  When you try to convert MXF 4 K in ProRes files I get an error message "codec not installed." I just bought 4 compressor andean can't seem to find a solution because it seems that I have updated with the latest version. Does anyone have a solution to this?

  The video codec that is required to decode and display the video can not be installed on your computer.

  Method 1.
  How to determine what codec is installed and how to install it automatically?
  a. to determine what codec was used with a specific file, play the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties.
  b. on the file tab, look at the sections of video codec and Audio codec.
  Download and install the Codecs by going to the PLAYER tab and check.
  c. connect you to the Internet and Download Codecs automatically.

  You need to install the codec for any video that you are trying to run. The codec more common are installed with Windows, but there are dozens of others. You the best solution would be to try to install an all-in-one pack and see if that covers you. Search the Web for k - lite codec pack, you should find many places available for download.   FWIW: I converted some DivX clips the other day to make them usable.

  I used AVS Video Converter (and AVS Video Editor) for the task.

  A clumsy process, but it worked and did the work.
