  Your model should ICH9 sata driver sliptreamed in the installer CD of XP.

• Presario cq50: won't find updates

  I just installed windows 7 32 bit with service pack 1 on my presario cq50.  I was running windows update for 2 hours and it will not always find updates.  Y at - it an update that I need to download to fix this or what. Thanks for the help I get.

  Install both of these fixes using method 2 and restart. Should solve the problem.

  It would link to the recovery media to order on the Vista 32 bit laptop driver page.

  But can call HP and ask first. Maybe you can order them by phone and they would cost less ordering them to surgeons in the computer.

  I reinstalled Vista Home Premium on the computer and now it has no drivers for Ethernet, the math processor controllers and 2 unknown units. I can not turn the wireless, after some googling, I guess that's because it needs the Ethernet drivers on the motherboard first.

  The V6320CA uses XP drivers V6000Z page. NVIDIA Chipset first install and reboot before other drivers. MS UAA before Conexant Audio and Modem. Others that you need are there and can be done in any order:

  Most hardware drivers with regard to laptops, are written specifically for the operating system that they are supplied with. If you have vista, you're going to have a tough go get xp to work. You can try the vista drivers and see if they work. Search drivers xp for the hp product or try the manufacturers website. Don't forget to make your recovery discs before performing any software os installs.

  When I turn it on, I get a clicking sound on the top left.   Yet, there is an operating system on it.  It gave me a year ago and it not working find. I pulled out of storage and put a hard drive in it and turn it on and got a clicking sound. I even pulled out the hard drive and he did the same thing. I can't understand. If I remove the top cover and turn it on I get no clicks and after I got the cover and put all scerws back in I get him clicking back. I hope someone can help.

  According to this Web page, I have to first enable the Execute Disable bit in the BIOS.

  When you try to do, I couldn't find the option.

  I then looked my processor (Pentium (r) Dual-Core CPU T4300 2.10 GHz) and was directed to this Web page.

  As you can see, the table shows that the Execute Disable Bit feature is provided with this processor.

  After reading this, I went into the BIOS and looked through each menu and submenu and still cannot find the option.

  My current version of BIOS is F.65, which is the latest version of the BIOS for my computer, according to this page for Windows 7 drivers.

  Does anyone know why activate option Execute Disable is not available for me?

  DEP is enabled in your screenshot and is very probably enabled by default in the bios, even if you don't see the setting, you should be good to go.

• Why my screen of laptop Compac Presario CQ50-210us suddenly begins to roll?

  As I use the computer all of a sudden the screen begins to roll horizontally.  Picturesque, the control key does not help, but sometimes moving the lid back and forth results screen slow down and finally stop.  Turn on the computer, and then there is no solution.  Really upsetting that I waste time trying to get the regular screen. So far I have not had success in the search for a solution.
