  Hello

  Is there an easy way to browse the content of the hard drive on a real-time target by using the file path control (or another type of control)?

  What I have in my application is a PC real-time desktop (running on PharLap) who has a Main.vi running on it. There are a few configuration files (for this VI) I want to be able to read and record to that would be stored on the hard drive of the target in real time. However, when the application runs and I hit the Browse button, it displays the contents of the Windows machine and not the machine in real time. Is there something I'm missing?

  Please note that I can send via FTP on the Windows computer to the target in real time and can interact with the drive of the target in real time without any problem.

• Can not enter wildcard (*) in the file selection dialog box when opening a file

  It's something I've not seen before. I posted this question in the forum Autodesk AutoCad LT five days ago, but I got no answer at all. Because I'm not sure whether it is a Windows or a problem with Autocad, I thought I'll try to post here, too.

  On one of our AutoCad workstations, when you open a drawing, we cannot enter a wildcard character (*) in the file selection dialog box to help unravel the drawings.

  In other words, say there are 10 versions of a drawing with the number 5008. I should be able to enter the 5008 * and just see these ten designs. On this computer, when I try to type an asterisk (*), I get this error message: invalid character. The following characters are not allowed in file names: \ /: *? "<>

  Now, I know that they are not allowed... but I don't mean to create a file name. I'm just trying to classify them. On our other RTE Autocad workstations, the wildcard character works fine.  What's up with this one? Y at - it a setting or a variable that controls this?

• Photo of Pixmap vi on the target in real time

  I need to shoot some simple pictures in real time and display by PXI. The image is drawn with the functions of images in the palette of the graphics and sounds. To view through PXI, I found the RT IMAQ video output in the NOR-VISION package. So I need to convert the type of type picture IMAQ. I searched online and it seems these conversions all requires the 'Photo to Pixmap' vi, which I cannot find on the aim of RT.

  Is there another way to convert the picture in picture IMAQ without using this VI?

  The picture to Pixmap VI is not supported on real-time targets. The only other method I can find to get the pixmap cluster is to use Image 'Get' invoke node. However, if you plan to build this application into an executable, invoke node won't work anymore, as façade elements are removed in executable RT.

• Need help recovering data of the target in real time. Using NI 9233

  I have a cRio-9012 with 9233 module. I have recently setup of the software for the computer and the target. I have also gone through and set up the "NI 9233 start-up scan mode" to use on my controller. However I couldn't really get the execution of vis data. Could I have missed?

  The VI is executed, but it reads zero while I use an accelerometer (Wilcoxon research model 797-33).

• Why can't I get a glimpse of the indd files in the dialog box to open InDesign?

  It is unfortunate that Adobe does not add a plugin to display a preview of any Adobe source file in Windows Explorer (I mean, except for the PDF but I think that Microsoft did this).

  But I think it's ridiculous that I can't preview the source .indd inside the dialog box to open InDesign files. He says just, "no preview available". I am sure that this failure is related to what Windows can preview... again, not a good excuse!

  It is also the same problem in Illustrator and Photoshop... or program Adobe can get a glimpse of their own file format!

  I'm working on an application that is embedded in a desktop RT target.  To make the system easier to maintain in the future, I would like to be able to generate a DAQmx task programmatically to the *.ini file exported from MAX.  In this way, users don't know what my code does to recalibrate the sensors or manage new material; they only know how to use MAX and where to store the files in config on the target.

  Where are the task daqmx, channel, and scale information stored on an RT target?  I have been through the files on the target you are looking for something that contains my task data but have found nothing, while dropping a node of system property in a VI running on the target will give a correct list of the tasks that I set up.  (The project that contains the aforementioned VI has no tasks in it IE: I do not import into the project.)

  Exahustive keyword search led me to an answer on the forums.  I'll post here a brief summary in case someone else uses the same key words I.

  If you have successfully transferred your files and they are stored in a location on the hard disk, that is, in a folder or drive on your computer, they will remain on your computer, regardless of any number of reboots.

• How dio I remove the unwanted of dialog boxes when opening files in FM9

  Everytime I open the fm files in FM9 I am bombarded by a plethora of dialog boxes such as the ADD/EDIT VARIABLE, DITA CROSS_REFERENCE didn't intend to use. During the day, it must lead to probably over 100 clicks to get rid of these while being very annoying. Often, the work area is completely hidden by these dialog boxes. Is there a way to permanently delete these things and only open when we really want to do something like modifying a variable? Thank you very much.

  The feature you're looking for in FM9 is called "Workspaces." Your workspace is selected by using the dropdown in the top right of the window of FM, left minimize/maximize/close buttons. Simply set up the workspace exactly how you like it by opening the dialog boxes (or "pods") you use regularly, close the pods, you have not, fusion as the pods together as you wish, and moving everything exactly where you want. At this time, click this menu workspace and select "Save the workspace." The name that you want, and the next time that you open a document in FM, it should initiate this workspace automatically (assuming that it was the last workspace you had open... He memorizes the last workspace you used).

  For example, I put in spaces of work different for when I'm in the office or work at home (I have larger monitors at work, so I can use the space differently), but also of different workspaces for different phases of the drafting process. For example, I have a workspace for 'creation' which includes the pods for the Structure, elements, Variables, markers and cross reference.   I'm on Windows 8 on a ThinkPad W520 with a 1920 x 1080 screen and a secondary antibody NEC LCD2070NX 1600 x 1200 display connected via DisplayPort. The NEC is positioned to the left of the ThinkPad and raised higher than the ThinkPad display; the bottom of the NEC is near the center of the left edge of the ThinkPad.

  If I have a window of the Explorer of files open in the secondary monitor on the left and use this window to copy or remove some large files or folders, the progress dialog box is not visible. It is currently displayed in the "man no of land" above the main monitor and the secondary screen.

  The problem occurs when the secondary monitor is on the right, or above or below the primary. (I have tested some of these cases, but not completely). Also, this does not happen when the Explorer window is on the primary monitor. The problem does occur at all on Windows 7.

  Here's a film that illustrates the problem. For each image, I copied a large directory on the network and took a screenshot to display side by side and move the secondary display up to about 120 pixels in the control panel every time. You can see how the copy dialog box follows the secondary monitor vertically, but her left side is pinned to the left edge of the main screen, so he ends up disappearing from the screen.

  We use the exact and some error message in more detail on the issue.  This problem occurs with any file on the disk or only some of them?  You are logged as administrator?  Has anything changed recently (hardware or software)?

  The first thing I would say to run a Virus scan and malware.  If you do not have an antivirus program, then you can get one here: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials/

  If there are no problems found then not try the following steps:
