  I recently installed a new copy of Windows XP SP2 on my Tecra A2 (pta20e).
  I installed all the drivers drivers Toshiba page and everything works fine except my FN + F8 combo wireless.
  The FN keys work with other FN keys and wireless network is it.

  I can't turn it on. I welcomed the key FN in the BIOS settings I was hoping would fix, but it didn't. I also read other discussions on this problem without success so I m stuck.

  I think there must be a problem with your installation if FN + F8 key combination doesn't work...
  What drivers/tools that you have installed in what order?

  Normally, you need to install common Modules of Toshiba and controls tool. You can find it on the official website of Toshiba:
  http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/

  By the way: common Modules must be installed in the first place. If you have already installed, try reinstalling it.

  Nevermind, it seems that now you just have to do a little slower front so that it works.

  So still works, just hold one at a time from below upwards, a second about each, and then some more time to eject.

  BTW, I did reset and enabled records the ease of access, but always without success. CTRL + Alt + Del, SHIFT + arrow still works. Thanks again.

  Thanks for posting your question.

  It could a few steps that might help you in this.

  Make sure that, Ctrl key works on the keyboard. Also try to use the right on the keyboard Ctrl key to select.
  If you are using a USB keyboard, try connecting to a different port.

  Also: Try these registry fixes

  1. Log in using an administrator account.
  2. Click Star
     
      

     type regedit in the Search box, and then click regedit in the programs list.

     

     If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click continue .

  3. Locate the following registry subkey and click on it:

  HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\

  And in the right side, remove the two bags & BagMRU keys values

  Restart the computer. Then try to check if this help!

  I have the satellite p100-221 with pre-installed Win XP MCE. After a week of using my computer, a problem with the function keys blue appeared. FN - f1, fn - f2 and all the other fn keys combinations do not work properly. They seem to work, I can change the brightness, switch the touchpad on and out and so on, but no icon on the Info screen appears. While pressing the combination of function keys, the icons on the screen shows the time. How can I solve this problem? Is it software or hardware related?

  Your device is Satellite P100-221, then I guess the extra number must be PSPA6E.
  Do not forget that you are using the correct drivers for this device.

  I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and I downloaded & installed the value added package for Windows 7 64-bit.
  But my Fn key still does not work.

  So I uninstalled all drivers Toshiba again and reinstalled them.
  Nothing seems to work.

  What can I do?

  Of my knowledge Support Flash Card utility is not related to a specific model laptop.
  On my Satellite a series of laptop I installed Support utility of the Flash card that I found in the section L500 and it worked.

  Try this too maybe you control also the series which is more recent than L500.

  Check in Control Panel to see if you have a NVidia Control Panel or ATI Control Center icon. You have will depend on which video card to install on your PC. Click the NVidia or ATI and open Center Control Panel. Look carefully at the options and you should see an option for "rotate screen". Click on it and press the appropriate option to rotate the screen in an upright position.

  I have install Windows by myself - this laptop don't have any operating system from the factory.
  Installed Windows 7 x 64, all drivers and utilities site driver Toshiba for windows 7 x 64 available for my laptop model.

  I have no any unknown device in the Windows Device Manager, all the installed drivers and all hardware components woks fine i.e. camera wifi or bluetooth or web.
  But I still can't use some combinations of keyboard with the key Fn. not all, only five combinations do not work: modes of energy Fn + F2 Fn + F4 hibernation, Fn + 1, 2 zoom and devices wirelles Fn + F8.
  Search, I found only mentions on Fn + 1, zoom 2 - this funtion providing some util named Toshiba Zoom but no any Toshiba download page don't Zoom for my model of laptop and W7.

  Looks like it must have installed some additional tools provider for the manipulation of this combination, but I can't find any soft or extra info on the driver download page.
  Maybe there are a few utils which must be placed in lists of drivers/software for 32-bit windows and it will be very good for 64 bits one?

  All the combinations that works great as volume + Fn + Fn + 4 3 or mute Fn + ESC does not show any popus time of pressing, just functions without any indication.

  Dear users and support, can you help me what should I install utils extra to support the Fn + F2 modes of energy combinations, Fn + F4 Fn + 1, 2 zoom hibernate and Fn + F8 wirelles devices?

  Akuma is right. For the feature keys FN, you install Toshiba Value added Package. This package contains several different applications.

  Instead of using the physical keyboard to type and enter data, you can use the on-screen keyboard. On-screen keyboard displays a Visual keyboard with all the standard keys. You can select keys using the mouse or another pointing device, or you can use a unique key or a group of keys to scroll through the keys on the screen.

  2. were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?

  3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

  Method 1:

  Press shift + insert and see if you are able to stick.

  Method 2: Check if the problem persists in the on-screen keyboard and see if it helps.

  Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard) (Windows 7)

  I installed debian on a qosmio g30-223, it works correctly except the key of a keyboard in console/konsole/xterm.
  Under KDE, all the keys work but when I'm under a console (without xorg), konsole or an xterm, the '2' key (shift + a) does not work.

  It is a french keyboard layout and a card keyboard fr-latin9. Before connecting, the key also works.

  I have gentoo with 2.6.17 kernel and windowmaker as office. I know this problem. Maybe it s an idea to check the file xorg.conf to map keyboard under X then to change the keymap under console as X replaces the console overview.
  If the worst comes to the worst, try "dpkg - reconfigure console - data ' to choose a new layout for your page layout.
  I think that there are more keymaps under the hull for french available key-layouts, just to play with it. :)
