Disable features/services online in Acrobat Reader ms?

With the new update, being released from Reader Acrobat Reader DC, I have problems with the use of the cloud storage and store sensitive data.

I looked around and the only information I've found how to turn off these new features are in reference to groups that use the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC, which means that they would execute this version business.

I installed and tested the new Acrobat Reader DC under Windows and OS X, there is no obvious option to disable the services that I'm talking about.

Services that I am referencing:

  • Adobe cloud storage service
  • Sending and tracking documents
  • Synchronization with several devices (for the use of the cloud storage)

Is it possible to disable the use of these services on an installation of an individual (not business) to Acrobat Reader DC?

Thanks in advance!

You can use the DC Adobe Customization Wizard on both versions of CD (classic or perpetual).

Adobe Customization Wizard

You can also use the Windows registry to disable these services.

  • How can I permanently disable the tool pane in Acrobat Reader ms?

I prefer to use this area of the screen to view the document; I don't really use the tools in this pane, but I deselect the component manually everytime I open Acrobat Reader. I would rather enable it only when I need it.

I can't find a setting to change it and I can't find anything in the FAQ or in a Google search for this version.

I am running Acrobat Reader DC version 2015.010.20059 on a windows 8.1.

    Hi mv0621,

Please, open a document and close the tool on right pane manually.

Then navigate to the Edit menu > Preferences > Documents and uncheck the option "Open tools for each document page.

Click OK to save the settings and restart the Reader app.

  • Security features in AA Pro & Acrobat Reader problem

    Hello

Adobe Acrobat Pro my PDF is indicated of having "no security" - everything is allowed.

When I opened that saved the document in Reader 9.4 it has safety features that I did not put there.

In particular, any addition of comments (and profit margins).

Any ideas how to fix welcome.

You must bring the version target of compatibility until a version that will enable this feature for the PDF file. You need to bring it up to PDF version 1.7 or Acrobat 8.0.

It would be better to start over with the original document from the source.

  • How to disable automatic updates in Adobe Acrobat reader 12?

    Hello

I tried to disable the updates in the software itself.

But he is always checking for updates.

Be a way to disable it? perhaps by REG Editor or something?

    Thank you!

By "player 12" you mean CD player or player 2015?  You can not disable the automatic updates.

Software more will this way in the future (like Windows 10), along with millions of users in the past, never taken the trouble to install the security updates.  Now, he has more no way around it.  A big step forward!

I recently upgraded to Acrobat reader DC, my operating system is windows 7, I have produced a file that I send as attachment, unfortunately the size is too large to send, how do I optimize the file in Acrobat reader, the option does not seem to be available.

    Hi mavisp97650958,

There are two ways to reduce the size of the page: -.

    (1) optimize PDF Acrobat Help. Optimization of PDF files

    (2) Split the PDF split a PDF | Adobe Acrobat DC tutorials

And both the option will work with the application Acrobat products download Adobe Acrobat | Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X, and not with free CD player.

However, you can use the option Send & follow-up to send big PDF files Acrobat help. Send and track large files online using Acrobat Reader DC.

  • Don't like the new pdf.js Viewer. How can I disable it and restore Acrobat Reader as my favorite plugin?

I don't really like the look-and-feel of the new pdf.js Viewer. On my machine (6 yr old HP running Windows XP with sp 3) it displays more slowly than Acrobat Reader, and I was perfectly happy with the Acrobat Reader plugin. Frankly, I want to disable pdf.js, but have not been able to find a way to do it. It does not appear anywhere that I could find the Add-ons Manager. I don't want to be forced to use a feature that seems to be a detriment to performance, at least for me. Mozilla, please review this!

You can set the pref pdfjs.disabled true on the topic: config page to disable the build-in the PDF Viewer and use the Adobe Reader software instead.

  • Acrobat Reader DC version 2015.006.30096 how to disable welcome splash screen on first use?

We are a public library with a few hundred computers accessible to the public. These computers are locked so to restart any changes made by connected boss are deleted to protect the computers and the privacy of the guests. Thus, whenever the computer is used the first start using window comes up. Have been able to disable this in other versions of Acrobat, but not DC/2015. Have you tried following registry with the Customization Wizard changes:

    HKLM\Software\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\FeatureLockDown\

    bUsageMeasurement

    REG_DWORD

    0

    HKLM\Software\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\FeatureLockDown\cWelcomeScreen

    bShowWelcomeScreen

    REG_DWORD

    0

Also I tried AcrobatDC.admx group policy for the splash screen to the launch, disabled.

Computers are unlocked after hours to push software installed. Install 2015.006.30033 first, followed by the 2015.006.30096.msp upgrade. Then, the computers are locked again. All this is done without supervision, so it's impossible to connect in each and close the boot welcome screen as a user.

I notice the same problem when using SCCM to upgrade a desktop clients v11. I make a request the AcroRdr2015Upd1500630097_MUI.msp as part of the upgrade, and it seems that this "feature" has been added in the AcroRdr2015Upd1500630094_MUI.msp patch. Test users saw the pop up window, not read the news and then clicking, then, then until they end up in a screen asking you to sign on information. No doubt this will eventually generate calls to the help desk, so we stopped to spread it.

Some initial surveys show that, in the registry for the current user, a key of registry Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\FTEDialog has a bShowInstallFTE dword = 1 created right after player DC 2015 is open for the first time and before closing the Welcome dialog box. An initial test shows that manually creating the value and set it to 0 before the upgrade seems to stop the Welcome screen.

I tried to put this value in the location of HKLM values bShowWelcomeScreen or bUsageMeasurement in the Customization Wizard, but not luck and attempted to add to the HKLU in editor package, but through SCCM installation of the software under a different account, the registry value does not end up in the currently logged on users register immediately.

I think the fix is to use Group Policy to add the registry key on all workstations before moving their

    The key is:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\2015\FTEDialog]

    "bShowInstallFTE" = DWORD: 00000000

    Hope this helps, Denis.

  • Acrobat reader crashes after using the send a file feature

I use 32 bit Windows 7 with all updates installed and Adobe Reader 11.0.11. After using the files of a PDF acrobat reader email feature send it crashes. The window is not frozen, but when I click on the X to close the document, nothing happens. I see the button push, but the window remains open. File-> exit does not work either. I can't open another PDF until I use taks Manager to close the Adobe Reader software.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall drive, I created a new Windows user profile nothing helps. This happens on any PDF file I have open and click send a file.

Disable protected mode solved the problem.

  • Acrobat Reader DC on PC: how to disable the bar side/element on the right side forever? (Question/comments)

How can I disable the bar side/item on the side right (export, create, edit PDFS, details, comments...) forever? It is up to the time when I restart Acrobat Reader DC.

If this isn't a feature, I strongly suggest to implement that Acrobat Reader saves the last State if it is shown or not (aka enabled or disabled).

    Hi Marcus,

I understand your concern, but it is a part of the basic user interface in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC & Adobe Acrobat DC. If it is not possible to disable it permanently.

Some of our clients have raised the same issue & like them you can also fill out a feature at Adobe - feature request/Bug Report Form
