Detection microphone Inspiron 9400 problem

Hello

I am new to laptops and Vista (the laptop in question use Vista Home Premium (without SP)) until yesterday I was with my microphone with a program called Teamspeak. Whenever I plug the microphone into the socket of a dialog box would come by asking what the device is, it was something like: (Options) Mic, Line in, etc... I have selected microphone then click on 'ok '. But yesterday, I also checked "don't show it this new opton after selecting the microphone. It worked then, but the dialogue is more rises and the microphone is not detected, I tried: start > Control Panel > hardware & audio > Sound > manage audio devices. It seems that the microphone has not detected during the test of speech.

Is there a way I can get this dialog box? (The dialogue when the microphone is inserted)

Thanks, Stephen

Good then Ive internet scowerd to subject a houre read a lot of black screen of death without success problems.  Ive come to the conclusion that it is a unique problem.

  • The upgrade of Inspiron 9400

I have an Inspiron 9400 with 60 GB HDD & Windows XP. I plan to upgrade the hard drive of 320, & install Windows 7 and possibly Windows 10.  I was assured by the Dell technical support that my Inspiron works with Windows XP or Vista. I already ran Rebecca Linux Mint 32-bit from the DVD without any apparent problem. My question is, I can actually install Win 7, or should I switch to Linux? Windows XP gets worse & worse! I held account install Win 7 on a bootable usb hdd to test this point.

  • Inspiron 9400/E1705 - lines vertical and the seeds, and then black screen on startup of the computer

I have an Inspiron 9400/E1705 with a nVidia Geforce Go 7900 GS. A few months as the computer started showing the seeds while I was game (textures does not, massive downturn, etc.) and then finally horizontal began to appear on the screen, from start-up. I was unable to get into Windows with the exception of Safe Mode. I thought that the problem was the graphics card, and some users on this forum have confirmed this suspicion. Although in May 2007, when I was still under warranty, I got the card replaced, I don't was more under warranty at the time so I started shopping around for a replacement.

Before that I bought a replacement, however, the computer just stopped starting upwards. Previously, at least I could get Safe Mode and check my e-mail or Word process; now the screen stays empty (the LCD and an external monitor) and seems not even to try to start. The power and it occupied lights turn green, however, and remain like that until I turn off the power. I tried to boot with a RAM chip, thanks to the optical drive removed, with the hard drive, removed, and combinations of these, just to see if anything would change (anything).

My question is if this can also be a symptom of the graphics card does not, or I have a bigger problem on my hands?

    Thank you.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I ran the diagnosis before the white screen began to arrive, and only errors have been associated with the video.  I can't run any diagnostic now, though, to see if there are new mistakes, which is why I want to confirm a dead card can do that until I get a new.

  • Satellite L650 - Windows detected a hard disk problem

I have 9 as 4 months old satellite L650 that this microsoft Windows message keeps popping up. "Windows detected a hard disk problem, back up your files immediately to prevent the loss of information... etc" have I not a bum hard drive or is it a mistake?
    I have
have the media discs to recover and this means that I have to reformat the HARD drive and try again. !

    Hi watthhel,

I think the error message must be correct to Windows 7 and you must do what tells you the message: immediately back up your data and replace the HARD drive with a new one. In your case I would never save important files on the HARD drive. Too risky to lose important files

Your laptop is 4 months old and that would mean it s covered by the warranty. Contact your local authorized service provider and ask for a replacement drive. They will exchange it and the service is free. :)

  • On the Satellite C - Windows HARD disk failure has detected a HARD disk problem

Since 2 days have been making repeated dialog "Windows detected a hard disk problem", warning of potential failures of the disc so back up, what I did. Disk in question is a Toshiba MK-5065GSXN.

As a non-tech user, my instinct is that a new laptop is a better choice than to call Toshiba support for a laptop warranty (2 years) out of.

On the other hand there may be a simple software fix. The opinion or advice welcome

    Hello

The message says that something is wrong with the HARD drive.
It might be possible that your HARD drive will die sooner or later so his need to backup data on another HARD drive, disk or flash memory.

Finally, I must say you n don't need to buy a new laptop just because your HARD drive starts to hurt work in such cases purchase a new HARD drive and replace it
HARD drive is not very expensive and the replacement of the HARD disk is very easy in your user manual

PS: what model of laptop you have exactly?

  • HP Pavilion g7-2010ne Notebook pc Windows detected a hard disk problem

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion g7-2010nr Notebook pc and two nights ago, I got a message saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem" and how do I back up my data and then repaired. So I tried it to my WD My Passport 500 GB external hardrive but as soon as he gets as 57% when the reverse said it will create a file system image, the backup fails I tired it three times to try different solutions I found on the help forums, but nothing helps and I don't know if maybe it's because the hard drive problem or another problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

You can back up by using HP Recovery which should not have problems:

You can stop it anytime before restoration starts if you encounter any problem.

  • Why my computer says "Windows has detected a hard disk problem", even though it says that the drive works fine in the properties?

    Hello

    I was doing some courses on my computer until this window came on my screen and playback;
"Windows detected a hard disk problem. I immediately went and checked in the properties to see the current status of the disk, and it says "this device is working properly" I am confused and decided to restart my computer. Again, read the error message and it says that the disc was allowed in properties. Every 15 minutes or so, the same error message. I'm running on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and have had the computer since 2008. Is this a virus? Or - is this just the computer falsely detect a problem?
    Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much

    Liam

What you see in the drive properties in Device Manager has to do with drivers and the drive configuration, not the real state 'physical' the reader.

First of all, I error side of caution and if sure you have a backup of all your personal files, data, music, photos, contacts, movies, etc., external media (favorite external hard drive).

Run the check disk (chkdsk); I suggest to run with two checked options, difficulty of file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

How to run the check disk at startup in Vista or Windows 7
     http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/67612-check-disk-Chkdsk.html

Many manufacturers of computers and most hard disk manufacturers have diagnostic tools free you can download and run to check the status of your drive. Check on the web sites of their respective support.

  • Cannot turn on my wifi on a dell inspiron 9400

We bought the linksys wrt54gs and all is well with our 2 other laptops to connect to the internet. I can't activate my wifi on dell inspiron 9400, in order to connect wireless. I think that this is supposed to be fn f2, to allow, but who doesn't.

    Help, please...

What symbol is blue on your F2 key?

    (1) a radio station antenna?

    (2) a battery?

    (3) others?

If you do not have a radio station antenna, then look for a switch turn on your wireless adapter.  If you have a switch, it should be located on the side of the computer.  If you have a switch, turn on the light of Wi - Fi to your computer on and outside.

In addition, have messed about in the Bios of your computer?  If so, then maybe you accidentally turned off your card wireless in the bios of your computer.

In addition, on some computers, you can disable the card wireless in your wireless network card settings (double-click on the bottom wireless icon on the right).  Then click here to see if your wireless card is turned off.

Also, in Device Manager, where you found "Use this device (enabled)" - set to 'disable', restart the computer and then reset "enable" and see if that helps.

  • Windows detected a hard disk problem

I have a dell dimension E520 running Vista Home Basic 32-bit. It is about 2 years old. After login, I get the following message in a dialog box. The message continues pop - up every 10 minutes, or so...

"Windows detected a hard disk problem and you need to back up the files and contact the manufacturer to determine whether the disk should be repaired or replaced."

    "The next disk reports failure.
    Disc name: SAMSUNG HD160JJ/P
    Volume: /; C: /.

I have run "chkdsk" and also contacted Dell who advised a full diagnosis running. This indicates that all aspects of the computer and the hard drive are ok.

    Hello tassie steve,.

You should replace the disk, and then clone on all content, including the MBR (master boot record) to the new drive. What brand you buy, you'll be able to download this free utility software from their site. Do it now, while you can always transfer your data! Hope this helps you. Make it a great day!

  • Add SimpleDrive external hard drive for Inspiron 9400

I use a drive external 250G hard SimpleTech SimpleDrive. I had plugged in a Dimension desktop computer and it works fine. I am abandoning the office and try to connect the external hard drive to my laptop Inspiron 9400. When I connect the drive via a usb cable, the disc sounds as if it's hunting and is never recognized by the laptop.  The external hard drive has its power supply on so I won't try to power it through the usb port. Any suggestions?

A message box appears every 10 minutes saying "Windows detected a hard disk problem" disk name VOLUME: WDC WD3200BEVT - 602CTI ATA DEVICE: C:\;D:\        If I click on backup now (that I tried to do it on the hard drive Seagate and CD... and it gets to about 35 to 50% then fails)... it goes to the BSOD... Yesterday, I bought a Driver Update. and this morning I ALWAYS get the message "Windows has detected a hard disk problem '...» I'm not very savvy computer... I researched this days... I gave up... Help, please! ....

    The disc is a failure.

Copy what you can from it to your backup device. You may need several attempts to make the copy.

Don't try to backup the drive: is not remaining usable for long enough for a full backup complete.

Then replace the disk and reinstall Windows and your applications and data, and retrieve your information from the user of the copied data.

When I opened my cell phone message shows that Windows detected a hard disk problem I use Toshiba laptop windows 7

    Hi Vimalpal,

To provide the proper resolution, I would need more information on your side.

    1. What is the number of the model of the laptop?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer before this problem?

    Method 1:
I suggest to run the troubleshooter and check if that helps.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:

I suggest you run the disk check and check if it helps.

    Check a drive for errors

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

Important: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.
