  I am facing a problem and do not know how to solve this problem.
  
  Creating reports and during the test, we found that when transfer us data in Excel, the formatting of the data is lost.
  
  For example if we have cost center "010", then the data in excel will show 10 instead of 010.

  Make sure that your column is varchar, if it is not converted to varchar type.

  Disadvantage of this approach is: no problem as long as you download in excel. But if you download the report in pdf format, all code will be appear as a value.

  I created reports using the plugin BI Publisher for Word 2007 and deployed through the Apex. Users with Office 2003 is installed get download the file without any compatibility issues. These users on Office 2007 get a warning as follows:
  
  'The file you are trying to open.' filename.xls, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Check that the file is not corrupted and precedes from a trusted source before you open the file. Do you want to open it now? "
  
  The file will open and save, it's all just annoying to get this message every time. There are no problems when downloading the report to other formats.

  It is a known problem... It is a "Fix" of Microsoft, to ensure that people know that the file is NOT a style true Blue XLS file... My office just to go through it and it is adjustable, but involves a registry setting that they do NOT HAVE want to impliment...

  Excel is csv you can read with a text editor. No you want?
  In an interactive report you can not give an extension with it (happens automatically), but in a normal report, you can call ex .txt which will cause a text editor open the file automatically.

  I already create PDF reports with RTF Templates. In the APEX, I create a button and a process of "Download" to get the PDF-reports the BI Publisher. ". We use version 11.1.7.

  Now I try the same thing with XLS-Templates. I create the XLS model in the editor of BI and where it works very well. Now I need also an APEX-"Download" - Process to download the XLS reports to the client. The method already used doesn't work for RTF models.

• Call and save the reports/export to PDF using use?

  My use is for the ".csv" files and works perfectly when read and load the files. But what would be really nice if I could somehow put the data in these files in their appropriate report templates and then export this report to a file '.pdf '.

  So, I tried to add:

  Call DataFileLoad ([Filepath], [Script]
  Call DataFileSave ([Filepath], ".") CT","CT")
  Call Report.LoadLayout ([the report path])
  Call Report.Sheets.ExportToPDF ([path to save .pdf], False)
  Call Report.Refresh

  «When I test the use by indexing a file manually, I get the message: Variable is undefined: «DataFileLoad»»

  So, if it is reading as a variable that suggest that it does not recognize functions unless they are specified in the sub?

  Is it possible to do what I want?

  Your VBScript use cannot be called "red" DIAdem orders  The VBScript host that uses the use contains only basic functions VBScript more some specific commands to use, but none of the rest of orders DIAdem.

  You need to use a VBScript DIAdem script to load the data file, load the layout and save the PDF file.

  HI, I got the error that the report was not able to load the dell server. The connectivity test, the need of the ports are open and log file can not understand something more... It is only said that after the creation of the dset report t the collection failed to download.

  You are better off using the XML Editor to do this. A ton of reports Oracle planted have been converted to XML Publisher in R12 as well.

  Hi David,

  I've always found preferable to set the value of the element on a page using a calculation when I want him to have a starting value that does not rely on a database column.

  On your two fields, set the static allocation Type of Source and remove source.

  Now, on your page, click on the button create (icon +) in the section of the Page rendering calculations. Then enter the following settings:

  Geographical area: item on this page
  Point calculation: select your P1_STARTDATE
  Calculation Point: Before header
  Calculation type: SQL query
  Calculation: Select TO_CHAR(SYSDATE-1,'MM/DD/YYYY') from Dual
  Condition Type: Article 1 of the Expression value is NULL
  Expression 1: P1_STARTDATE

  Repeat this for your usng P1_ENDDATE Select TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'MM/DD/YYYY') from Dual to the query

  Now, when the page is loaded first, the calculation conditions are checked. As the two fields are empty, the calculations are made and items get their start values. Your application should then work ok for export.

  Ahh, now I see what you're saying. This is the question that you run in. Download report does not use the title under the name of download file. Instead, it uses the physical name of the OBIEE report. So even if you add the date system to the title of the report, it will not affect the name of download. It turns out that the name of the download and the title by default the name of the response on the request.

  So, if you really wanted someone to download with a date already in the name of the file, you have two options:

  (1) physically rename the answer ask periodically to indicate the last time it was updated. It is here that links to this request will get quickly outdated. And this isn't the best solution
  (2) you will need to go into the Javascript code behind OBIEE and change how it generates the download file. I checked the source code of the web page for the download link and here's where you want to start digging: onclick = "return NQWPopupMenu(event,'idDownloadLinksMenud:dashboard~p:ngm14ept52q4tcnt~r:dr2ss84kj32lkjoi')".
  This feature of NQWPopupMenu is what generates the pop-up with different file releases. Once you dig through there, it will lead you eventually through the script that does the output to excel. Once you have found the piece of code that creates the output file, it should be as simple as adding a sysdate the filename.
