Delete the ROW (but not the LUN) mapping file

I am looking for a test of consistency here.

I want to delete a ROW of a data store map file but does not affect the LUN.  The original question was that the virtual machine has a physical RDM mapped mode that would fail to vmotion.  vCenter reported that the ROW was not available on the other hosts; We checked that the LUN has been.  I ended up remove the ROW of the vm, quick vMotioning of the virtual machine and add the row as a new disk (virtual mode this time), actually create a new mapping file.  Now, all the works of the feature and the machine can vmotion around the cluster.

It is now a week now, and all is well.  I would like to go back and remove the original (defective) rdm mapping file.  I've never done this, so I would like someone to check that there is no effect on the LUN it is / was mapped to.

Furthermore, it's all about vSphere 4.1.  Problem was discovered to plug the hypervisors to ESXi 4.1 800380.  The virtual machine with the issue has been glued on an ESXi 4.1 host 433742.  It was the latest patch.  Machine virtual don't vmotion to other hosts until they were patches, while she probably had nothing to do with patch levels.

Thank you

Craig

Hello

You cannot delete the ROW from the data store where the virtual machine is running, because it is attached to the virtual machine.

If you are talking about the old file RDM, which was under the old data store where previously the VM was lying and there is nothing to do with your existing VM that's running, you can remove the same. But if the same RDM file points to the current running VM, then you cannot delete the same.

  • How to restore pictures that have been deleted from Lightroom, but not removed from the 'drive '?

How to restore pictures that have been deleted from Lightroom, but not removed from the 'drive '? Also, how can I restore photos after saving Lightroom. I started to remove some files and it removed ALL of them! I chose the option "cancel delete files" and them brought back, she says they are all "missing or offline. I tried to 'find' a different folder and it deleted the folder all together and now I don't know where he is. Help, please!

How to restore pictures that have been deleted from Lightroom, but not removed from the 'drive '?

You need a backup of your Lightroom catalog file before deleting the photos made. You have such a backup? If so, find the backup catalog, open it (double click on it) and then search for the photos you want and select them and then file-> export catalogue; Then go to your original catalog file, open it and select file-> import from another catalog and points to the catalog that you just exported.

If you do not have a backup of your catalog file, then the only thing you can do is to import the photos again, and Lightroom will treat them as totally new photos with no editing and no metadata provided by the user.

Moreover, the idea of importing photos into Lightroom and then later removing them to Lightroom should is limited to photos you will EVER want such a photos that are so overexposed or underexposed or blurred that they are essentially useless. The photos that you care enough to run a task on (including editing) should never be removed from Lightroom.

Also, how can I restore photos after saving Lightroom.

Is this the same problem as above, or another?

I chose the option "cancel delete files" and them brought back, she says they are all "missing or offline.

Is it possible that you actually deleted pictures from the hard disk, as well as from Lightroom? Anyway, Lightroom cannot find the photos and you first need to find photos on your hard drives and then direct Lightroom to the location of the photo on your hard drive, using these instructions Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

  • Search engines not available, except in mode "Run as Administrator". delete the parent.lock file profiles did not help

After the upgrade to 21 FF, search engines no longer appear in the bar at the top right of the screen, so no searches are possible. I can navigate to my favorites and apparently also to the links contained in the e-mails.

If I right click on the FF icon and choose the "Run as Administrator" option, the search engines are there again. I tried to delete the parent.lock in the profiles folder, that this solution was solved a problem I've had recently with the previous version of FF (not being not able to open FF and getting the error message on another version of it running, which had to be closed in the first place - but there was no other version running.) In this case, too, before I discovered the solution, I could open FF using the option "Run as Administrator"). However deleting the parent.lock file does not resolve this issue.

    Two points:

    1. If you want to delete some installed programs, do not make
deletion of the folder they are in. That doesn't remove them only partially and
can cause problems. Remove programs by in control
    Configuration/program Panel and features.

    2. a drive of 74 GB is a tiny disk these days. There are a number of
things you can do to save space, but they are all basically
temporary and you will soon find yourself in the same situation.
The only real solution is to buy and install a larger capacity drive.

  • deleted recovery partition - but not additional disk space?

    Hi all

I recently bought a HP pavilion x 2. My first job has been upgraded to Windows 8.1, which she leaves me until I have 20 GB of available. It is at this time, I realized just how much the memory of 64GB has been taken over - including a 15 GB recovery partition - odd.

So, next work was to remove that. I have created a backup according to the instructions and deleted the partition by using the HP Recovery Wizard. However, the total memory usage is not passed down. I'm now 18GB total free on a drive rather than 16 GB on a partition and 2 GB on another partition (raw numbers). This suggests that recovering the files themselve have not been deleted. I think I found the recovery of files in the appdata/temp folder (4 x 4 GB file which seems to live up to those on the recovery disc).

So my question is: is it safe to delete these files? Is there an 'official' way to make using the hp recovery tool, that I would like to delete all files recovery which are now obsolete because I have an external backup, not only the large memory those?

In addition, can provide advice on which programs are "secondary market" and therefore safe for me to uninstall I should consider their Needless to release me until a short memory. I realize how fickle computers can be when you try to get rid of things pre-installed.

Can't find this on the forums, but apologies if this has been asked before.

    Any help appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Given that you have created a backup copy according to the instructions. It should be ok to remove the partition recovery (already deleted anyway) so very sure to remove all the files KNOWN.

    Kind regards.

  • Eager to install SRM - but not all LUNS replicated (yet)

I met/completed all installation conditions of SRM as demerger of our unique VirtualCenter/vCenter in 2, prepared a couple of RS servers for installation of SRM, downloaded the SRA for our storage provider, etc., etc.

The only thing that is not done / in place (and it's a GREAT thing) is replicated data warehouses.  They are PARTIALLY done we have 5 LUN that we will replicate initially, and only 1 of them is over.

I originally wanted EACH of them to full replication until I actually installed/configured SRM with my groups, recovery plans, etc., but our SAN/networking guy advised me that the 4 remaining Lun will take about a month before the recovering site has completely initial sync LUNS involved.  It is what it is - our bandwidth between sites is a MPLS cloud with nearby speed T3, but after how much time it took the first LUN to finish synchronizing, we estimated that 4 week period for the completion of the other LUNS.

Can so I started today with just 1 LUN in place/loan/sync would be?  If I do, then I can't just "add" other groups for protection and recovery plans that must be like the other LUNS full synchronization, correct?

Ideally, you do not want to wait that the LUN is replicated before configuring the SRM.  Through the SRA, the MRS server will examine your LUNS and check to see that there are some VMDK files.  If the virtual machine has storage on any other beside the replicated lun LUN, it will not be able to configure protection for this virtual machine.  You can manually the value of protection on the virtual machine and exclude all storage not replicated, but which will probably hurt your DR plan.

If the goal is to simply prove that MRS. works by testing the recovery of a limited set of VM, then you can start now.  If one really wants to implement a complete recovery of the site plan, then you must wait for all of the replication ends.

  • You can delete the Illustrator .eps files XMP data - CS5.5?

    Background:

I use the font software called Typetool 3 and Illustrator CS5.5.

I use these on Windows 7, 64 bit.
It is the entry level published by Fontlab font software.
This software accepts work through the .eps file format in theory and practice.

However: he refuses illustrator .eps CS5.5 files.

When I watched this I came with two very interesting things: first illustrator CS5.5 files are about 13 times the size of the CS5 files of this type (a simple font glyph-comparing a kbfile 29-30 to a file of 420-450 KB in cs5 and cs5.5 respectively).

Two thing came to watch what these data were (by opening it in a text editor). It seems that some of the data the XMP data, data of illustrators for tracking things like who created the file, right of copyright and other. In info document many of these fields were empty. I don't know that this is not the only question because my exported xmp data are 64 KB big, but it does account for a part of the file.

The main question is: can these data xmp. which in my case is useless, because I put the copyright and other data in the police, be removed or not included when creating documents?

The technical question is: can the file be saved in a way that will allow it to be exported from adobe CS5.5 and imported in Typetool 3?

    Things I've tried:

By saving the .eps file: remove documents headers, extracts, color backup data, as different versions of the language. Basically it save without any parameters.

In the save the .ai file: Save without all of the controlled parameters (without compression, pdf editting, ect.) and save it to a different level of illustrator.

I don't know enough about programming postscript to navigate in the file or delete the offending data. And I don't have time to do during several glyphs.

As a matter of opinion I don't like that my software is particularly identifying information potentially (which is one of the intentions of XMP data, to provide identification) without notifying the creator, and still less afford to stop from doing this. I have not the spirit or her penalty-except for the fact its messed a workflow based. If someone edited these data without my knowledge, say with a virus or heaven forbid manually, it would also be embarrassing. Have a check that identifies me to send these data would give me something to know if this situation happening in reality. In addition, for a situation such as mine-communication between programs in a closed environment, where no one else is involved, its useless and waste... like putting gold rims on what is supposed to be an ox-cart.

I plan to go to Fontlab to later this week, because it's as much their question as it's Adobe. I know THAT XMP is both a valuable and popular - technology have a work around for this situation seems this would be a good idea. If necessary I can attach files of work for comparison.

I save as EPS (Illustrator version 3). This should be compatible with almost any software that supports PSE.
