I have a laptop 17 t - 3200 envy with Windows 8 operating system. Dead-end is Flash Player 11. Vedios downloaded will not play on my computer. Please notify.

    I can also play the movie using Real Player or I-Tunes - but it of okay for me if they work in these players or not, since my friends and family would be no players on their computers.

  • DVD won't play in Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium Media Center.

    I tried many DVDs in my Windows 7, 64-bit Home Premium system, and none of them will play in the Media Center, with the exception of a 1955 film that plays without problem. I guess it was a good year. In the lower right corner of the Media Center, a window says: "Play DVD - Windows Media Center cannot detect a video DVD in the DVD - Rom drive. Insert a video DVD in the drive." Apparently, the DVD is not detected. What is a missing codec problem? I read about downloading the Codec of the user, only to cause more problems, and I did a lot of searching for an answer to this and found a countless number of users having problems with DVD in Media Center and no collective solution. The only solution that I come up with to this day, even after checking with the maufacturer of my optical drive, should consider buying the codec itself, if that is what is lacking, or a DVD player to possibly of Roxio.     Hi Mary - thank you very much for your answer. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer. I just got the phone is turned off after a few hours of troubleshooting with Dell hardware and software services. Dell is sending a technician to replace my optical drive. They hope that clears the problem, but if not, they say that I might have to reinstall Windows 7. This is happening due to your pointing me in the right direction with your post, and troubleshooting I could do before, I called Dell. I had different problems for a while, and maybe they'll finally get fixed.     You might have problems of compatibility with your source files.

    Several formats are apparently compatible with
    Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
    Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Music - wma, wav, wmv

    Also... can help remove the effects and Transitions and
    It may be worth trying to go to... Tools / Options /.
    Compatibility tab and disable all filters.

    Large, complex projects are prone to problems.
    If you create several small projects and publish (save)
    each of them in the format .wmv movie to a folder on your
    hard drive, you can then import the collected film clips
    in Movie Maker and combine them into a final film.
    Or import clips .wmv collected in creation of DVD and
    each of them becomes a scene (chapter).

  • With more than 2 GB videos for veiwing h264 problems, they won't play in windows or version mac et seq., less than 2 GB, they play very well.

    I work for a video company, video encoding, the only problem we have is Firefox plays videos not encoded as H 264 (1080) greater than 2 GB, because they do not play. I tried the two latest version 9.0.1 in mac and windows and no change. In Internet Explorer, Chrome, the video plays well. Is there a file limit in Firefox? I read somewhere else that FF also has problems downloading files of 2 GB, do not know who is bound. Any help would be appreciated.

    Firefox does even not play H264 content by default. For HTML5 video, it will play OGG / Theora and WebM, but a plugin is necessary for the H264 content.

    The initial problem was that I could not download the Blackberry Desktop Software - updates needed. The computer came with Windows XP Media Center Edition Home and I use Internet Explorer 8 as my default browser. I also use Mozilla Firefox as my backup browser.

    Then select all the WMA files you want to convert, and then convert them to the MP3 Format.
    The reason why they are WMA is because when you ripped the files on the disc to your pc, by default, Windows Media Player is configured to save in the Windows Media Audio (WMA) Format.
    This default can be changed by opening Media Player and click on Tools > Options
    Then select the Rip music tab
    Format: select MP3 from the drop-down list.
    Click apply and OK.
    Now the next time you rip a CD on your drive hard it will be automatically saved as an MP3 file.

    I'm having the same problem. My computer has Windows XP Professional Office. Media Player 11 is on it.
