  • DBUA could not determine the database version. Upgrade from 10.2 to 11.2

I am trying to improve my database of version 10.2 to 11R2. I have already installed the software in a new Oracle home directory, and now I use the upgrade database wizard according to the instructions. In the section select your database, when I hit the next button after selecting my database I get the error "DBUA could not determine database version. Make sure that the version of the database is supported for upgrade". I have already confirmed that the upgrade from 10.2 to 11R2 database is supported. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you

Apply the 4547817 hotfix that upgrades your database to 10.2.0.2 and then you can directly go to 11.2.0.2

  • Why is upgraded from Oracle 8i to Oracle 9i?

    Hello
The company that I'm working evaluates if the transition from 8i to 9i to Oracle database. Apart from the fact that it is always useful and reasonable upgrade to the newer versions, it seems to me that the main features of version 9i are, with regard to the management data warehouse, where I work, we don't use. From the point of view of PL/SQL, are there particular differences between 8i and 9i? In other words, I must point out important reasons to justify the upgrade? Thank you!

Both versions are already out supported. Other than taking advantage of new features that provide new versions of the database software, it is necessary to follow the pace of updates to stay in support and continue to receive security patches/fixes. Each new version has a "What's new" guide that lists the new features over the previous version.

  • Database Oracle from Windows to Linux migration

    Hey guys,.

I'm database oracle 11g R2 in Windows 7 migration to Red hat 5 (64-bit) Linux using RMAN by transport.sql file. I installed Oracle 11 g R2 on the two system.

But the problem is that my data files are scattered in different locations (I mean that all are not in the same directory) and I did not have enough space to all copy in the same directory. Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to write several locations as value the NAME of FILE DB CONVERT parameter when creating transport using RMAN script, I know the command for a directory only.

RMAN > Convert the new database database linuxdb

    script of transport for "C:\test\transport.sql."

    db_file_name_convert 'C:\oracle\oradata\orcl\' "C:\test".

    the platform "Linux IA < 32 bit >";

This command allows to convert all the files in the database that resides in the orcl directory and place them in the test directory. But in my case, all the files are not in the directory orcl

and I can't copy other files in there because I don't have enough space on the entire system.

I can't create transport script several times because it is incorrect.

I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

You can specify as many pairs of directories as needed

    db_file_name_convert = ('/ u01/ora/files ' ' / u02/ora/files ' ' / u01/ora/file9 ' ' / u02/ora/file9 ')

I ended up working with Oracle Support, that had me do some things... I also did a thing on my own and with these changes, I am able to connect now.  If it does not please let me know... I tried a few other things that I don't think had no effect.

    (1) removed the Environment Variable "PS_SERVER_CFG" - I found in a document oracle that this could cause problems.  I have not set this manually, but Oracle says it is used to run data mover or SQR scripts outside of the process scheduler.  It must have been added as part of the installation so I'll add it again later.  This change did put a slight change to error messages, so it have some effect, but does not solve everything.

    (2) with the upgrade of 8.53 8.54 I had to add a 32-bit ODBC user DSN.  Even if change assistant 8.54 uses 64-bit, it seems that 8.53 connections are still serving who connects via ODBC 32-bit.

    (3) make sure that the paths configured in the wizard to change are not UNC, if they are matched with a drive and configure using readers.

    Good luck.

  • How to determine the level of Group of patches for the database Oracle EBS Server?

    Dear
How findout patches for the database server Oracle EBS group level i.e. 10.2.0.3?

    Concerning

    Dear Suzy,

I was looking for a patch of database being upgraded. After the database owner (enviroment) to supply file, I used the following command from $ORACLE_RDBMS_HOME/OPatch directory, command like $ OPatch lsinventory, he listed all the patches and updated patch also.

'OPatch lsinventory' must list all patches applied to $RDBMS_ORACLE_HOME. For the level of database of the Group of hotfixes, you can use one of the instructions above to get the version. In addition, you can check to the BONE by running executable files (i.e. sqlplus, impdb... etc).

And on request, I used-> -use $AD_TOP/sql/adutconf.sql , it is perfectly correct.

    Ok.

But I can't go through of OAM,-diagnostics of Applications using, you can guide me. When I select plan of the site-diagnosis & repair - run diagnostic tests, it error. Say year error has occurred!
Please note: you don't have sufficient privileges to perform this function.

OAM and Diagnostics Applications are two different things.

Diagnostics of applications can be run from "Oracle Diagnostic Tool".

  • Upgrade from 1.1.4 to 1.2 (VMWare) ISE

We intend to do an update on our runing EHT on VMWare. Our current version is the 1.1.4 and we expect upgrade to version 1.2. According to the published notes, 1.2 works on 64-bit and we currently use 32 bit on our ISE. I have red all the release notes and upgrade of Cisco and all guide does not include the process to upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. I created the project for the upgrade plan, here's what I think for the upgrade. Create a backup of ISE 1.1.4 install ISE 1.2 of new virtual machines and then restore the databases of 1.4 and then will upgrade the databases to version 1.2.

    Hello

You can run the stright upgrade Installer v1.2 takes care of the conversion from 32 to 64 bits.

Edit: You will need to change to RHEL 5 64-bit RHEL 5 32-bit host operating system.

What is a stand alone ISE or a depoymentof more then one?

If you have a deployment, you can start with your secondary node of PAN (admin). When finished high school announces that it is v1.2 and when you upgrade the next node, an NHP, it is conect Pan automatically in high school

There may be problems during the upgrade to ISE, but with my last customer goes to version 1.2, everything worked as it should.

But I have to prepare for the worst with DB Backup, backup of certifiactes + pvk, having access to administrators AD etc.

Tip is to copy the upgrade file to the local disk and run the upgrade from there and reset the DB on the PSN knots to shorten the time of the upgrade.
