Disabling resolution that extends Windows 7
Is it possible to turn off the display that runs in windows 7?
My native screen resolution is 1280 x 800. If I chose a resolution 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 in the resolution of the screen, normally it will use entire screen for display for the display got stretched. I want the display to use exactly the resolution I choose (not the stretch to fit the screen), so it will have black borders on the edges. Is it possible to do this in windows 7? If so, how?
Thank you.
This isn't really something that can control Windows, there are no options or settings for it.
It is your graphics (nVidia, ATI, Intel) and regardless of the driver is configured for. Some drivers allow you to modify the behavior of stretching, some do not. You'll have to check on the driver of your graphic card's manual to find out.

Contacts Windows Live is 452,1 MB
I was sent here from the "Windows Live Solution Center" to ask my 'Q', below:
My Contacts Windows Live is 452,1 MB and contains 16 files that extend into the size of 28.1 MB to 29.2 MB.
Why so many large files containing essentially the same... Contacts?
Do we really need 28 + MB to store contacts?
Two of the files have been accessed today, while others have not been accessed for 6 days.
Can one be deleted and if so, which?XPPro SP3 32 bit

Since you are using Windows XP, your version of Windows Live Messenger be WLMsgr 2009.
- so working in online mode (b) - Messenger requires a Live ID access code to use.
The article I wrote and quoted above explained that WLM (Windows Live Mail), which is also applicable to the WLMsgr 2009 versions contain most of the information to determine what to remember as...
1. how to use the registry to determine the names of digital files of the database of Contacts
2A explained that 2009 has two functional databases for each Live ID (a primary and a shadow)
-both are needed. used 2009 the 'shade' as a catchment area to ensure synchronization occurs in both directions, when changes are made in both locations (local in Messenger or online at contacts.live.com)
Please read and understand the best article
http://liveunplugged.WordPress.com/2011/02/04/Windows-Live-Mail-contacts-database/
... especially the section dedicated to explain the Contacts 2009 databases.
Once you determine the digital records of your single Live ID database (shadow and primary) and the program created 'default' you can check the size of each. If you feel that your registry database shows other numeric names (created using other Live ID or perhaps due to an error by typing a user name in the Messenger sign-in box) and these folders can be deleted safely. Note: you may need to configure Windows Explorer to show hidden and system files to see when viewing in Windows Explorer.
In addition, you can also, as your contacts are stored online at contacts.live.com, after closing of Messenger remove the any local digital database called folders (for the primary shadow and if is the default). WLMsgr will recreate them on next signon and rebuild any local database folders and files based on what it sync (downloads) of the Live Server to contacts.live.com.
-Before the deletion of all files, it would be wise to connect to contacts.live.com and check that all your contacts are indeed present and represent for
and for saving documents to archives/purposes export contacts to a csv file using the web UI option... Once completed then disconnection from the web UI. -Do not, and I it cannot emphasize enough strongly, do not delete anything from the web interface before you delete the local databases on your hard drive (you can always return to contacts.live.com later to manage the contacts (remove, clean the unused or duplicates, merge duplicates etc.) if necessary after WLMsgr recreates local databases.)
Once done your registry key should show that three databases total (assuming you are using only a Live ID in WLMsgr)-the main and shadow for that Live ID and a default value (if it is created by the program).
You should have enough information to move forward or to ask additional questions.
As I mentioned earlier that, at a minimum, an empty list of contacts would be at least some multiple approx. 24 MB. Since you use WLMsgr 2009, and it uses a primary and shadow, the minimum size of about for you with no contact would be approximately 72MB (24 MB for each - primary, shadow and by default). As well as the contacts are added, the primary databases and shadows will be size.
Other topics presented in this thead element (but not significant) - comments below to close this loop
S ' for the use of your Hotmail account in Outlook. This use is not related or significant to the database used by WLMsgr. Contacts in Outlook (when the mail is configured to use Pop3 or DeltaSync with Outlook Hotmail Connector) are stored in the Outlook profile contacts, and quite separate from the WLMsgr database (i.e. neither Outlook or WLMsgr program communicates or synchronize or share data with each other to keep the feature)
FYI... not associated with 2009, but 2011 (for those who read along. WLM 2011 no longer uses the approach of two (primary and shadow) file for databases local contact so databases are smaller and also more robust in 2011 and better synchronize. Finally, with respect to the use of 2009, wysiwyg... no other upgrades for 2009 are planned (the code was frozen for more than a year, the latest version (never) released in May 2010).
Good luck.

How can I disable these horribly annoying windows that pop up when I leave my mouse at rest quietly on a file name?
Try this:
Open Explorer
Click on "organize".
Click on "folder and search options.
Click [view] tab
Scroll the list and uncheck "show pop-up description for folder and desktop icons.
Click [OK]
I hope that's enough what you want.

Hello!
A few weeks, I just change my signature to email hotmail via the menu options, and since then, a big grey box appears on the emails that extends from left to right and is also important. I went into the signing options, re-created the signature, and for 3 weeks completely removed the signature, but I always get the grey box display. Email being accessible via www.hotmail.com, and I don't have the problem, when I answer emails via my iPad2.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, so that e-mail can be sent to the search normally. Thank you!

MS Windows VistaI got this laptop in order to fix it, but all I was told was that before she gave them a message when they started to the top of the machine, he said something about the cd rom is full and cannot accept more information. But when I received it, I don't have any information like that. They gave me the Toshiba Recovery and Applications/drivers DVD Satellite A100/A105 Series.
I put the disc in, started the F-12 PC clicked selected CD/DVD, recovery of factory default software selected and started. But am some type of error that it could not go on, I do not pay attention to her, then he ran this time to check the system for failures and just try to restore but could not go beyond fixing or restore. So my plan was just to reformat and reinstall with a clean install, because I got the thumb before you go and delete all.I put the Windows 7 installation cd and comes to a window with the title "Windows Installer" (the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.) Windows Setup cannot continue. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer and then restart the installation.) I click on OK, then he said: Please wait while windows is set up your computer and from here, it gets to the windows blue screen light pet that allows windows, and then starts at the beginning of the boot where it shows Toshiba and you can click on F - 2 for the installation or the F-12 utility, looks like it starts with windows and its animation scroll down with the black screen and then it loops to always with the same Windows "Windows Installer" message.
I tried to switch to F - 2 and set the bios to where it should start with the cd/dvd.
I tried to go to safe mode, but I get the same message.
I tried to go into safe mode with networking
I tried to go into safe mode with command promptIn advanced after having clicked on F - 8
I tried to activate the video low (680 x 480) resolution
I tried to disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure
I tried the last known good configuration
I tried to disable the Driver Signature EnforcementAfter going to safe mode, it happens with title "Windows Installer" window (Windows cannot complete the installation in Mode without failure. To continue installing Windows, restart the computer.) And then it begins the infamous loop.
I placed then all windows 7 content on the USB and set the boot sequence to start with the USB, but received the same error.
I tried again to go to safe mode, and once I got the error I have Shift and F-10.
In the type of line of command devmgmt.msc and press on enter.
If she opens the Device Manager, expand display adapter.
Right-click on the installed graphic card and turn off the device.
Make sure that the graphics card is disabled.
Close all windows and restart the computer.
Same error loop.
There is no other devices cannot connect to this computer.
When you go to the Device Manager it shows the error of conflict on my graphics card, but I know it's because I turn it off, but it also shows on my network card and the video card. Now, I'd be happy if I could just format the c: drive and get something installed, even Windows XP.
Totally, I would appreciate if I can get any help on this.
Ron
If you are not getting paid for it, you may want to have the owner that the equipment tested. I doubt that all this is due to software on a recovery disc or Windows installation disk. The prime suspect is the optical drive. If clean you and problems persist then the unit needs a clean bill of health.

disable the default title window tab order?
I have a popup that extends from the window of the title. I want to disable the tab order in the component. When I tried accessibilityEnabled = 'false' tabEnabled = 'false' nothing has worked.
RAS that I'm trying to do is, to implement my custom component tab by capturing the keyboard events and make setFocus() on the next compoennt n of the table which requires the update. How would I do that?
You should be able to get the FocusEvent.KEY_FOCUS_CHANGE event
installation of a listener in the capture phase and call preventDefault() on the
event.

How to disable the touchpad in windows 8 - Pavilion g6
How to disable the touchpad in windows 8 - Pavilion g6
Welcome to the forum, Sally.
There are several ways to do this - method you choose may depend on what you need to accomplish.
Follow a few ideas.
- A double tap farm in the upper left corner of the touch pad if it off for a single session.
Enable / disable
Control Panel > display icon > mouse > Settings of TouchPad > click on "enable TouchPad.
They continue parameters to install and configure the TouchPad as you like it...
==========================================================================
A method that works with the pilots 'old', it is a failure of session by session...
Make sure this setting is ON / CHECKED:
Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >
() repeat) TouchPad settings (button) > click tapping >
Click the shimmering blue wheel
In "box to Disable TouchPad settings".
CHECK "Double Tap to activate / disable the TouchPad.
In the 'Action in the upper left'
CHECK "Disable the TouchPad during a session.
Close
Ok
NOTE that, if it is available on your version, you can select to "turn off the TouchPad" - that's fine, unless something goes wrong. You could get stuck without your USB mouse AND no way to return to the setting to activate the touchpad. I don't know if I would use this setting.======================================================================================
Next...
Latest drivers (V16.x) have the ability to disable the TouchPad / click on the keypad with a setting on the main page 'Settings' when a USB mouse is used. This is a very nice feature.Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >
CHECK "disable the pointing device internal when the external USB pointing device is attached.
If you want to be alerted and see a visual cue of disability >
TICK "Animated icon in the taskbar" >
and make sure you have your updated task bar notifications so you can see the view of the mouse.

I hope this helps!

How can I disable the firewall of windows for FPGA
I tried to compile an FPGA vi. Towards the end of compilation, asked me if I wanted to disable something in the windows firewall (probably to allow for communication between my computer and my PXI-7854R). At the time, I had no administrative privilege and couldn't do anything but cancel this request. Of course, nothing that I compiles now runs. How to get back to the point where I can disable the firewall?
A picture of the error message is attached.
Thank you

Check to see if both SPS is installed:
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you which SP you have installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

Windows Logo key: it seems to me have it disabled on my keyboard windows logo key
original title: the Windows Logo key
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Some how I seem to be disabled on my keyboard windows logo key. Is no longer, it appears the start menu when you press. In fact, nothing happens when one or other of the windows logo keys. So now I can't use windows flip as well.
Please help on how to enable the windows logo keys.
Thank you
The issue of the device here seems to be "what program or process disabled Windows key?'.»»
Some programs disables the Windows key while they are running. Some dedicated (including gamer KBs) keyboards have a physical switch that disables the Windows key. There are several small software applications that offer a software control of the keyboard like AutoHotKey that can control the button of Windows script . There is also a registry setting, but it is unlikely that it is the culprit, if it has been disabled by mistake. My wireless after-market keyboard has a cmdlet that alow me to disable the Windows key.

How to disable permanently packages fixes Windows 10 to settle on windows 7?
Hi, I removed the packages several times and 'hidden' them from Microsoft Update so that they would not be put back up. However, they are automatically added, downloaded and installed, regardless of how many times I do this.
I doubt that anyone would give Microsoft one * on this subject and probably think that if they annoy people enough they'll finally upgrade. I am not amused. Or I will be upgrading to Windows 10. I have a real computer, I don't want a phone operating system. No I don't like that 10 Windows can offer me, spy on me last, security etc. Then please do not use these arguments. I don't want to DWX.exe and other unnecessary running in the background, in order to hide the icon is not a solution.
I just want to stop permanently windows update to reinstall the update of Windows 10 crapware.
Packets coming back: KB3035583, KB2952664, KB2976978, KB3021917, KB3044374, KB2990214
Someone else has a way to stop, before you completely disable future upgrades of Windows?
P.S. anyone from Microsoft, read this. I find your work here to be deplorable. Just because you have a near-monopoly PC operating systems does not mean that this kind of business practice is acceptable. You're lucky that boycott your products is not possible at this time. But don't expect me or others like me to buy everything you do, unless it is absolutely necessary for the job. Nice day.

There is no side effects from the use of this solution - you will be able to use Windows update as usual.

Windows 7 will not be updated after you disable the upgrade of Windows 10.
Hello.
We have a number of computers at work that all run windows 7 pro 64-bit. We cannot upgrade to Windows 10 because it is not compatible with our companies critical software.
I disabled the update of windows 10 via;
-Uninstall KB3035583
-Installation of KB3065987
-Start-up of "disable update" in group policy under admin template/windows components/upgrades
He worked on all the computers except one. All other computers are updated to windows 7 with no request an upgrade to windows 10.
Simply, a computer that will not update hangs on the screen of "check for updates". I ran the Microsoft fixit50123.msi to this topic.
What other options can I try on this computer thugs?
Hi Paul,.
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I understand that one of the computers will not update for Windows 10 and I appreciate the efforts made in the patches that you have already tried. Let me ask you;
- This computer is connected to the domain?
- What security software is installed on the computer?
From now on, I would ask you to refer to the methods provided for in article below and check the status.
In addition, refer to the suggestions provided by Andre Da Costa in the thread below link and check the status.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.
