Detach the CSS stylesheet

Hey hey folks

How would I file a stylesheet of a page? Looking at my screen, under the tab 'index' (index being the page I'm working on), it says "source code, gallery_css.css, gallery_css_copy.css. I want to delete the file gallery_css.css of origin of this list, so 1) I get not confused about who css I'm adding styles to and 2) so I can play with the gallery_css_copy.css file and does not affect the original work that I did.

Thank you

Hello

In your head, look content for a line that contains the link (or import), the css file and either remove the line or comment on him.

    I try to use a custom CSS stylesheet and cannot operate. I created my style sheet and downloaded to only show under the shared components > > Cascading Style Sheets.

    Displaying the source code for my pages currently indicates a reference to what I think is the default style sheet.
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="/i/css/apex_3_1.css" type="text/css" />
    But no reference to the one I uploaded. So I guess I need to add a new reference pointing to my sheet.

    So questions-
    -How and where can I add this reference?
    -Is the right way to do things if I want to use my own styles?

    West Indies,

    Go to your shared components > Temples > select the page template, you want to ask your CSS and in the "Header" area, you will see references to the CSS of the APEX, something like:

    Now, just add your CSS reference after reference CSS of the APEX.

    I hope this helps.

  • Newbie? Why did the CSS stylesheet work in some browser &amp; amp; not in others?

    I'm new to DW - always used GoLive - make the transition.

    I created styles in an internal style sheet and them moves on an external style sheet. The page works fine on my computer with the external style sheet in every browser I check it in but... When I download the page with the external stylesheet to the server-it only works in Safari, Opera, Windows IE-6. It does work in FireFox 2 and Netscape 9. It is as if there is no stylesheet attached to the document. Can someone explain what is happening? I tried everything but can not understand. Don't know enough to ask the right questions in google.

    Osgood,

    Thanks for the suggestion. You were quite correct. I have contacted my server company, sent the URL you provided to them so the owner could see what the problem was and would be able to fix it. They didn't believe me at first.

    They just called and said that they fixed. It now works correctly.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Attempting to add the css stylesheet in an old fashioned html file.

    I have several old html files that I have worked regularly during the past 25 years.  Recently, I recognized the value of separate css style sheets.

    I implemented the old html files in folders separated like this-

    _CSS

    _images

    _notes

    _scripts

    .htaccess

    index

    View profile

    _css folder contains a file named style.css that looks like this-

    @charset "utf-8";

    / * CSS document * /.

    < style type = "text/css" >

    H1 {make-size: 250%; do-family: "Comic Sans MS"; color: #66FFFF; text-align: center ;}}

    H2 {make-size: 120%; do-family: "Comic Sans MS"; color: red; text-align: center ;}}

    < / style >

    < body style = "" background-color: #55035F "; "

    }

    I open the index with DW file. -I click on "class" at the bottom of the page. -I click on "join" style sheet. -shows file/url: "_css/style.css" - I clicked 'OK' - it says "_css/style.css file seems to be an html file and cannot be opened as css.

  • More information on BC dynamic menus and using the CSS with them

    Hi all

    The tutorial of gurus of BC on the dynamic Menus and how to style with CSS didn't make any sense for me, unfortunately. The presentation was too rushed and the screen is too small to see what was going on.

    In a previous question, I discovered how to apply CSS classes to the BC menus after a bit of a course autour.

    I put the # in front of the name of the item ID and a. in front of the class name and it was not necessary.

    I have other questions, as I am still struggling to get a dynamic menu BC style correctly with the CSS I created.

    1. If you choose CSS as the menu type, can set the font, the State of reversal and color of background of the menu items in the dynamic menu section? Or are you to this style in the CSS stylesheet?

    2. If you choose CSS as the type of menu, the option to say how the submenu is located under the main menu disappears. Then you need to define in the CSS stylesheet? And if yes in which element? UL or LI?

    3. If you choose only CSS/HTML, how is this different from the CSS option to the dynamic menu?

    4. If you choose CSS as the type of menu and if you set the width and height in the menu item, and then set a different width and height in the CSS stylesheet, the width and height wins?

    5. If you want a dynamic menu to display on an Android phone, you have to choose only the CSS/HTML and do all the style in the CSS stylesheet? Or you can avoid dynamic menus all together and just use a UL list in the model? (I'm a reagent liquid checkerboard in DW for the model).

    6. I think the dynamic menu, I have done with CSS as the type, not to show and hide items in menu void correctly on an Android phone. Is there a problem with the javascript in dynamic menus?

    Thanks for any help that you people can give on these issues!

    OK, I found out what was the real problem. I did not use the menu Module 2 V to insert the menu into the model. I made the mistake to use the label menu in the Toolbox by default.

    The menu module V2 tag is NOT in the Toolbox.

    The tag is: {module_menu, version = '2'Flash '5475' =, moduleTemplateGroup = "Default"}

    When you configure the menu items in the Menu Module in the main part of the site, select the type of menu CSS/HTML, and then just set up links and menu items. No need of style or even add classes of menu items. Although you can also do.

    The elements you style are found here: / ModuleTemplates/Menu/Default

    Problem solved 3 years later! Thank you, @Penny of the Fortune Green who explained it all. In the meantime, I've used content holders to implement lists ul for menus and their style entirely in CSS. Laughing out loud! Welll it wasn't bad, I learned a lot about CSS.

    Details of the Menu Module 2 can be found here: using the module_menu v2

  • Why do I have two of the same CSS stylesheets on my page?

    I created my index page by using a 3-column layout, and I brought in one of the sample css style sheets.  Now, I have 3 css style sheets to my page:

    (1) thrcolfxdhdr.css

    (2) samplegreenyellow.css (I changed the name of the sample)

    (3) level3_3.css

    The last two have still .footer .header, etc..

    When I make a change in #2 it does not change anything on the page.

    When I make a change in the #3, it makes a change.

    I need both.  Now I'm doing twice each change!  Can I delete one?  If so, which?

    Thank you.

    To see if you can do without of style sheets, go to the head of your document (not the style sheet) in Code view.

    Find one of the statements (link

    If your two style sheets are in fact identical, you can delete one with no poorly done. Also remove the link and delete the stylesheet.

    If there are slight differences (you can find them by viewing both in vertical mode Code, mosaic in the window menu), add the differences to one of the style sheets and then delete the other.

    You might be able to compare two stylesheets quickly in the CSS Styles Panel (but not with a link in the comments) while your HTML page is open, but you won't see the details aside.

    To answer your question (by the way!), you see no changes in your page after you change the #2 stylesheet is Stylesheet #3 because... called after the #2 stylesheet... destroy any changes you had made in the #2 style sheet. Then when you have made changes in the #3, they were NOT rescinded by #2 because #3 came to be called AFTER #2. Priority is what the Cascade is all about.

  • Place the meta tag data BEFORE the CSS data

    Hello

    From my place of work updated our browser default to IE9 to IE11, I had some problems with my built Muse works site. Some text boxes overlap and mingle others make the text unreadable.

    My IM business team is at a loss as to why, especially as the site works perfectly on my home computer / Surface IE11, Edge, Chrome and FireFox.

    The site includes more than 800 pages and saved on / accessed from a shared drive (rather than a web server) by 60 of our users.

    My IM team suggested that I add a compatibility meta tag (as it works fine in compatibility IE9 mode) so I tried to add the metatag < meta http-equiv = "X-UA-Compatible" content = "IE = 9" > using the "HTML for < head >" box in 'Page Properties' muse.

    However, he could not force the site to open in compatibility IE9 mode and I said since that it is because the meta tag that I added is used in the section "Custom head HTML" that comes after the "CSS" section when Muse exports as html.

    So, my question is this - is it possible for me to add a meta tag BEFORE the data CSS, up with the normal meta rather than in the main HTML area custom tags?

    The short answer is no (other than to manually update each .html file).

    "The site has more than 800 pages and is saved on / accessed from a shared drive (rather than a web server) by 60 of our users."

    Is the site served by using a web server via http/https, or users open the index.html file using the file:// Protocol?

    Don't worry the vendor prefixes.   -moz, - webkit,-ms and -o are not technically valid HTML code, but they are necessary to support many advanced in the browsers CSS properties.

    To Center your container, just add auto margin: 0.

    / * ~ ~ This container fixed-width surrounds the other div ~ ~ * /.

    . Container {}

    Width: 840px; / * set to auto on the sides, coupled with the width, the layout centres * /.

    Auto margin: 0;
