customization of columns in the files Panel

Hello

Is it possible to customize the columns in the files Panel, I want to delete some of them such as modified

Sincere greetings

Yes, you can change the columns that are displayed and the order in which they appear. However, you must do this for each site individually. It is not a global preference.

Access the Site > Manage Sites, select the site you want to change the settings of.

In the Site configuration dialog box, expand advanced settings, and then select file view columns

You can also change the oder in which the columns are presented by editing your site definition (Advanced settings > file view columns).

  • Gray folders in the files Panel

    Hey all,.

I'm fairly new to dreamweaver. Yesterday, I created a local site folder, which appears in yellow in the files Panel. I then set the Web site and the folder turned green.

Today, I don't know what happened. But all my folders in the files Panel (on all drives, including those that existed before) appear gray. I am still able to open the files properly, the names of the sites still appear in the files drop-down menu panel and the site manager. But I am aware that the records are supposed to appear in green. Any ideas?

    Thank you

Just to add to Ben's response, all of the icons in Dreamweaver have been converted to grayscale in line with other Adobe programs. The theory behind this initiative is that neutral icons don't distract the design that you are working on.

Not everyone agrees that it is a good idea with a software like Dreamweaver, which has a very large number of icons. If you want Adobe to reconsider, or at least give users the option to choose if you want to activate the color icons, submit a request via the form at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

If a sufficient number request colorful icons to restore, Adobe can meet the demand of the user.

  • File missing from the files Panel icons

Hi, I have a brand new (demo) installation of Dreamweaver CS6 on a Mac and in the files Panel icons for the files aren't there. The icons of the folders are there but where there should be an icon for a file there are empty spaces. It's frustrating because it makes it harder to see the list of files and work with the files.

I tried to uninstall Dreamweaver, deleted the preference files and reinstall but who did nothing at all.

How can I get the file icons to show?

This is a known issue with OSX and must be attached with the 10.7.4 update.

  • Why external folder and files not showing in the files Panel?

I think that I rescued my first external stylesheet to my root folder.  First of all, I've defined a class and under the rule definition and I chose the New Style sheet.  When the "Save Style sheet file as box came I give it a name general external_styles.css and recorded in the working files, save."  Then I set the CSS rule for the class and chose options. Finally, I save the page as a .htm file in the job file and it see the does'nt upward in the files Panel.  I also tried to save the page as a .htm in the folder root and it will not always be displayed in the files pane.

I have trouble understanding the structures of files.  I'd appreciate any help to explain how to record the first style sheet external as it appears in the Control Panel files, otherwise I understand that I can not edit them or put them on the remote site.

    Hello

First, you need to consider a logical data structure, it might look like this:

I utilise.php, you could use *.html so too. Index.HTML is your file with which your site begins. The reference to your specific CSS files, must be given in your DW file, like this:

  • How to remove the disc from the files Panel

The folders pane shows a number of connected external drives.  Now, I have deleted all the files on a disc and want to remove this record from the files Panel.  This empty disc is not highlighted as are all the other drives connected.  Question: How do I remove this disk to store the files Panel?

When you delete the last folder empty under a drive, the drive itself should disappear from the folder Panel.

  • Can't seem to organize files in the files Panel.  (Mac).

Hi, I am teaching Dreamweaver on Mac.

I can't move and reorganize my files and folders in the files Panel.  When I try to move a file to another location on the files (not in a folder) Panel back to its original location.  My PC-based guide book says you can do it, but I can't on my Mac.  This is not possible or I just do something wrong stupidly.  I have a lot of files I want to arrange them in a specific order for clarity.

    Help!

That is what you want to accomplish with this movement?  The files still appear in alphabetical order within any given folder.  You can change the order of the Crescent to descending by name/type/save date/etc., but you cannot place files arbitrarily.

And if your book suggests something else then this is an error.  DW has never had the opportunity to do so.

  • See images from the files Panel

Is there not an option somewhere to let you preview the image files in the files Panel? I thought he was, but can't find it anywhere, maybe I was just dreaming?

Yes, in the files Panel, click the active tab. It shows you all your assets. Select a file and it will show you a thumbnail at the top.

  • Any way to export several columns in the links Panel?

This was posted on the InDesign forum, suggested that there could be a script that could achieve this?

Work on a manual with hundreds of illustrations. Each chapter has up to 100.  Need to get more than one column of data (file name and # it appears on the page) exported from the links Panel (in a sorted order) so they can be recessed into a spreadsheet. I use TextWrangler which will clear out all the names of files in a folder, but it sorts alphabetically and I really want them sort by Page numbers where they appear.

This script creates a CSV file on the desktop that you can import into Excel. The name of the file is the same as the name of the indesign document active.

  • organize files and folders in the files Panel

    Hello

I'm organizing my files Panel, I want all my folders on the top and then files, now my files are in among the files in alphabetical order, using CUPC 2014, in dw just cs6 always seem to have files on the top, then the files in alphabetical order, I have looking at but I must be missing something thx RJ

Click on the header of Type in the window files to organize alphabetically, by type.

Otherwise, you could add an underscore in front of your folder name, leaving the DW to update the links and they will stay up or down when you click the name header.

  • Folders in the files Panel will not be collapsed

There are 2 files in my files Panel that will not be collapsed.  When I open Dreamweaver, they are developed.  If I click on the arrow next to them a few times they will eventually collapse, but then as soon as I open any other file or folder they will develop themselves.  First of all, it started when I was with Dreamweaver CS5 with an issue that refused to collapse. A year later, I had updated for Dreamweaver CS6, and now the 2 folders that would not stay collapsed. This morning I've updated for Dreamweaver CC, and again the same 2 files will not collapsed!

I searched the forum and found people with the same number dating back to 2007, but have not yet find any solution.  A few people recommended to modify the Windows registry - but I'm on the Mac version.  Several people said they were lucky completely remove site settings and recreate - but that seems a little extreme, as well as several people have said that it has begun happening later with another folder!

Does anyone have a permanent solution?

-Just as an info.  If I rename the folder, it stops happening.  I can close and restart Dreamweaver and it remains collapsed. But as soon as I rename the file - even if I do it after the closing and reopening of the program - he begins to make once again!

Not sure if it's related to be - but I saw in another post this setting only associated files to automatically, instead of manual, solved the problem.  I tried, without success.  I even tried several times to turn off the associated files (by unchecking the checkbox activate the associated files in the preferences), but it keeps re-enabling itself!

Allow me to quote another user of DW

    "

First let me add here that I have found that when I upgraded to the new version of creative cloud of DW and it imported my 12.0 site settings, the problem has followed these settings in version 13.0.

IM on a Mac so these instructions should be taylored to the PC with regard to the location of the referenced file. And I don't know if it's still the same file on the PC. So I can only speak from my experience on Mac.

I fixed my version 12.0 and my version 13.0 of this way.

It was a 'Site Prefs"file damaged. I tried to fix it, but the entries where both involved that it was impossible that would work. So I deleted the file "Site" and leave the DW to recreate.

In order to recreate the Site preferences file, it meant losing all my site settings.

    To make things less painful...

    1. Open DW and go in managing the Sites. Select all sites and do an export of all temporary files .ste, passwords and user names, in a folder and close DW.
    2. Now find the folder called "12.0" or 13.0 "in the/Sites / / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/12.0 (13.0 for the version of cloud) and rename it to"12.0_old"or something else. (Note: you may need to Option + clicking on the Menu go to the Finder in order to get the choice of the library to appear).
    3. She and reopen DW will recreate a new empty "Site Prefs" file. Go to "Manage Sites... ' and click on 'Import Site '. Select all the .ste files and import them.
    4. DW will update cache of the site the first time you open each site, and it might also ask you to give permission to access the password stored in the keychain you. Always choose "allow" for all of them.
    5. That's all. Now my corrupted folder open whenever I click another folder.

    Mac OS 10.7.5

    DW CS6 (12.0 build 5861) & and/or DW CC (13.0 build 6391)

As I said, it worked very well for me. But use these steps at your own discretion.

  • How to restore files in the files Panel

I'm new to LR and I use LR3. I seem to be digging a huge hole for me try to figure out the catalog.

When I arrived to LR, I had added at the beginning only a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At the moment, I was still finishing untangle my collection full photo in "my pictures" that have been copied also two external hard drives. Once this work is completed, I imported a complete (some 4000 images) in LR. Folders/subfolders appeared in the folders Panel, but subfolders that I had originally imported displayed with one? and a message "the file is missing or offline" down the road of the "file missing find" eventually led to my problems.

About 6 subfolders are involved then I finally made the decision that it might be easier to remove them so then I could re - import from "my pictures". That did not work as expected.

When I go to 'file' import photos to "my pictures" missing subfolders are there, but the images are "grayed out" as well as the import button. When I put the cursor on one of the images gray "seems to be a duplicate of another picture already in the catalog" appears.

Can anyone tell me how I can restore the "missing" subfolders in the folders Panel.

    Thank you

    Howard

If you really deleted them, then they shouldn't be appearing as duplicates.

If you have a mess and you've not done a real job within Lightroom, I would suggest from a new catalog and import fees.

I'm unable to anchor the files on my PC Panel.  It's home very well on my laptop, but I just upgraded DW on my PC and the files don't "anchorage Panel."  Any idease on how to do this?  Thank you!

  • DW shows not sizes correct file in the files Panel

    Hello

I use DW CC 2015.1 on Mac 10.10.5.

I notice a difference in file size.

In the finder if I discover a Quicktime move, it indicates the size of the file is 313.1 MB. DW, said that the same file 298,63 MB.

DW displays all file sizes smaller than what indicates the operating system.

I also took a glance on my second Mac that is running 10.11.3 and the same thing. State of Mac OS 313,1, DW on Mac (same versions DW) indicate less large files.

Anyone else notice this? Is this a bug in DW or a problem with the operating system?

I did not pay attention as much file size differences to be honest, because I do not transfer or work with files that large in DW sizes.  However, if you're not a Mac user for a long time, there was an update of how Mac computes sizes of files made back in Snow Leopard (10.7).  I suspect that DW used the other method of calculating file size and not the new method that apple used.  I worry too much on this subject.  The only place I would look at is your host if they have a limit to the size of the file.

Here's an article that explains the change: math new Snow Leopard | Macworld
