CTRL + F search tool broken?

The Find bar (ctrl + f) seems to be broken. I'll get something which lies directly on the page that I can see on the page, but he claims, there is no result found. I tried already many works patches people claim (check if case-sensitive is selected [is not], disabling extensions), nothing seems to fix.

If it helps, I took a video of the problem in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2baqhoBtUs

So... is Firefox broken, or I did something wrong?

Hi marioaddict, we will try to solve the problem: guests have to reproduce this behavior when you start firefox in safe mode, once? If not, perhaps an addon intrudes here...

    Hello

I have a small question, and I suppose that I did not find the right keywords, since I couldn't get my answer by Googling it

Let's given that I have an enum typedefed, called ENUM_myenum, which has three values:

    -Value_One

    -Value_Two

    -Value_Three

Can I use the search tool (Ctrl + F) to find all instances of ENUM_myenum. Good.

But how do I find all instances ENUM_myenum of Value_Two value

    Is it still possible?

It becomes troublesome when the support code from someone else

    Thanks in advance

You can do a Ctrl + F search search, but change the type of text search and put Value_Two as the object of research.  Note that you can choose to ignore the situation (capitalization) and a few other options or not.  He will find not only the Enum value, of course, but also where you documented (you do document your screws, not you?) Value_Two...

My XP search tool (the one with the little dog) goes on and during the search, and if I found what I need I stop searching and getting back to work.  I could do in W2K, but in XP - SP3 when I stop the search, Windows Explorer crashes.  So, I have to restart my XP.  Y at - it a fix for this, or do I have to use another search tool?

I have this problem on my own XP machines and have seen several times on client computers. I think it's one that Microsoft will have to work, because I can not find a solution.  It seems to be the installation of third party software that does this, because a stock installation of XP with all updates to this day doesn't seem to have this problem.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RESTART WINDOWS TO RECOVER FROM THIS.

If Explorer crashes and your icons and the taskbar disappear, the solution is simply to wait for Explorer itself to begin again, or issue a ctrl-alt-delete, start Task Manager, click on file-> new task (run)-> and then enter "Explorer" (without the quotes) and click 'OK '. The icons and the taskbar will be back and XP will then operate normally.

If some of the icons in the system tray are missing after Explorer restarts, you can quickly sign out and then sign back in to fix this problem, after you saved all work and close programs. The programs represented by missing icons are, in this case, which is still running, so it's only a cosmetic problem.

Until Microsoft or someone else found a real solution, you may need to reinstall XP to resolve this problem. Not knowing the real cause, this problem could happen again. Not all facilities have this problem, or is it all the time.

  • Web/country drop-down absent from Google-search tools

After update to 35.01 and now 36.0, the Google search results page now behaves differently between Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The problem is that the 'search tools' used on ALWAYS display the web/countries of choice (drop-down) filter, but now shows only 2 options, in other words any when and the results all filter. Chrome still constantly, shows the four options (web/country, any time, all-results, local-map).

After reading several articles on this subject and likely checking options everything: config, I found that the ONLY way I could get this return to the 'normal' was to replace the "browser.newtab.url" parameter as follows:
    Browser.newtab.URL; https://www.Google.com.au

NOTE: I have NO problem or blockage to change my home page (it is set to www.google.com.au) and do NOT have malware, or the snap Trovi/SearchProtect/Conduit.

It can still occasionally be missed options, but it is now 90%. It would be good to get a permanent and adequate solution for this. If someone has a better method of rbust more, please let me know. TD

Hi jscher2000, which search engine plugin on the site MYCROFT was very useful thank you. I used Google to THE ones that I was not interested and the Google UK has added to the search list by default, unchecked too (that we are originally from the UK) and sometimes need for research based in the United Kingdom).

This now seems to be more like the original search feature, so thanks a lot for that, and I learned a few more things about cookies too!

I tried to delete all cookies on previous attempts to solve this, but nothing seemed to work until I changed the config and used your suggested change search plugin. It is ordered that the search provider list can be moved upwards and downwards for sorting how you want, in my case all the Google those upstairs.

  • I just updated to Firefox 23.0 for Macs and installed updates for Flash and Silverlight; Now Google 'search tools' & find image will not work correctly. Suggestions?

When I click on 'search tools', options are no longer displayed (for example, the tool that allows a search of limited date or search for videos of different lengths). I happened to have a search page open before the update and drop-down menus to search tools always appear on this page, but if I click on it, the menu drops down, so I can't change the options. When I do an image search, the results page shows only 20 or if the images and the rest of the results appear only as gray rectangles with/without any image. Search tools work normally in other browsers, I installed it, but Firefox is my default browser (and I'm happy with that), so I want to fix the problem. I don't know if it is associated with the updates, I did yesterday, but it's the only thing I can think of that's changed. Before that, the search tools have been working properly.

    Raphael,

In addition to what Mike says it's a known issue that Illy (Adobe Illustrator work description) can be disturbed (perhaps even sometimes took assault) by a whole bunch of usual suspects, so she is confused. The known list of suspects usual forms pos.7) less than 5 years) in the list below, which is once again a list of General corruptions/chess/strangenesses that can cause trouble.

Some of the unwanted interactions can be difficult to heal, I'm afraid. In the recent past, there have been a few very coherent/repeated inconsistencies between Illy and later Mac OSs (which you were lucky enough to avoid), where each new version of the OS (re) would be annoying problems (usually immediately after they have been resolved in the other).

    Edit: Hi Mike.

Here is the entire presentation (which may be relevant (also) at other times, if you are unlucky enough):

If the things that must operate simply refuse of (other possibilities exhausted (and carefully making sure you perform the necessary things (all))), try the list below.

Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases. It starts with a few easy suggestions and safe) 1 and 2) for cases less serious and goes two ways 3) and 4) to reset the default preferences (easily but irreversibly and more laboriously but more completely and also reversible), then follows a list 5) various other possibilities, and it ends with a complete reinstallation 6). If no other suggestion doesn't work, or if no other suggestion appears, you can start on the list and decide how to go or who can apply.

The following is a general list of things, try when

    (A) the question is not in a specific file,

    (B) you have a printer installed, connected and turned on if it's a physical printer (you can use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as a printer by default without the need to have a printer on, of course you will need to specify when you really need print on paper), and

    (C) It is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media (see below).

You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically may be corrupted/inconvenient preferences); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

More serious still (it can be serious because you may need to restore the plugins and whatnot if you've customized things), you can:

6 (A) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences, if any), B) run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) and C) reinstall. You can try without step B), but sometimes it is necessary, because otherwise things can persist.

  • Adobe Bridge search tool just stopped working

I've recently updated to CS6 and everything was fine for a few weeks then all of a sudden the search in bridge tool just hard has stopped working. I have always used to search for keywords and it worked almost perfectly until today. I have thousands of photos on multiple hard drives and ive even tried their indexing without result. nothing works. I've used the search bar at the top right as well as the window search and still nada. I purged the cache, I rebuilt the cache and done everything I could think again about nothing doesn't. Ive google and google and google and found absolutely no help in resolving this issue. I have reset the bridge during the startup also to nothing does not. I even indexed specific files in specific folders, and did research directly to these files and still nothing. I don't know what else to try at this point. can anyone offer suggestions before that I have quit and all re - install the product (which I REALLY don't want to do)?

im running CS6 on Windows 7 64-bit... and once again, it has worked until today. I have not modified parameters or changed everything I can think of that would have thrown off kilter bridge.

Weird. Have you tried to reset the bridge (Ctrl/Cmd-click the icon)?

Maybe the cache is damaged or unwriteable?

I suppose that the index is created in the folder "data" cache, and it is the root of your problem.  As an experiment, you could create a new folder in a location accessible by well known writing on a hard drive internal and change the location of the cache in Bridge preferences (make a note of the current location first). When you restart Bridge, it uses the new location and automatically create a new cache index and overview.

Then, try a search in a folder, to a known used keyword, making sure that you have enabled in the search indexing options. Let us know how you go.
