DCOM - the interactive user settings / account system

Hello

I would like to first of all my DCOM configuration to allow a remote computer to access a remote application

I followed the instructions according to my manual programs

Component Services. My computer. DCOM configuration. (The object)

When I open the properties of the OBJECT, then I click on the identity tab, it will ask "which user account you want to use to run this application?

From there, I'm supposed to have 4 options: the interactive user, the user lanching () of this user, the account system (services only)

My current setting is the system account and I need to select the interactive user, according to the user manual.

However, the two main options: "the interactive user, the user lanching" are being blurred on.

How can I select "interactive user"?

Why is this it is be blurred on?

What does 'The account system (services only)' mean?

I'll still be able to use this application remotely?

Thank you

  • The worksheet name change for the interactive user role

    Hi all

I have a question about DRM security for users with access add to the sheet and only read access to the members. The requirement is that the user should be able to add a sheet and change all the properties associated with the leaves but cannot add or change the Member or any property associated with a branch. To do this, I created a group of node (NAG1) and assigned categories of goods (PC1) associated with the hierarchy of the NAG1 with editing access to PC1. The NAG1 for journal access ADD and NAG1 for branch had read access. The user has only one role which is the interactive user. This way, the user cannot add spreadsheets, edit the properties associated with the leaves, but don't can't add limb or change all the properties associated with limb, HOWEVER, the user is not able to change the name of an existing journal. If I give the user role 'Director of Application', while they are able to change the name of the system, but then they see the section Administration on the left and everything related which we want give...

Is it possible to give the user the ability to change the name of the worksheet without giving ""Application Administrator ' role? "

    Denzz Murali Pasumarti

    Thanks in advance

    Sumit

Have you checked RenameLeaf and RenameLimb system preferences?  I think that by default, only the administrator can change the name of the node, but you can grant this possibility of additional roles.

  • Is it possible to configure the same user for 500 systems that run under XP & Win7?

    Hello

About 500 systems are run under Windows XP & Windows7, is it possible to use the same user for all 500 systems?

    Hi SupportRI,

Windows Live family safety is no longer manages the accounts of children using Windows Live ID Windows Live ID on behalf of the child is essentially used for the feature of managing contacts (restrictions on the use of Hotmail and Messenger). Currently, parental control can manage Windows users; However, if you have already configured a Windows Live ID account before the update, it will be always available. You can see the thread below for more information.

Where is the function of the safety Contact family management?

If you intend to use Windows Live Family Safety for all users of 500 to restrict the Internet connection, please note that parental control does not restrict the Internet and Web sites. You also have the option in the list of content filtering Web to apply the rules to all users under the Family Safety.

For more information on how you can install Windows Live Family Safety, please visit the link below.

  • Cannot remove folder AppData in the closed user - administrator account is not enough - owner is "HomeUsers' - OS Win7 Home Premium

Because it is not possible in Home Premium Win7 for access to the control administrator privileges, I can't understand how to erase all files from the folder of the deleted user.  The user, Jake, had somehow "HomeUsers" as long as the owner of the folder for some reason any.  I checked in another location and Jake folder has been shared with the residential group which is listed as the owner?

Can I download a utility that will allow me to have the equivalent of control of folders and groups in professional Win7 and Optimum of operation systems.  All I want to do is remove AppData folder hidden from Jake and all of its subfolders.  I tried to change the owner of HomeUsers to the administrator which I already activated.  But the administrator does not sufficient privileges to delete the folder and subfolders, one at a time or all at once. Or from the bottom up (first of all the latest files and folders).

From what I see in Google ads there are a lot of hit us this security risk... The folder has been shared and accessible for a reason even if we used Page sharing to enable sharing and direct access to the records is used to disable sharing. That's why I pulled off the system Jake account.  We need assistance.  It's not a glitch in nice.  Something had access to our system and that access to create a more powerful than the administrator user.

Try to delete the file when logged in as an administrator in Mode safe account. If failure repeated, follow these steps:

    1. Use F8 during startup to start the machine in Repair Mode.
    2. Open a command prompt.
    3. Type this command:
      RD /s /q C:\Users\Jake

Deleting a folder of this profile is permanent. You will not be able to restore it from the Recycle Bin.

  • FDMEE - delete the default user settings

    Hi all

We have some users who have selected the default POV members in FDMEE.  What we discovered is that user settings are priority on the application settings and system and do ensure that the user is always stuck on the POV that they put the first day by default.  They can define a different value by default each month, but I don't see the point if we update the adjustment system each month worldwide for them.  Please correct me if my understanding is not correct.

I want to be able to clear the default values for the user and I ask not to put more.  Rather than upgrading security and giving all users access to the 'user settings' so that they can remove manually, I wonder if there is a way easier and more automated.  I can see with the following query parameters.  Could erase these files without any harm through SQL, or is there a better way?

    THX,

    Mike

    Query:

    SELECT PROFILE_OPTION_NAME, LEVEL_ID, LEVEL_VALUE, PROFILE_OPTION_VALUE

    FROM dbo. AIF_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES

    WHERE LEVEL_ID AS "1010"

    Results of the sample:

    PROFILE_POV_PARTITION 1010 testuser 26

    PROFILE_POV_PERIOD 1010 testuser 2014-07-31

    PROFILE_POV_CATEGORY 1010 testuser 1

You don't need to bother erased. In the Control Panel options: just the Global Mode of POV Yes Application user settings & POV POV if present will be ignored.

  • TestStand fails to use the application with custom user settings

    Hello

For a project of teststand, I use a .net application that uses a custom settings provider. The problem is that whenever he tries to use one of the teststand user settings, the application returns an exception:

"Unable to load the provider type.

I tried to illustrate the small demo project that I have attached.

The .net application I call of test bench is AppWithUserSetting, and is one of the steps in the q.seq file in sequence to get a value from a user setting. That's where it crashes for me.

On the other hand, if I instantiate the same objects and read the same setting from another application .net (DoLikeTestStandApp), everything is fine.

Note that in the AppWithUserSetting settings.designer.cs file, a custom line has been added ([total:ystem.]) Configuration.SettingsProvider (typeof (AppWithUserSettings.UserAppSettingsProvider))]) to force the program to use the custom SettingProvider. And that's where it fails when loading teststand.

No idea why? Right now, I'd rather not remove the use of this settingProvider custom because it will keep the settings of the user even when the upgrade to a different version of AppWithUserSettings.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Loïc

PS: I use studio VS 2008 SP1 and Teststand 4.1.1

  • Error message "unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator"when you set parental controls for a user account

Original title: user account with an effort of parental control

After logging in to my admin account, I created two user accounts for my children, set up parental controls for both that I created, when I tried to set up the third account that he would allow me to activate parental control. It seems that he is trying to load the screen to give me the parental control options then the window disappers and another small window appears saying "cannot make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator. I close the window, and then open the parental controls for other accounts, and they work very well, allows me the chance to change. I deleted the third account several times, making sure to create on behalf of others, just like I did the first two. Still no luck. Can I have only 3 total accounts? My administrator account and standard users 2.

How can I get a standard user account third with parental controls?

    Hello

Create a new user account and check if the problem persists, the problem does not persist in the new user account, then fix the damaged user account.

There is an available for installation of SP3 Cd

Manually installing SP3 using the Microsoft Download Center or a CD

If you have problems to receive the service pack from Windows Update, you can download SP3 as a standalone package from the Microsoft Download Center Web site, and then install SP3 manually. The installation package is intended for it professionals and developers, but you can always download and install this file.

    Original title: Temp user login

    Hi indhru,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You have security software installed on the computer?

Try the step after the connection to the temporary account below.

    1. Click on the Start menu.
    2. Type Regedit in the Run dialog box, and then press enter
    3. Access
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
    4. There is 1 line for each profile. Especially if a profile is bad there are 3 things worth visiting:
    • Make sure that the name of the key are not ends in ".bad".
    • Make sure the RefCount value is 0
    • Ensure that the status value is 0
  • Remove old settings of the computer user account

    From: ericf10

I've changed the original administrator user account.  However, there are always references to a command line, some files and the old username remote desktop.  I've already changed the registered owner in the registry in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner change.

What else should I do to get rid of this former user?

    From: Brink

    Hello Eric,

What you see is the reference in the 'C:\Users\user name' folder. While you can change the registered owner and the name of the user account, you cannot change the name of the folder 'C:\Users\user name'. The only way to do it is to create a new admin account and delete the one within another.

    Hope this helps,

    Shawn
