  • Wireless Dell Inspiron 15 (5558) after the sleep or hibernate (Win7 pro)

    Hello

Just bought my new Dell Inspiron 15 (5558). There is an annoying problem with wireless connection - after sleep or sleep, it is not wireless reconnect automatically extended:

    1. I have the latest drivers (downloaded from dell with the service number support);

    2. already unchecked the box "Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" (to the adapter, power management);

3 other computers, tablets and smart phones work perfect with the same router.

So, I tried almost everything (search the dell community forum) - nothing helped.  It is so boring.

Please, any ideas or possible solutions?

    Kind regards

    Tom

    Hello, Mr. Todd,

Thanks for your time and your support. I tried your solution/suggestion, read almost all of the subjects with the options 'wifi connect' and etc... Nothing helps.

... But, after an hour of work and different "algorithms", I think I found the solution for my problem:

    1. the Device Manager; Network cards

    2. in 'Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport (both) cards' Power manager unchecked box with "allow the computer to turn off this device."

    3. in 'Intel (r) dual band Wireless' faces - case manager checked with "allow the computer to turn off this device."

    4. it seems that this movement has helped to solve this problem. Now, after hibernation or sleep my wifi mode will automatically connect.

    Thank you

  • Dell Inspiron Touchpad does not turn off

I've been through everything, and it seems that there is no real help available for this problem.  I bought a Dell Inspiron 5050 in August 2012.  Updated November 7 to Windows 8 and I hated typing since (which is unfortunate, because I'm a student who wrote many papers) because since the installation of Windows 8, the toggle switch that disables the touchpad no longer works.  Not only that, but even without touching the keyboard, the cursor jumps around and I find myself correcting the text at least 1 to 2 times per line (Yes, by writing this, I already had to solve four, making five, errors).

I spent more than 2.5 hours on the line then a tech controlled my computer remotely (I got another problem solved) and he could not understand either.  There IS NO option to disable the touchpad in the Control Panel, or change the settings for sensitivity.  I tried to uninstall the driver, and it did not work.  Currently, I have a big piece of cardboard glued on the touchpad, and which has not helped at all.  I HATE Windows 8 because of this whole fiasco (and I tell everyone I know about the many problems I've had so far).

Maybe this isn't even the problem of Microsoft, but the answers tech with insulting tones kindergarden instructions don't WORK, then please do not give me one.  If you can't tell, I'm more annoyed and I wish that I had NEVER been updated to Windows 8!

If someone gives me a USEFUL answer, I'd be happy and stop to say Facebook, Twitter and everyone I know face-to-face how I HATE Windows 8!

    Thank you!

Search the Trackpad in the start screen and open the settings tab.  Then open the settings file.  Make sure the tapping is checked.  Click it and then click on the gear at the end of the line (you must pass your cursor over the line of tapping to get the equipment).  Make sure the Double tap to toggle the TouchPad is checked.  Click to close this window and OK on the first window.  See if the double tap works now.

Buy a USB hub. They are inexpensive; Amazon has them from $5.99
    US.

They transform into a USB port into several, as an extension or a cube
tap turns an outlet in several.

I use a Dell Inspiron 1420 system. I hope that what I say below apply to your model, because most of the users of other brands could not follow my method.

Right-click on a free space of the desktop > customize > mouse pointers (Yes, the mouse pointer) > here's where others could not follow...
Do you see the Dell Touchpad window? If so, click it > click Device Select Settings button > under the Touchpad, click Activate. Note You can also check "Disable Touchpad/Pointing Stick when external USB mice is present > OK"

    Window of the touchpad:

    Device select / settings:

  • Dell Inspiron 5558 two graphics cards

My Dell Inspiron 5558 is equipped with 2 graphics cards.

Map chart Intel(r) HD 5500 and NVIDIA GeForce 920 M

How does it work? Are the two cards, parallel work or one of them is main and second is inactive.

How can I detect it? If the two cards work at the same time how can I detect what card is the cause of disorders?

It is a hybrid system - nVidia GPU works as a coprocessor for the Intel GPU.  You choose which GPU is used annually by application with the nVidia control panel.

The GPU from Intel is still the main: it's the connection between the system and the display.

  • Disable TouchPad on Dell Inspiron 1720 - Vista Home Premium

I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop and I would like to disable the touchpad so that I can move the cursor of the mouse only.

Why? One wonders...  I can type text, when suddenly, the cursor will jump and I tap on the line above on the previous text. This has happened before, when I had first PC, and I've sorted it by disabling the touchpad. However, I have re installed the OS, etc, and everything must be reset to zero.

2 years on I forgot how do. I tried Panel Manager and control device, but he can't get by on this machine. The system is Vista Home Premium, if it is of no relevance.

Try the web site of Dell for Win 7 drivers. There may be some here. If it does not exist, you might have to wait until the public release before Dell post...   Mike Hall MVP - Windows Experience http://msmvps.com/blogs/mikehall/

I had this mess when I did a system update Dell routine and sent the new Alps driver, who immediately washed Select my previous settings.

I finally solved the problem, at least on my machine.

    A. Click Start; in the RUJN area type: main.cpl

    B. click on the graph of a touchpad

    C. click DEVICE SELECT

    D. at the bottom of this window, you will see a "Disable touchpad" line preceded by a checkbox. Check the box and now the touchpad is disabled.
