  Also, as you do this for the purpose of learning, I suggested to be in my experience at least 4 GB of RAM. (because Windows 7 takes about 1 GB of RAM & remaining 3 can be used by the virtual machine, so 4 GB is better for optimal performance).

  Recovery disks can only retrieve an operating system installed. If there is no OS on this system, you will need to purchase a copy of an online retailer that Microsoft no longer sells it.  You may want to consider earning 10 instead of win 7 because it will be supported more than 7

  It would show only the name of the working group that would have previously connected to you. The name appears in the properties of the computer does not mean that you are connected to a workgroup. You can even change the name of the working group just to confirm that the computer is removed from the working group.
