  After a lot of frustration and 2 friends "Tecchie" trying to help me and not to know, I finally called Adobe customer support! Basically, what happened is that in the process of download LR, I signed up for the cloud (they invite you to do so) and ended up downloading the version of LR cloud, instead of the standard version of LR. then of course my serial number was not working.

  technical support helped me disintall version I had downloaded and send me a link to the appropriate injector.

  Here are the steps that you can follow.

  1 change the location of installation using Creative Cloud Desktop App, go to preference > creative cloud > Apps and change the installation location.

  2. delete the folder '%Temp%' and restart the process.

  NOTE: Application is downloaded to the default location, we can only customize the installation location using creative cloud app in this case.

  Please click on the first " Finder " icon on the dock (toolbar below) on your screen, in the left panel, you will see an option, click on 'Applications' on it.
