Detection of Flash Player or plugin on stand-alone systems

I was instructed to download and apply the latest flash player (to be in conformity with the operational guidelines for patch vunerabilities) to our stand-alone systems that are not connected to the internet.  These systems can be connected to the network because of contracts existing between our Organization and the contractor.  I was able to download the latest version of flash player/plugin for these stand-alone computers.  Our office is not interested to install Flash player for computers that do not already pre-installed flash, only those who have older versions that need to be patched.  My problem is what I've done the research implies solutions that require access to an internet/Web page to check if the Flash has been installed.  Is there another method to check if Flash Player or the plugin are on these computers without being connected to a network or the internet?  We are also prohibited to install any 3rd party software that is not approved for use in our Organization. Any suggstions will be appreciated.  All computers are 32-bit OS - Windows XP SP3 or Windows Server 2003

You can download standalone installers from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

Test if you have Flash Player installed - will do you that manually or with a script?

FP is installed to

  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (32-bit systems)
  • C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash (64-bit systems)

  • Can't find the exe to install Adobe Flash Player 16 Plugin - Version 16.0.0.305

    Hello

    Currently in my customer's environment, we distributed Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.239 and under "Add or Remove Programs", I'll have below mentioned 2 entries.

    1 adobe Flash Player ActiveX 15

    2. adobe Flash Player Plugin 15.

    In the version of Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.239, I was able to download installer exe in offline mode for - 15 ActiveX Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Flash Player Plugin from 15.

    Now, I plan on deployment last version of Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305. I have found exe to install Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 16. (version - 16.0.0.305)

    I'm not able to find the installer exe for Adobe Flash Player Plugin 16 on the site.

    Can you please confirm if this Adobe Flash Player 16 plug-in is removed from the version 16? If this is not the case, can you please provide me the download link.

    Appreciate your help and your response.

    Kind regards

    Anand Prasad

    Hi Anand,

    If you have a Flash Player license for distribution (which seems to be what you do), you should have received an email with the download links for the installers.  If you distribute Flash Player without first license it, you must ask for distribution to Adobe Flash Player Distribution License. Adobe.  Once you do this, you will receive an email with links to download Flash Player.

    More information on the licensing and distribution of Flash Player within your organization is available in the Adobe Flash Player for Flash Player Administration Guide | Adobe Developer Connection.

  • How do I update Flash Player ActiveX & Plugin to an internal server at the same time?

    At work, we use both, Flash Player ActiveX and plugin, because of the use of different browsers. We have implemented a background update of our internal server.

    Updating via 'FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe', an extension of the ActiveX is updated and the Plugin is not.

    But if I do it in this order: update install ActiveX → update → install the update, the two Extensions → Plugin.

    Here is the mms.cfg:

    AutoUpdateDisable = 0

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

    SilentAutoUpdateServerDomain = [our server]

    SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging = 1

    Is it possible to update the two Extensions to an internal server at the same time?

    Hi Jak,

    The file currentmajor.xml is a relatively new, 2 versions there are, I think, but it seems to be missing in the file fp_background_update.cab of the release last month. The FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe for the 14.0.0.176 version is looking for this file, and not finding it, which explains why the Plugin is not updatable. Flash Player 15.0.0.152, we published yesterday and I confirmed that the file currentmajor.xml is in the new fp_background_update.cab package.  You can download the new package of the Adobe Flash Player Distribution fp_background_update.cab | Adobe page.  Once you deploy the new package on your server, the currentmajor.xml file must be in the directory of /sau, at the same level as 11, /14/ and 15 (new release of yesterday), and the Plugin should be updated after the ActiveX updates for the new version.

  • I found 2 Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugins (two years of bits on the same version)

    After having to downlonad Adobe Flash Player 64-bit because my browser Mozilla Firefox prompted me to do, I went to check my programs and features to make sure that everything was in order.

    I was puzzled when asked me to download this software because I thought as my personal laptop already had that, but I did anyway, when checking for programs and features, I saw that I had two identical files.

    Is it necessary to have both? They are exactly the same, there is no evidence that they want anything culinary, yet it seems that my Mozilla has not recognized the first.

    Because I'm not a technical genius, I need help. I'm afraid to delete one of them. I am afraid to delete the first since my cost of Mozilla to do not recognize it, but if I delete the second will be my other browser not recogize the second. Or maybe I'm complicates!

    I appreciate your help.

    Does look like this

    If Yes, this is normal - the ActiveX control is the add-on for Internet Explorer and the plugin is the add-on for Firefox.

  • How can I uninstall old Flash Player 15 Plugin that my pc won't let me?

    I'm having the problem to do a clean install, by completely uninstalling older versions.

    It is the manual method to uninstall Flash Player on Win7 and below.

    Note: Under Windows 8 and superior people will mess up their systems in doing so.
    If you are on one of these platforms, don't do that.  Seriously.

    First of all, this procedure is invasive.  It is a fantastic time to backup anything critics on your computer, if you do not already have current backups.

    Perform a new installation of Flash Player on Windows:

    https://forums.Adobe.com/thread/928315

    If you encounter one that you cannot complete (which you probably won't), it is a good indication that your file system is damaged.  This is perhaps something at random, or it is an alert that your hard drive will die.

    If this happens, first run chkdsk and repair problems with the file system:

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2641432

    If you're still stuck, and it's a file you can't delete, Unlocker will usually make available again: Unlocker - free download and software reviews - CNET Download.com

    If it is a registry key that you can not delete, then you are in territory less comfortable.

    Windows has already automatically analysis and repairs the registry, if something is spectacularly messed up, if you are in this State.  There are commercial utilities that offer to repair the registry, but I don't know any of them well enough to make a recommendation.  Personally, I consider as a sign that it is time to think of wiping the machine and start over with a new OS install.  Something is wonky and the system will happen certainly much better with a clean slate.  If your disc * is * dying, there is a good chance that you will push over the edge in the process, but it was already a matter of time, and it's better than losing it having not been backed up.

  • Impossible to install the latest version of Flash Player for FF in my Vista system

    Something really weird just happened.  I found that Foxfire had disabled my Flash drive 19,

    declaring that it was obsolete and dangerous.

    I went to the Adobe site and downloaded the installation to the latest version, the name of the file

    is flashplayer20_a_install.exe with a file size of 1,163 MB.

    But when I double-click the file, nothing happens.  I expect to have the popup with the

    query to run the file, but I got nothing.  I opened the Windows Task Manager and saw no.

    registration in the tab "Applications" of the installation routine, which means that it does not work.

    I thought that maybe the presence of FP19 could be a problem, so I uninstalled.  Could still

    do not run the installation of FP20.  So I deleted the installer downloaded from another Web site.

    and this program was called flashplayer20_ha_install.exe.  Before running it, I restarted my

    computer to reset everything.  I double-clicked it and still nothing.

    Rummaging in my downloads folder, I found an old Installer for public Service 16.  I clicked on

    on the subject and was able to install Flash Player 16.  Moreover, the size of the file for this install program

    has been 17.7 MB, which is 17 times larger than installers for FP20.  With FP16 still

    Currently, I again tried to install FP20 with futile results.

    So that these courses install programs seem suspicious.  Can anyone shed some light on what's going on?

    If adobe uses installers of heel, which means that it is a small program that goes out and gets the program. The reason for this is the download page; This page contains an option McAfee Installer, this is the reason for which they use the heels in this way, it allows them to combine this extra bloatware.

    There are a few options for you to do:

    (1) perform a manual uninstall completely and re-install the kind of pain.

    (2) a clean install, if things do not seem to work, even more pain.

    (3) use a scripted uninstall, clean and re-install

    To uninstall, you get the file to uninstall here:

    http://download.Macromedia.com/Get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe

    Right click and run as administrator

    You must then two files 1 is for Internet Explore flash and one for your Firefox Flash Player

    Right click and run as administrator

    If these files do not run for some reason, try a reboot and run, if they don't work out even while you might have a problem with your system, Antivirus preventing you, or a piece of malware or viruses.

    IF the manual installation does not try to go here: Adobe Flash update - version /BAT browse at SourceForge.net

    Download the downloadFlash_XPandUP.cmd file. (you can right-click and change to display the content.) Basically, this file will be doing the uninstall and clean install of your versions of plash player for you. Again, do a right click and run as administrator.

    Judging by the fact that you were able to install the older flash player; who is installing real reall not the heel seems to indicate something blocks the execution of the stub programs.

    I hope that gives you some advice

    Best regards

  • Adobe Flash Player 32-bit to 64-bit system?

    I have Windows Vista 64 bit OS but I use IE9 32-bit browser.  However, I mainly use Firefox.  I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (11.6.602.168) installed; I followed all the instructions on the help page - disable active x filtering, updating the drivers, disabled hardware acceleration, etc.  I want to know is should I have downloaded Adobe Flash Player 32-bit even though I have a 64 bit OS?  Flash player keeps freezing upwards.  I need to change my global settings?

    I think it's this thing:

    uninstall_flash_player.exe

    I've been using one from last fall, & he

    is a new version;  the old version seems to leave

    in a partially State software installed that don't

    allow the installer to work, while the new program uninstaller

    delete completely & installers can

    then move forward.

  • AIR works in debug flash CS5, but does not stand-alone.

    I have an application that uses the following code to access an XML file.

    var file = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath ("wbconfig.xml");

    fileStream.open (file, FileMode.READ);

    If (configXML.soldoutEnable == 'ON')

    soEnabled = true;

    on the other

    soEnabled = false;

    It works fine in debug mode (ctrl + enter), once I created a stand-alone .exe (sht, alt + F12). The .exe file does not read the file. and does not define the soEnabled. Can someone help me out here?

    I am running CS5, AIR 2 on windows XP. Thank you.

    This forum is using the AIR, not any other type of AIR application. Looks like you have a different type of AIR application. I think you might want to try the regular AIR (probably listed under Flex) forum.

  • How to search for viruses when a flash player automatically is pluged in the system

    Original title: how disable you autorun for USB Flash drives?

    Vist 32 bit Home premium Vista SP 2

    I heard that there are viri that can be run automatically when you install a flash drive in their PC

    How can we set up so that when you put a flash drive in your PC, the contents do not run immediately and you can scan the flash drive for infection first? is it something simple can do to bring that is safe?

    If your system is updated that would be fine, released an update which solved the problem.

    You can consult:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/967715

    Also, when anti-virus is enabled then when the attempt of malware to attack it will detect and remove it, so your PC is safe even if Malware attacks as long as anti-virus is updated and real-time protection is enabled.

    As soon as you put on your computer, you chose a password. This has nothing to do with Adobe ID. It is the administrator password that you need now.

  • Myrio as a stand-alone system

    Hello comrades,.

    I was wondering if there is a way to use myRIO NOR as an autonomous Council with no PC, such as LabVIEW is installed on an operating system and the pogram works on it.

    I tried to read about embedded Linux NI real-time OS, but there is no clear documentation of how to use it.

    Yes, your LabVIEW project you can create a "time real Executable ' under 'generation specifications' on the target of myRIO that you can deploy on the myRIO and set it runs automatically when myRIO Boote. Obviously, there's going to be any sort of user interface so you'll need to consider how you control / interact with it (or maybe just the log to the file data).
