deletion of flash10c.ocx

I recently did a 'clean' install upgraded to Windows 7 and tried to delete the windows.old folder.  Unfortunately, this contains a file flashutil.exe and flash10c.ocx that I can't remove.  The uninstall tool does not work, it does not check if the windows.old folder.  I tried the uninstall tool, safe mode, move the file, rename the file, rename the folder and delete the parent folder, which all failed.  Is it possible to delete this file?  Why is - this file so incredibly difficult to remove?

It works for me.

Right-click on Flash10c.ocx and go to properties > Security > advanced

Then, select and delete any type of authorization that has refused listed

Narrow properties

Now remove Flash10c.ocx

How can I solve this problem? I tried everything I could think of. I deleted my cookies (and Add-ons), re-installed Adobe Flash Player and nothing works.

What browser are you using IE or Firefox or others?  Sometimes special versions of Flash are required for browsers, and besides, IE 64-bit does not support modules including Flash, she, that is to say, it takes the 32-bit version, even on a 64-bit machine.

Take a look at IE / tools / manage add-ons and make sure that 'Shockwave Flash Object' is enabled.

Check that you downloaded the correct version in the first place.

    Hi Preston,

First of all, you don't want to remove flash.ocx.  Given that Microsoft integrates Flash Player in Internet Explorer, flash.ocx is locked and you cannot delete it, unless you mess with permissions and doing so will make you unable to resinstall IE to get Flash Player, short of re-installing Windows (or reset to the factory settings, depending on the system you have).

If you have performed all troubleshooting steps and Flash content is still not properly display in IE, it could be that Microsoft does not identify the browser IE in the user agent string, which many Web sites use to determine which browser is in the use and display of the content based on the browser.  Microsoft is constantly changing the user agent string for IE and websites need to adjust how they identify the browser based on other characteristics, not the user agent string.  A test using IE, go to what is my User Agent? and post the results here.

  • Flash 10 install and use with PowerPoint issues

Hi feel really frustrated now and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a quick solution.

I am running Windows 7, Flash 10.0.32.18 (now the 10.1 beta in desperation) and I did have to reinstall flash on startup until last night, so it's been an unhappy towards the bottom of the turn of events for me and not even the reason for research forums.

My problem started as I stood in front of one of my classes (I work in a college) with PowerPoint 2007 and a lesson ready to go and the images Flash who had always worked refused to be anything other than a still image without interaction.

Unfortunately, when I upgraded to Windows 7, I did a clean install and reinstalled Office as well as the latest versions of Flash, Shockwave etc. I say unfortunately because I now have no way of knowing where the problems lie. On request, Microsoft is categorically stated that it is a matter of Adobe and the forum appears to support this thesis.

On the investigation, I found that when looking at a slide of the object has been identified as an object Flash, but I can't show all properties, also "insert a shockwave flash object' is not available in the control toolbox. This would indicate that Flash is not installed even if looking at a flash on the internet was not a problem.

The last number which may help a solution, is that when you try to view a .swf file, I learned that I need to have Flash Player installed (I have) and trying to use a third party such as SWF Opener flash drive he also asks me to install flash.

As everyone here I have installed, uninstalled all Flash etc. several times that I care to remember now.

I'm not technically minded when it comes to the nitty gritty of software use and programming, I like just things to work.

Please help as the most important thing I use my laptop so that I have now cannot!

    Following the previous post gm377

Summary: The Installation from the download from Adobe site installs Flash Player 10ActiveX AND the Shockwave Flash Object

I think that Version Stand alone of the Setup program installs ONLY the Flash Player, NOT the Shockwave Flash Object

That is why #1 in the post before this one is correct. The Shockwave Flash object (plugin is requested)

And that's what youtube asking because, though even they say "Flash Player", they assume and understand that the Adobe

    site installs both.

Now, Adobe is no indication that the uninstall program needs to be run before a download and installation of Flash Player 10 ActiveX.

In addition, because the beta was installed and now isn't there and with uninstalls and installs, you never know if there is a problem.

Flash Player 10 ActiveX should be listed in Add/Remove and Manage Add ons Shockwave Flash - Adobe Systems, Inc. - object

Enabled-ActiveX Control must be registered and the file is Flash10c.ocx.

Solution: Back to the Adobe test site - http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about , keeping your add ons disabled and enabled as you have indicated in the screenshot of today (20/11/09) and as the message is ' an additional plugin is required to view some items on.

This page"and the small image says"Get Plugin"and when you click it, the message is it wants to install Flash Player. The test is clearly you say that the Shockwave Flash (ActiveX Control Flash10c.ocx) object is not there, and saying: it wants to install Flash Player, it also says Flash Player 10 ActiveX isn't here either, or the "Get Plugin" would not fail.

If Yes, do it! Don't forget to restart later, check in Add/Remove and see what is listed, check in Manage Add ons and see what is there. Then see what youtube to say and your slides in Power Point and where else you want to go :-)

The worst that can happen is that it won't do the job and it will uninstall it and reinstall, but I'm hoping success!

Sorry for the long posts, but I write as I think.

Nice screenshots by the way, thanks

    UPDATE:

I ALMOST FORGOT, LOOK OUT FOR THE GOOGLE TOOLBAR. IT IS GENERALLY VERIFIED AND WILL INSTALL WITH ADOBE FLASH IF YOU DO NOT UNCHECK HIM.

  • Embedded flash videos display problems

About 2 weeks ago I got the error message so that on Youtube that I needed to update my flash software. I did, and since then I do not see the videos that are embedded on Web sites. I can see if I click on the direct link only and it jumps to the top of the youtube page, otherwise all I can see is an icon. Is it possible to go back to my old version of flash? I just checked IE manage add ons and it says I have 9.0.28.0 will continue to operate, but when I go to the Adobe page that detects which version I use this says I have the latest version 10.something. I use IE 8 (which I don't like) is possible to go back to 7 and avoid this whole mess? If so, how? I have not run the latest Windows updates, btw. I have a Google toolbar that I love. Please don't tell me to get rid of it because it was a pain to find and install after that I updated to I.E.8 and he threw it.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to be able to view embedded videos.

Hi SF, I think at this point you will need to uninstall and install the new version of FP 10.0.42.34. The Shockwave Flash

Flash10c.ocx object not moving to manage add ons, when well even you installed FP 10.0.32.18.

Here is the link for the uninstall program after you have clicked on the "Windows" version SAVE to your desktop:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html

Here is the link to the installation program that you can run immediately after you uninstall:http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

It is NOT saved to your desktop.

(I had an internet cut this morning or I would have posted this earlier)

Follow the instructions completely to uninstall and do not forget to restart TWICE to clear all the old versions. After installation, reboot once.

When you are finished click here to test: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

Then test your Web sites to see if everything works as it should and after return.

    Kind regards

Thanks for the links (screenshots) JLavius. You said that you don't have toolbars like Google, but you have a complement of Google on "update Google Plugin, Google, Inc., npGoog... »

What I suggest do you is go to manage Add ons and turn OFF each Add on EXCEPT the following:

Shockwave Flash Object - Flash10c.ocx, Shockwave ActiveX Control - SWDir.dll and Java Add ons.

After you do this, Reboot (Restart) your computer and then go on the sites with which you are having problems. See if you have improvement.

  • diditbox.ocx error 339

This error was coming, can help you.

    Hi grjmmr1,

Here are some generic information about error 339: http://www.runtimeerrorsfix.com/what-is-runtime-error-339.html.  In essence, there is some kind of problem with the program that uses diditbox.ocx or this file is missing, lost, corrupted, or deleted (which I could find nothing about anywhere).

When the error appear?  Please post the error message Word for Word accurate and complete including all codes.  What program you trying to use or help when it occurs?  It prevents you from doing something or effects you notice when it happens?  Does it occur rarely or often or always at startup or is there any model you can identify?  Which Windows operating system you use (e.g., 32-bit Vista Business SP2)?  Have you recently installed new programs or since this started? -who would be the likely causes of the problem.

We will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

, Type sfc/scannow go and let it run.  It will scan and try to the difficulty of some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228. It can include more information on this file.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  They tried to set itself to run at the next reboot.   Answer Yes and restart to run the program.  It will scan and attempt to resolve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a potential cause.

If this does not work, then please post the Event Viewer error messages about diditbox.ocx (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Look in the sections of the system and applications.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Start in safe mode with network and see if the problem is here.  A result allows us to narrow down the search for the cause.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, see:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, see:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial56.html.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

It is possible, that it is malware.  Update and run a scan complete with your current security software.  If you do not have because they can help, try the following programs. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx.

Perform a full search on your computer (a complete advanced search of all of the computer in Vista and Windows 7) for diditbox.ocx see if you can find it and from there to identify what it is associated (possibly by the record, it's in its properties, or everything you can find about it).   If we can identify the program, we will be more closer to finding the cause and possibly a solution.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, please answer my questions above and also include the results of what you have tried in your next reply.  We will have to examine more deeply the possibility of infection, or that the information you provide may give us a clue on what to try next.

    Good luck!

Go ahead and uninstall all the HP software on your computer. Reinstall the patch to make sure that uninstall does not delete anything from the patch. • Flash.ocx is missing for the downloaded flash game

I specified in the title is because it's the whole question and not in the browser. Anyhoo...

    Operating system: Windows 7

    Browser: Firefox (last update)

    Flash worm: 16.0.0.235

I have a flash downloaded on my desktop game. He worked before so I know that there is a solution, but I forgot it in time, that I deleted it then returned to him now. Whenever I try to play, being administrator or not, I get the same error message.

This program requires a component missing Windows

Looking for a solution on the Microsoft Web site. If a solution is available, there will be steps taken to resolve the problem.

    (Game details here.)

This program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.

I googled on how to solve this problem, it has been uninstall Flash completely and reinstalling from the ground upward. I just did this and nothing has changed. I've also seen to download the .ocx himself and place it in the folder of the game who needs them, that has not changed anything.

    Help?

Also, if I asked this before and you will remember me, sorry. I didn't not favorite the other thread and forgot.

The game is looking for the version of Internet Explorer from Flash Player.  (With a built-in Windows web browser, applications are usually embedding of instances of Internet Explorer)

The best way to solve this problem is to launch Internet Explorer and go ahead with the download at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

  • How to remove Flash folder Flash10u.ocx

I made the mistake to delete the files of the Flash Windows folder instead of using the uninstall program. Now I find myself with just the 10u.ocx Flash dll that cannot be deleted because it will not allow access. He tells me that it cannot access and "check if the disk is full or if it is write-protected or is not currently in use."  This problem started when I had a windows startup system fails as PC cannot locate Windows\system32\config and I had to re - install windows from my recovery disc.

He ended up leaving 2 versions of windows 'My Computer' in I tried to delete the folder Windows unwanted but because the dll above cannot be uninstalled I'm stuck. The reason that he had arrived there in the first place when I me in re-installed Windows OS and Adobe asked if I wanted to install update of Flash player. I don't think and you press ok. Now because I had installed under the PS Adobe flash, CS 5 and several other Adobe programs (that I really don't want to uninstall) I think that his conflict with the original Windows operating system. I tried the uninstall program on the Flash site with no luck. I also tried to cancel registration through "regsvr" but so far that does not allow me to delete as well.

    Can someone help me?

    Two things you can try:

    change the security settings for this file (how depends on your version of Windows);

    Try Unlocker.

  • No free space after deleting files - trouble with optimized storage?

Hi, I have macos Sierra and I deleted many files to my main drive and also to my external hard drive (both to the Mac OS Extended format) in preparation for the boot camp. I also emptied the Recycle Bin, although there is much less space on the two disks that it should be and the majority of the space is obviously indicated under "purgeable". I thought it would not be a problem, because I assumed that the space would be released, if I move all of the files there and if I need for the new Windows partition. However, this assumption was false. I can't simply use storage that I released. I can't move there all the files and I can't create the partition from free space. What can I do with it? It's pretty frustrating... Thanks for the help!

You must use the Bootcamp Assistant to create the Bootcamp partition.

Please provide details on the total space and free space on your internal drive. Post screenshots of what you see in system-> storage information. In addition, select the drive in Finder-I press control and post a screenshot of the window read the information.

  • When I deleted a picture of my MacBook, why it also remove the external hard drive?

So I tried to help my wife to free up space on his MacBook Pro by putting all of his photos on an external hard drive. After iPhoto slide the hard disk and wait 40 minutes so that he could transfer, I wanted to make sure it worked. I ejected the disk and then plugged in. Of course, all iphotos were still there. Just to be sure, I deleted one file in the folder on the computer's iphoto. I went to my shock and horror, the external hard drive, that it has been deleted it too! How is that possible? I've been scouring the Internet trying to retrieve this file with no luck. It was not in the trash. There is a tab "recently deleted". Time machine was not turned on. iCloud shows nothing. I can't download any software, because the computer is completely filled. How is it possible that by deleting this folder on the computer he did also leave the hard drive? AND it has not been saved in the trash? I have used PC, and whenever I need something in return, he was ALWAYS in the trash. And if I deleted something on the computer with an external hard drive connected, it would NEVER be removed from the external hard drive at the same time. I'm so frustrated and feeling SO bad that I deleted a folder with important pictures of our kids. Is that what I can do to recover the pictures? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You used Time Machine at all? I see you say it was not on, but it never on and is at - it a backup Time Machine on the Macbook Pro?
