed some) but the definition of the facilities was not there. It is very necessary because browsers commonly only implements a small subset of the facilities defined by the W3C, so it can lose a lot of time to start with the specifications of the W3C.

  • Firefox 9 support for css3 media queries

    9 Firefox behaves differently in previous versions with regard to css3 media queries. Is it possible to behave properly?

    I use the different style settings based on the width. FF9 ignores changes in width and does is display the maximum width of css. Older versions would use different parameters based on the width of the browser currently has been.

    @media only screen and (max-width: 320px) {
    	...my styles here
    }
    @media only screen and (min-width: 321px) and (max-width: 480px) {
    	...my styles here
    }
    @media only screen and (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 700px) {
    	...my styles here
    }
    @media only screen and (min-width: 701px) and (max-width: 960px) {
    	...my styles here
    }
    @media only screen and (min-width: 961px) {
    	...my styles here
    }

    I finally had to use just to make the media queries work properly in FF9:

  • @font-face-range unicode is supported in the latest version?

    CSS3 definesa descriptor for unicode - range in the rule @font-face. Is this supported in Firefox 8, or is it planned?

    Yes, it doesn't seem to work right now, then you will have to wait until the bug is fixed.

    underside of blackberry 6, there are no supports Ajax-based animated page transitions...

    Of course not. BB5 is 5 years old, dating back to 2008. The specification CSS3 transition page was not even begun until 2009, is still in draft and has only become adopted over the past two years.

  • PlayBook CSS3 animations

    Hi guys,.

    After watching the WebWorks Podcasts lately, I remember something like "full HTML5 support.

    I am now building a project with some fancy CSS3 effects, but they don't seem to work for me (in the emulator).

    They do not occur only, but the emulator seems to hang for 0.5 s or more, whenever I start a new animation (- webkit - transform).

    Is it

    • something being developed or
    • should I use a more mature technique (JS) instead or
    • is this problem related to the emulator / 3D acceleration

    Thanks for your quick response!

    This really seems to be a problem with the emulator... I just got to work using two instead of a processor cores.

    Strange, but worked

  • images of border in CSS3, does the current DW have this

    As you know, I am very new to the new DW. When I was part of the tutorials, I don't remember the images of border there.

    I refer to this tutorial page: CSS3 Border Images . DW does in the DOM? I ask this question correctly?

    DW has no support in the user interface for this, but there is a suspicion of border-image under the «...» "More" option in CSS designer, where you can add to your rule. Support for this properly is not quite ready for prime time - see this:

  • I swim through the help files to find out how to add the html5 and css3, following master dw cs4

    The update to adobe in my master suite cs4 is not up-to-date. for months, I thought that there is no update, but I see now it is / was an extension for html5 and css3 for dw cs4. Ive been to several places and followed the links that others were sure would fix the other guys out but in vain. How can I get this extension?

    I believe that the extension has been removed when CS6 is released in 2012.

    You can use the HTML5 tags in Code view, but CS3 and 4 have no support for HTML5 code hinting or semi-automatic.

    You can switch to Editor open source code Adobe, media, which has full HTML5 code indicators and semi-automatic support.  I often keep DW and open media by-side.

    Media - a code editor open modern source, which includes the design of web sites.

  • Is there an update or the plugin that allows Dreamweaver 8 to create website in HTML5 and CSS3?

    DW8 as I, only creates templates, etc, in HTML4. Is there an update or a plugin that allows to create in HTML5 and CSS3?

    DW8 is powerful long in the tooth. Although there may be an update out there (3 rd-party, not Adobe) that allow you to start a new page with a doctype HTML5, I'm sure there is not an update that would also add support for HTML5 tags. The whole approach of DW has changed pretty significantly since DW8 - your best bet would be to get a subscription to the CC and start using CS6 (this and future versions of DW will require you to be somewhat familiar with the HTML and CSS).

    Welcome to the forum: Please read the FAQ and the forum threads sticky (if you have not already done so) and make sure that you have updated your profile with a real handle instead of '941005 '.

    You will get a faster, more effective response to your questions including information as much information as possible from the outset. This should include:

  • Version of the APEX
  • Edition and version of DB
  • (EPG, SST or APEX listener) Web server architecture
  • Browser (s) used
  • Theme
  • Templates
  • Type of zone

    In the APEX of all aspects of an application (including font size) are controlled using a combination of (X) HTML and CSS by themes and templates. You need to have an understanding of these web technologies to make the best use of the APEX. If you are not familiar with them, you are advised to get at least a basic knowledge by spending some time in the tutorials here: start with HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript and the HTML DOM.

    Features CSS3 can certainly be used in your applications and themes of the APEX. All problems are not likely to land here, but to know if these features are supported by the browsers/versions used during execution of their. These sites can be useful to determine it is worth it for you to use CSS3 to implement a particular feature:

    Using progressive enhancement techniques will allow you to introduce CSS3 features for browsers that support them all by always accessible to those who are not applications.

    Yes.  If you want to support different layouts in different devices, this is the procedure.
