  Hi all

  When you try to merge multiple records, the result is the same if I selected just a recording.

  Here's the situation:

  Source file:

  • Excel file with several records, saved as a csv and txt

  The target file:

  • InDesign CS4 file with a single page.
  • framework of a text on the page,
  • a table with the header line and a line of body
  • every cell of body line contains a data field

  I went through all the necessary steps:

  • Choose the data source file (tried with csv and txt, the results are the same) and insert the fields in the table
  • chose "All records" to merge
  • to merge records: selected multiple records

  After choosing "Preview", I see only one record per page, and the new pages are created automatically for EACH record! This is not what I want.

  What I want is for as many records if poster in the table as possible and then to InDesign to create additional if necessary pages.

  What I am doing wrong, or isn't it possible?

  Several records, ID to duplicate everything on the page, so unless there is enough space for all of this, you will get several records.

  Think of it as a frame around all your items, group, then using the step and repeat, except merge data won't allow any element to extend beyond the edge of the drawing page.

  I'm currently developing menus for my upcoming wedding, where everyone has already chosen what they are experiencing.  I created a file .csv with four columns - name, Starter, main, Dessert.

  I print these at home, I want them to be half (105 x 297 mm) A4 format, with two menus per page.

  However, by the normal data merge, I end up with having the same menu twice on each page.  So two menus on the page are the same person.

  How do I set up so that I can have two different menus, the following entries in the file .csv, on the same page?

  Looks like you tried to put both menus on the page and perform a merge of several record.

  To merge multiple records using only one set of placeholders on your page. Put it in the upper-left position. ID it dupliquera timeas as much as can fit in using the spacing settings you specify. It is often useful to use an empty block with no feature to define the area to perform the adjustment of the easier sapcing. Group them with your text, image (s).

  I'm doing a fusion of data with multiple records per page are supposed to be six nametages of 4 x 3 inches per page. I created the master with page

  text merge field and did the merge. The first 6 come out well, but the following labels are spread out of the page, such as label, 7 and 8 are well under the 5 and 6 and go off the page. Page 2 of the document is to end up with label 24-25, but the 7-8 label must begin on page 2.

  I've got files of Jeff and ran the merger here. Observation of my resultsmatch exactly Daniel. Bringing together executives solves the problem (look back I see beginning Jeff screenshot was taken using a fusion of the page of the document).

  I asked earlier if the Group makes a difference, but has not gotten a response from Jeff. Now, we know that it takes. If this does not resolve the problem on its end, I would try certainly to trashing the prefs and controlled again.

  Hello everyone.

  I have a situation where I have to data merge multiple text files to a single file indesign real "base". Databases formats are the same, the point of difference is a code in the second field of the database that refers to a postal box (not a zip/postal code, a code of 'distribution center' that has possibilities of 56 or greater). I would prefer data merge a file and then somehow split the PDF via Acrobat, but the length of postal areas resulting is incompatible and something that cannot be done if the document "split" feature in acrobat.

  The database starts as one massive file but using a one line code, can be divided into postal areas in separate text files.

  My last question: is it possible data merge several files at the same time (for example one after the other) and to give them their names based on the names of the input text file?

  OLE Kvern had a script to merge the data to a file without the user interface. I changed the last line slightly so that it generates a PDF file based on [high quality]:

  I guess that the answer has to do with the variable "myDataFile" and rather than just being open a dialog box, it could be somehow by selecting a table of text files, but it is where I am out of my depth.

  Ideas or thoughts which may not involve trying to do both the many mergers, but can somehow revolve around a great fusion of PDF?

  I have since made other mods to the script is easier to understand:

  If this script will automatically merge a file which is open as LONG as the data file is the same name as the indesign file with .txt at the end for example

  Woodward.indd (indesign file)

  Woodward.indd.txt (used for merging text file)

  This script does still not the original memory and who was using an indesign document, to browse for many text files and merging of PDF based on text files.

  HOWEVER, I am sure that the answer to that is based only on the use of the script above (no need to Peter batch convert script) and changing the line 9 to be a loop for... but again, this is where I come to a grinding halt. Any help would be appreciated.

  I am trying to merge multiple images in a single document and arrange them on this document and save it.  Is it still possible?  There are five black and white drawings that I've resized at all have the same size.  Tutorials that I looked at, but it seems that everyone has another way to do this and all are very confusing.  Thanks for your help.

  It is not surprising that "everyone has a different way to do this." In Photoshop that is common. Try this:

  1. open a new file large enough to accommodate five drawings.

  2. open each design, click on it in the layers panel and drag and drop it in the layers panel to the new file.

  3. Repeat until all are in the new file

  4. use the move tool to reposition. (They are on separate layers)

  5 flatten the file if you wish (but save a version not flattened for future editing)

  By that I mean I have file with layers of curve 2-12 - I wanted to "merge" the curves so that I can end up with a single curve with the attributes of a lot. Maybe there at - it a script that would do this?

  I don't want to not be critical, but how get you to a situation where you have 12 layers of curves?

  The advantage of a curves layer is that you can adjust and re - adjust to your heart's content.

  If you usually add new curved layers one over the other, maybe you should re - evaluate your work process.  Maybe bit depth the way you think you should operate at a high level and make the operations of curves on the pixels?  Or put some time in retraining yourself do not add a new layer of curves but to manipulate that is already there.  There are some nice new improvements (e.g., subtool 'finger' that allows you to choose a location for the image and manipulate this part of the curve).

  Once again, I don't mean to criticize you, just look to see if maybe there's a way to avoid getting to the point where you need to combine the curves in the first place, since there is no direct possibility of "Merge curves", apart from the stamping a whole layer image and adjustment in pixels.  To be complete, I guess I should mention how...  Any combination of visible layers into a single layer of pixels (effectively combining all the curves layer and al.), you can stamp by pressing Ctrl - Shift - Alt-E.

• Data merge: how to get multiple records in a single text?

  I'm experimenting with data merging in InDesign CS3. The biggest obstacle I've met tries to get my record flowing continuous text in a single text frame (which would, ideally, "automatic formatting" on the new pages in the document). Records vary considerably in length, and so I can't just create a standard repeat on the page text frame.

  Perhaps, data fusion is not the best way to achieve this and I should be learning to script in place. I feel like I'm just one step, however.

  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  Data fusion is not thread. There is a nifty script to Rorohiko who will do it for you after the merger, however. Best strategy is to merge, run the script, delete everything except the first image on the first page, then pick up the excess and auto-flux in the document.

• Question to merge data from multiple records

  Hi all, could really use some help here, I tried to fix this for hours now:

  Make 3 different models for labels that I print on the basis of models of labels Avery for InDesign. When I come to my fusion of data on any of them, I select "Multiple records" in the title records per Document Page, but the preview and the actual creation just spits out a single unique label on each new page. For example, I use 2 x 4 "labels on 2 of them, so it should print 10 per page, but instead to put 10 unique labels on a page, it puts each new label on a new page. Therefore, instead of 100 pages for the 1 000 labels that I print, I find myself with 1,000 pages.

  I know a double check of size constraints on the text box and make sure it suits you when duplicated, and to my knowledge, who is seeking as it's nice. I'm also fairly certain that CSV files that I use are in the right format, too. I am quite stuck at this stage as to what I have to do to solve this problem, no guidance would be great. Here are the screenshots of what I'm looking, please let me know if there is anything else I can give you to help diagnose the problem.

  

  

  

  

  

  I thinnk the best way to deal with this would be to ensure that all the Avery template information on the master page. Let him be active while you do the layout in the upper left position on THE DOCUMENT PAGE, and then assign the master let anything showing that your placholders and art added none.

  Reassign the master model after the merger.

• Merge multiple records on a page

  I have two questions to properly set up a mail merge:

  1. I have a .csv file that contains many records.  All of the columns contains a single line of text.  I have a column in the record that contains several paragraphs of text.

  Problem: The merger see paragraph returns (or line breaks) as indicator to go to the next record.  What is the workaround for this?

  2. I need the records to flow one after the other.

  Problem: It is merge one record per page.

  Background which may help (maybe fusion is not the feature I use):

  I'm a newspaper design that contains about 150 book reviews.  The comments come from a database I export to a csv file.  Rather than the conversion/formatting of criticism of the database by hand (as I did), I thought that indesign must have automated a way to handle this.

  You will find a clever script, I think that the Rorohiko website which is screwed all of the individual records in a simple story (I think it is called text stitich or something like that. The strategy is to run, and then delete all but the first image, resize the image to fill the page, then pick up the text in excess and auto-flux on the rest of the document. From there, you can select all and copy. Besides, if you want to just copy and paste somewhere else, you could probably skip the part on the removal and autoflowing and do a select all and copy.

• Print multiple images on a single page in Photoshop

  How do you get multiple photos on an a4 page print @.

  It depends on the size and orientation of the images. If you don't want to resize the images you have, your options are limited to paper. If you're ready to resize, then you can include as much as you want just by implementing a multi-layer document.

  Something that I sometimes use is a Board-Contact. It comes in a completely automated way of adding several images in a single document.

  (1) open your images in Photoshop.

  (2) in the file Menu Select Board-Contact

  

  The dialog box is displayed. I did it with 5 open images and that the effects of the number of rows and columns that you choose.

  but otherwise the settings below usually work. If you don't mind the orientation of the image being edited

  Then select "Rotate for best fit. If you want to change the contact sheet after then select Flatten all layers.

  Photoshop will calculate the best size for the images to fit the page in this case A4

  And that's what you get when it is checked. You can also see here the layers panel and so you can also move

  Once you have the collage of pictures on a single page, you can use the HP eprint app to print your page or if your android phone has the plugin installed (and active in the settings) HP Print, you can print it there.

  Shri salvation,

  ADF form is intended for the single insert/update. For multiple insert/update/delete using the collection as table UI is preferred. I guess your db table or table design INTERFACE default (in my opinion but I do not know your usecase entirely, so I guess might b wrong).

  I would say,

  -make EmpId as PK
  -have another table to store EmpId (foreign key), emailSiNo, email
  -Having the relationship of the master / detail between the British Colombia ADF db tables.
  -Create master / detail UI and on the selection of the master, view the details and if no record is found does not add files and commit.
