  You can install Acrobat DC directly on your laptop. There is no compulsion to install creative cloud, but I would like to inform you that you can install on 2 computers, but you would be able to work only on one at a time.

  I tried several days installing Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on my computer. I have a serial number for this product that I received when I bought it.  I am currently using Windows 7 Professional on this computer. When I run the Setup, I get an error 28000. Installation of the Module of licensing Acrobat failed. For possible solutions to this problem, please refer to http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_installation_rollback. I tried the rollback option and still the same error.  Please help.
