Difference between Instant andClone

Hello world
I wanted to know what is the exact difference between a cloning a virtual machine and snapshot of a virtual computer. Assume that if all system files that have been deleted for a VM can snapshot revert back. ?

Thank you
vmguy

At this point in time 'snapshot' of what a given virtual machine resembled a moment given snapshot in time.  Yes - if you have deleted files, it would be possible to revert to the snapshot and they would still exist.

A clone is a * new * VM based on another.

They are used for different purposes.

  • difference between Instant and complete customer oracle

    Everyone,

I had read a PDF of goldengate lines below. Someone please explain to me what is the difference between Instant and complete customer oracle?

What is the purpose of the XDK libraries. ?

"The full Oracle client must be used with the GoldenGate so GoldenGate programs"
have access to the Oracle XDK libraries. Do not use the Oracle Instant Client, who has not
These libraries. You can download the full client from Oracle's Web site. »

    Kind regards
    Santini

    The dealio is the following:

When you install the client software, you have several options as to the degree of what you get/install. The big chicken dinner is administrator, so you get all sorts of additional features, modules, libraries, utilities, etc. Candy hard end of Christmas is instantaneous, and has just enough features for, as you can guess now, connect a customer and that's about it. Several libraries have the feature in what that extra is needed. An example is FAN, or fast application notification, used the shift in Data Guard. A FAN API (Java) detects a failover and redirect a new client connection to the primary. GG use XDK for (in particular) is not important to a user, just the fact that it is available to connect to Oracle.

  • Difference between FYI and Notification

    Hi all

Sorry for the dummy question, but I'm a newbie BPM/BPMN and try to understand better what I use for my modeling process.

Could you please explain to me the difference between the FYI and Notification? When it is better to use?

Asked me to send an e-mail notification to users just to let them know where the process is, no manual action is required and the process must continue without interruption.

    Thanks for any help.

    Fairlie

    Hi Fairlie,

Here is a tool of 2 page that lists all the different activities in BPMN, gateways and Oracle 11g and 12 c BPM events and what they serve each to- https://blogs.oracle.com/soacommunity/entry/bpm_poster_for_bpm_suite

In your use case where you want to send an email to someone, and no manual intervention is required, use the Notification activity.

News is an Interactive activity and causes a work item instance appear in the Inbox an end user in the workspace.  The difference between this and other types of interactive activities is that the work item instance does not stop at this activity in the process, but instead continues on the next activity in the process.

A Notification activity is an automatic activity which does not create an instance of work item in an Inbox in the workspace, but rather sends a message of electronic mail, instant messaging, SMS or voice.

When the work item instances reach these two activities, they do not stop and continue them automatically the next activity in the process.

  • What is the difference between POS and VSC? Which should I use?

    Hello

Turns out we have a multitude of backup running for our virtual machine environment. We lack vCenter 6.0, 6.1 VDP, VSC 6.2P1, SnapManager for SQL and SnapMirror jobs put in place in OnCommand 3.1.2.

I go crazy trying to pierce the need to have all these products running of backups and snapmirroring data. Bottom line, our SnapMirrors for one or two Volumes take f o r e v e r... And that impacts my tests of SRM (when you use the replication of data).

I'm trying to clean up, he perfected down, consolidation, re-scheduling and friction on all these solutions. And in the middle of my panic, I thought that "these all do essentially the same thing? Taking snapshots and SnapMirroring data? »

So, my question to the community is, what is the difference between these solutions, or are they all essentially do the same thing? They confront each other, vying for the band width and stumbling on them to achieve the same thing? Right now my plan is to suspend all work of everything except VSC and SnapManager for SQL and do all this from VSC. This means suspend jobs in NetApp services.

I'm not the admin for POS, it is my co-worker, so he who installed independently of my work. Is it still necessary?

What brought me to all of this, besides the failure of MRS to transfer data (SnapMirror on request within a reasonable time) was noting the deltas for our work of snapshot is always huge at certain times of the day. For example, our biggest pork of data has a light snapshot at midnight, and he is constantly 71GB. This leads me to believe that this is a job, because it is predictable. The net effect is SnapMirror jobs take days, latency are several days and transfers has never really stop.

We plan to upgrade our pipe between our protected Site (HQ) and our DR Site (branch) of 50mbps at 100 Mbps. We have 100 out of our headquarters and 50 in our satellite TV right now, so we want to both be 100. Maybe that would solve the issue, but I still would be pretty effective.

If you need more information, let me know and I will fill you, or less make up something so I look like I know what I'm talking about.

    TIA!

    Steve

The reason why you do SnapMirror replication is DR. It is not a backup solution. If you stop all your SnapMirrors in OnCommand Unified Manager and your storage array, the production goes down, you no longer have a DR.

What does VSC is, it creates snapshots of your NetApp volumes, you can use for short term backup/recovery. The snapshots are not a real backup solution, however. If someone deletes a volume on the NetApp snapshots of this volume will not save you because they no longer exist. But they are still useful in many scenarios, such as Previous Versions of Microsoft CIFS options.

SnapManager aims to make consistent snapshots of demand for software such as MS SQL in your case. Instant database do not give you this ability, as they do not trigger the VSS suspension. More SnapManager for SQL gives you point in the ability to recover in time for your databases to SQL transaction logs, which provide none of the solutions above. However, as SnapManager creates snapshots, you must make sure that you have dedicated LUN for you SQL VM, otherwise you will be taking snapshots of the same volumes twice.

And now VDP makes backups of your environment. It supports long-term retention, as snapshots in general are not kept for more than one week or one month. Make sure that the data are stored on a separate volume from where are your virtual machines. Or ideally to a destination that is external to your storage group.

Hope that clears things up a bit. The result is, what you have is perfectly fine.

    (3) when the images are in the drive, can I remove them from the 'camera' - ' 'Gallery '? and they will remain on the drive?

Thank you to those who can help
    Karni

iCloud made only in iCloud, is usually not the part where you would hold pictures, it would be iCloud library that synchronizes your photos on your selected devices.

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

In most cases, optimize your photos should be enough to alleviate space issues on your device. However, if you have an exceptionally large library you may need to disable iCloud photo library on your mobile device and use instead the photo stream. You can then use a computer to manage the photo stream photos and have them automatically imported into you iCloud photo library.

  • Difference between uninstalling and place them in the trash?

    Hello!

I was just looking for help/precision, I was looking for apps that helped me to record the sound of my mac internally (not only the mic) and downloaded a few Online applications, soundflower is one, I think it is the certificate has expired because it was an older application, when app (+ another) does not seem to work I wanted to uninstall the I noticed that the instructions on the web had run the uninstall files, rather than simply move it to the trash that I was used to it since I got my mac, I was wondering if there was a difference between these two measures, with regard to one of the applications when I tried to open the uninstall file it opens a script editor which I am totally familiar with ,

Thanks for any help you can give me! It's my first post

Running an uninstall program will remove its support files outside of the application and can also delete its preferences file.

  • Difference between 'Reload' and "Reload (Override Cache)"?

Https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly#w_navigation, what is the difference between 'Reload' and "Reload (Override Cache)"? What makes "ignore cache"?

Reloading Web pages and cache bypass aims to obtain a new copy of perhaps obsolete or damaged files currently stored in the disk cache.
You can do it like the first attempt if a normal charging does not seem to provide a version of a Web site or if you are having problems with a Web site otherwise.

We usually have advice that if you have questions:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if an extension or theme (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problems.

  • Difference between "Download clear ' and ' clear list?

I clicked on the arrow down which is the icon for downloads. I right click on a file you downloaded and I saw an option 'clear list'. Another time, I clicked on 'Show all downloads', then on the top of the screen it displays a tab mentioning "clearly" downloads." I put my cursor on the words and it displayed "clears finished, canceled and does not download. I am confused and do not know if there is a difference between a clear list and clear downloads. I tried both and it appeared as if I had a document/file downloaded to a folder, it will not be deleted. But if I only have the document in the download folder, then it will fade. Please explain the two terms 'claire downloads' and 'clear list'. Any difference? What is the real action? Thank you.

No command should remove all files have been downloaded successfully. The only difference that I know is that 'Clear list' don't delete completed/canceled/failed downloads being listed in the popup window. He will still be in the downloads window that appears when you click on "show all downloads. When you click "Clear downloads", however, all completed/canceled/failed downloads will be removed both lists.
