  • What is the best way to add memory to disk to my Macbook Air?

    I got a 2013 13 "Macbook Air with 120 g of memory.

I looked at my drop of memory available to a worrying 18 g even if my applications are only 9g and my office is 14g.

I ran several management programs to clean up the disk drives, but my available storage is 18g / file.

So now I am considering my options to get more storage.

What I've read it seem a good idea would be to get a 128g Transcend Jetdrive.

But then put my apps and my office on the Jetdrive only release 23g.

So I would appreciate input from those more knowledgeable than myself.

Is a Jetdrive my best option?

What I could put on the Jetdrive to free more memory?

    Thanks in advance.

  • IEEE 1394 USB on the macbook Air

Hi, I tried to transfer my videos from my Canon ZR960 to my MacBook air with a Firewire (IEEE 1394) port for USB cable, but it doesn't work, my mac will not read the camera and won't be on side windows on the BootCamp partition. How can I fix, how can I transfer the videos (on mini cassette) to my MacBook Air?

    It is greatly appreciated.

    Hi luis098765,

I see that you have problems when you try to import MiniDV video from your camera to your MacBook Air. I see that you try to use a USB FireWire-cable to achieve this. I would suggest that you use a FireWire adapter rather Thunderbolt as a USB connection does not allow you to import the tape media in your computer. • How to make the partition of Seagate backup so the Macbook Air?

I just bought a Macbook Air 13' 2015, I have a seagate external hard drive backup 1 TB plus all my files in it, coming from windows PC and I switch to Mac, when I try to make a partition in disk utility, I can't select an option for partition, its greyed, but I can read/write because of the Paragon for Mac OS driver I want just a partition on my mac with Time Machine backup, but I can't use my external drive for Time Machine it will erase everything on my external hard drive. Thank you

Unless you need to keep the Windows files you put on the disk and copied to the computer, then I suggest that you simply re - prepare the drive for use on Mac. Because the drive has been formatted on a Windows system you cannot partition via the Mac. But you can re-prep. disk using the partition scheme GUID for the two partitions and format of one of them for MS-DOS or ExFAT using Windows. But as I said earlier, if you do not need to use Windows and want to use for the backup on the Mac, then he prep exclusively for Mac. Use Time Machine backup requires a volume that is at least 2 or 3 times the capacity of the computer HARD drive.

    Drive partition and format

    1. Open utility disk from the Applications\utilitaires folder.
    2. After disk utility charges select the drive (entrance Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) in the list to one side.
    3. Click on the Partition or delete tab in the toolbar utility of disc that is activated. If both are enabled, then choose clear.
    4. Adjustable circular diagram to set the number of partitions if you want more than one. Otherwise leave the default of one.
    5. In the Group dropdown set the GUID partition scheme. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    6. Click on the apply button and wait for the fact button to activate.
    7. Quit disk utility.

  • No boot device error - early 2014 Macbook Air

Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere, I could not find another post as of yet with my set of circumstances.  I have a Macbook 2014 as shown air above 10.10.5 running and have had installed Boot Camp and windows 7 working for more than a year.  Recently, I tried to boot into boot camp and got the dreaded "No. Bootable Device" error.

When I go to the startup disk in the settings I see BOOT CAMP Windows option to restart, but I get the above error when I restart.  When I restart and hold down the option I am not isolation presented with the option to boot into Windows or bootcamp.  I can see the boot camp partition in finder and disk utility.  I tried to create an installation disk Usb 2.0 with the latest version of windows software support in the Boot Camp Assistant.  I tried to use this drive to try to repair the disk, but cannot use the touchpad or keyboard or external keyboard.  Tried to use a player great external mac with a windows 7 dvd and had all the same problems.  I tried swapping usb ports and don't have anything yet.  I read somewhere that this could be a problem with the Usb 3.0 ports and drivers with windows 7.  Now I'm at a loss on how to recover it without having to reinstall.

If I can see the data of the boot partition might be the problem?  I don't know what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1 n ° put them on a regular external drive and the value of Time Machine to back up as well; the files you want to keep should be at least two disks in case one of them goes down.

    2. they will not be usable until the restoration.

  • SD not detected by the MacBook Air early 2014

My MacBook Air early 2014 does not any activity when I put in my SanDisk Ultra 4 GB card in the card reader.

I searched through further discussions, and I have already made sure I put on 'hard drive' on my Finder preferences, put the SD card to 100%, 90%, at halfway, I locked and unlocked and semi locked SD card... no activity at all.

I need card SD since my camera is broken and I can't use my USB with one more.

You are looking in the disk utility?

You have another SD card to test with?

    The slot is maybe defective.

  • How to delete photos stored in macbook air any of iPhone

I am on my Macbook Air storage as whenever I backed up my iPhone, I also chose to "import" all the new photos in the iPhone.

I think this is redundant with as backup iTune keeps pictures of the iPhone (from thousands of them since 2007)!

Now my question is: How can I safely delete all photos imported from the iPhone and keep the rest that I took with a digital camera? It removes the original photos in iPhone too next time think I synchronize?

    Thank you all.

  • MacBook air IMovie accidentally deleted

    Hello world

So, I've recently had to factory reset my Macbook air and when I reinstalled the software and everything configured back that I realized that my IMovie has been deleted for some reason any. I checked the purchases tab in the app store and it's not here. I really don't want to spend $14.99 on a soft which originally came with my computer. • MacBook Air wouldn't startup after starting get disk error

I was getting full boot disk error on my Macbook Air 2012 model a few times, and then it stopped starting (folder flashing with question mark began to appear). I followed the instructions on this site If flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac - Apple Support

but failed to copy data from the drive on an external hard disk. I could see my boot (MacintoshHD) on the disc utilities drive, but could the volume seems to be not mounted.  The size of the disk is 128 GB and only 12 MB seems to be free.

1 has started the macbook in recovery mode. In disk utility, run check disk and repair utilities disk for the startup disk (MacintoshHD). No problems in the generated logs. The volume is not mounted and is dimmed.

2 selected MacintoshHD and tried to unlock it. The system tried for a while, and the password window disappeared after some time with the MacintoshHD via disk utility.  When I restart the machine again in recovery, disk MacintoshHD reappears in the same situation.

    3. I was able to start the macbook after installing a new version of OS X in an external hard drive. During the installation of OS X, I couldn't copy the data from the volume MacintoshHD (possibly the drive is locked).

    4. I could not start my macbook in safe mode.

    My query is-

    1. I had not backed up my data by any means. What are my current options to copy my data MacintoshHD?

    2. because the MacintoshHD is locked and attempts to unlock it had no disk utility, it will help if I start my macbook target disk mode, connect to another mac via a thunderbolt cable and try to copy data?

    3. What are my options now to restore my macbook? Clear my boot drive (MacintoshHD) and reinstall OS X?

    Thank you

  • MacBook Air will not recognize Micro SD disk in the format exFAT

    Hello

I have a new camera of Campark Xtreme (like a Go Pro) who uses a Micro SD disk in ex FAT format. My 3 year old MacBook Air does not recognize the disc in this format. But to reformat, I need to erase all the content on the disc. When I put the disc in the camera, the camera will not work unless I have reformat the drive for exFAT.

My computer is 10.10.5. So my husband. We have the same problem on two laptops.

    Anyone have any ideas?

The Mac can read and write to exFat without problem. The problem is probably that the card is too recent for the readers into your computers.

Fortunately, a new stand-alone USB drive which takes care of these maps is cheap.

I cancelled iTunes on a Macbook Air, issued by the school.  All my music is stored/saved on my iMac at home.  If I delete the playlists and songs of the Macbook it will affect my master library?

Unless you're 'home sharing', which he does not seem like you are, two libraries (macbook and iMac) are distinct, so a change does not affect the other.  Best way to test would be to remove a few songs you can download easily and see if it changes.  But I don't think it will be a problem.
