Custom calculation script - default value

Hi, I would like that the field 'A' a calculation whenever the field "B" changes its value after this 'A' becomes editable for the user. If "B" changes its value at any time, then 'A' clears any value, calculated and becomes editable for the user. As a default value.

You must use the custom b validation script to do the math. That change in a way a field will update when the value of B, but you will still be able to manually change A. To access the value of B, in this case use event.value, for example:

this.getField("A").value = event.value * 2;

    Our field staff use many Excel files for project documentation.  Our organization moves for iPad instead of laptops and we found that a PDF file to be filled on-line is a great resource for our staff.  I have created several of these forms that contain multiple lines and I just starting to learn how to write custom calculation scripts.  I have a more complex than most calculation and I don't know if this can be written in script.

    I6 is OverdepthRow1

    G6 is WithDowelsRow1

    I think I understand how to get started

    var v1 = get.thisField("OverdepthRow1").value;

    var v2 = get.thisField("WithDowelsRow1").value;

    if(v1<0.7) {}

    var result = v2 * 0.8

    Event.Value = result}

    ElseIf (v1 > = 0, 7 - now I don't know what to do!)

    I hope that I used the correct brackets and braces in the right places.

    I appreciate your help and your advice.

    I'm sorry, I made a mistake with the first two lines. I have corrected a problem but introduced another. They must be:

    var v1 = + getField("OverdepthRow1").value;

    var v2 = + getField("WithDowelsRow1").value;

  • Character limit to the custom calculation Script?

    Hello. I have a document that has a text form field. I want to run a custom calculation script which basically says if field 'Number group' = xxxxxxx, so the 'Group name' field should = ABC company.

    I have a list of almost 575 group numbers and names that I need to put in the script. And I have the script works fine, but I'm guessing that there is a limit of characters for the field script? It doesn't let me put my complete list in there.

    Any suggestions on how to work around this problem?

    Thank you

    Brandy

    Yes, there is a character limit for internal JS Editor. The round it is to use an external, such as Notepad.

    Do go to Edit - Preferences - JavaScript and select "Use the external JavaScript editor" and then select the application you want to use.

    Don't forget, however, that you must close the external file each time that change you it if you want to update in the PDF file.

  • How to add the field values custom calculation script

    Hello

    I have a calculation script:

    var bits = this.getField("DEXM").value;

    jib var = this.getField("acrofocus").value;

    var Misc = this.getField("acromisc").value;

    LVL var = this.getField("LVL").value;

    chk var = this.getField ("Check Box1.0") .isBoxChecked (0);

    {if(CHK==1)}

    Event.Value = (5 + jib + misc abi + (Math.floor (lvl/2))) ;}

    on the other

    {event.value = (jib + various + bits + (Math.floor (lvl/2))) ;}}

    I try to get the sum of the fields based on the value of a checkbox control. The if statement seems to work because the result does not change, but instead of adding up the results, it adds the numbers. Example: chk == 1, so add 5 + 0 + 0 + 2 + 1 and 8 display. But instead, it displays for event.value 521. All fields which events are digital with 0 decimal. What happens here? I expect that if they were formatted text fields, but they are not.

    Thank you all.

    You must explicitly convert the value of each field of a number. As an empty field values is a string type, the + operator gives you string concatenation instead of adding digital. You can review the first four lines of the script to:

    ABI = var + this.getField ("DEXM") .value;

    jib var = + this.getField ("acrofocus") .value;

    Misc = var + this.getField ("acromisc") .value;

    var = LVL + this.getField ("LVL") .value;

    and it should work properly.

  • Import the custom calculation Script

    I have a purchase order General Im is about to build. I have a lot of subtotal fields needing a custom on them calculation script.

    Is it possible to load a script (XML / import data) in all my fields desired with the appropriate script?

    Or is there little javascript that allows to calculate per line?

    Sample:

    https://DL.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2944617/sample.PDF

    CAL script:

    Event.Value = (this.getField("__PRICE-01__").value * this.getField("__QTY-01__").value);

    If (+ event.value = 0) event.value = "";

    You can use a script to set calculation script custom field, like this:

    this.getField("FieldName").setAction ("calculate", "code as string");

    2. where can I find it that the formulas will work in the calculation script custom as well as the format of these formulas work properly (tutorials would help)?

    I tried to write an 'if' function but I get and error so I guess that is functions do not work in the script, or there is a different format of spreadsheet standard formats.

    .

    In this case the loop would be:

    for (var i = 0; i)< 8;="" i="" +="1)">

    sum += + getField("Total."_+_i).value;

    }

    So initially, the counter i is zero, so the domain name used with the getField method is:

    'Total': + 0, which results in the string "Total.0". At each iteration, the variable i is incremented by 1, so the following field names are the following:

    "Total.1".

    "Total.2".

    'Total.3 '.

    'Total.4 '.

    'Total.5 '.

    'Total.6 '.

    "World.7.

    The script gets the value of each field, it converts numbers and adds the number to the cumulation.

    I can't get into script custom logic in a text form field in Acrobat XI.  When I paste my code and click on 'OK', the script is not reflected in the tab "calculate."  That the choice of "value is not calculated" is selected.  I get no error message.

  • Need help with custom calculation Script

    Hey everybody.  I'm using Acrobat X Pro and stumbling a bit on the syntax of the following equation.  I need to add the value of "Cell1" & "Cell2" then add the value of "Cell3.  However, the value of "Cell3" is entered by the user and specifies a percentage of the sum of "Cell1 &"Cell2".  For example: If the user enters "3" in "Cell3" I need the value returned at 3% of the sum of "Cell1" + "Cell2".  If the user enters "9" in "Cell3" I need the value returned for "Cell3" 9% of the sum of "Cell1 and Cell2" and the end result should be the sum of "Cell1 Cell2 + Cell3.  In more detail:

    If "Cell1" = "Cell2" $ 500 = $500 and "Cell3" = '3' then I need the returned value to be $1030,00.

    I hope this makes sense. Here's what I have so far, but alas, it does not work.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Get the first value in the field, as a number

    var v1 = + getField("Cell1").value;

    Get the second field value, as a number

    var v2 = + getField("Cell2").value;

    Get the value of a field, a number transformation

    var v3 = + getField("Cell3"/100).value;

    Calculate and set the value of this field for the result

    Event.Value = v3 + (v1 + v2);

    Thank you

    I have posted a reply, but realized that it wasn't what you wanted. There is some confusion about what you want for Cell3. A hand, you say that the user enter a vaule in the area, but them you say you want its calculated value based on what the user has entered and two other field values. It seems to me Cell3 should be the domain that the user enters the percentage, and the calculated field (Cell4) script could be:

    Get the first value in the field, as a number

    var v1 = + getField("Cell1").value;

    Get the second field value, as a number

    var v2 = + getField("Cell2").value;// get treatment field value, as a number

    Get the percentage

    var v3 = + getField("Cell3").value;

    Calculate and set the value of this field for the result

    Event.Value = (1 + v3 / 100) * (v1 + v2);

    Here's what you would do in Acrobat 11, and I think that it is very similar to 10:

    First of all go in form editing mode: Tools > forms > change

    Then select: tasks > other tasks > set field calculation order

  • Custom calculation scripts

    I have three fields, allows you to call the A, B and C.

    I'd like to field C equal to the to field if field B is empty, however if the B field is not empty, I would field C to show as empty and the user to be able to enter their own information in the C field.

    I can get field C is equal to field A if B is empty, I get blank C if the B field is not empty, but I can't seem to do so, a user can enter information in the field C B is not empty.

    Can anyone help with a script?

    I have another question, what do I do if I want to apply this same logic repeatedly

    fields.  Example of field and field B remain the same, but instead of

    only the presence of a C field, I have areas C1, C2, etc. and want the same logic

    to apply to each of them?
